    PACCAR reports a full 80% of all new trucks ordered from them are being spec'd with automated transmissions. WHY? Because the trucking co's are tired of replacing clutches while young drivers figure out the gears. !

    • @ESPSJ
      @ESPSJ 2 месяца назад

      I wouldn't blame 'young' drivers, there's barely any young blokes getting into truck driving now. It's an international driver issue, unskilled people that never get trained properly cause damage.

      Makes it easier to find a driver, just point them in the right direction. Unfortunately, there is little or no training or trainers to teach new drivers. But I have to say this new auto is the best that Kenworth has made, (just my opinion) changes are a lot quicker and smoother, not sure about the reliability, time will tell.

    Drivers from a certain country don't like being overtaken - They'll be doing 80/90 in the 100 and will speed up as you pass them so you can't go back in. Happens all the time. Just forget about cruise control on Melbourne freeways at certain times when its like this Also, right lane bandits give me shits. They sit in the right hand lane the whole length of the freeway and have a train of cars behind them sitting bumper to bumper. Look in your mirrors dickheads! Melbourne has the worse drivers ever. Is it hard learning to drive those B doubles?

    • @australiantruckerrod1070
      @australiantruckerrod1070 8 месяцев назад

      Not much harder than a single trailer going forward, just wider turns and the back trailer tracks out further. Reverse is, turn in the direction you want the back trailer to go, small turns if possible and get out to look when you can't see the back trailer. Most importantly WHEN not if you get into a situation is take a breath,make a plan, except or ask for help if available and take your time. The hardest part of driving a b double for a few years is going back and driving a ridged.

    You post a video about driver attitude but you're tailtgating a car throughout much the video, travelling on the right lane etc? If you don't respect other vehicles on the road you don't deserve respect.

    • @australiantruckerrod1070
      @australiantruckerrod1070 9 месяцев назад

      I did not post this video as I'm looking for respect on the road from other drivers. It was to show other drivers that if they would like to drive at a lower speed than the posted limit that is ok to do, that they don't increase their speed until any vehicle overtaking in the right- lane has passed and changed back in the next lane. As you may have experienced, slowing to move back in the next lane other drives will change lanes and overtake on the left. You are right, I should not be in the right-hand lane and I don't like to be. I personally like to maintain a higher speed to not hold up other drivers and not slow as much when going up any rise in the road due to weight. Tailgating due to slowing traffic or changing lanes is unfortunate at times, but I don't believe it was not for a long period as the vehicles moved away. Should all trucks be in the left-hand lane and have a speed limit of 80 kph or will this cause issues when vehicles are entering or leaving a multi-lane road or complaints trucks are holding up other vehicles? Does this actually work well in some European countries?

    • @australiantruckerrod1070
      @australiantruckerrod1070 9 месяцев назад

      I'm surprised you got that far when you realised it didn't have a stick, I thought door slammers referred to fridge van operators, I tow curtain siders so I'm a steering wheel attendant. (I would be thinking it's a Jake, more old school.) Manufacturers today I am guessing are targeting larger fleet operators, not the one truck old school nostalgic operator. They are going to make it with the cheapest components probably overseas to maximise profits, All these old-style Kenworths will eventually be replaced, maybe with the DAF. It's either move with the times with different equipment and new-age drivers or get out of the industry.

  • @kadmow
    @kadmow 9 месяцев назад

    They don't get it, they merely don't think, don't realise their poor lane keeping and speed discipline is an issue. - Maybe all commercial van drivers should have to get at least an MR license - to understand what truck drivers go through.
