  • I’ve done a lot of videos on flash photography and you still may have the question; do you NEED a flash for your photography? In this video I will explore the pros and cons of flash, when you would benefit from it and when you don’t need it. I’ll also talk about some alternatives to using flash.

I love your honest approach to explaining how/why you use flash. I would be very interested in a video on your ideas for Portrait Lighting. Again, great video and thank you!

Great and timely video, Hayward! You bring up some great points. I would love a video on light ratios, how to meter them and strobe placement for indoor and outdoor portraits! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Just picked up a Godox V1 speed light and a wireless trigger for street portraits while traveling in Vietnam.

How well do you like the AC only Flashpoint strobes? I'm interested in a non-battery powered strobe. Which Flashpoint model do you use? Thanks for the video!

For the strobes I buy in studio. I have no use for the battery models. The one I showed at the intro of this video I just got. It was the studio Pro 600, which is pretty much the same flash as the Godox of the same number I believe. Can’t say a lot about it yet because I’ve just gotten it, but in a couple of sessions, I’ve used it for it’s awesome because it’s got the built-in trigger which is really why I got it and it’s got a 30 W LED cob light for the modeling light

@@CoffeeandPhotographyTalk thanks! I have some battery powered units but for indoor I just wanted AC and not worry about charging batteries.

Oh and they cost a lot less than the battery models it looks like 👍
