Apparently (haven't looked at mine) the rebranded Flashpoint versions have well written user manuals. Glad to see you finally try these and that you like them.
GREAT video! Got this trigger/flash pair on my little Olympus micro four thirds -- it is my very first TTL / HSS flash and trigger. Works flawlessly any way you contort them. Being curious, I've even experimented with a cheap Yongnuo speedlight (angled many different ways) on the top hotshoe of the X1T while the TT685 is a remote slave is placed at several long distances away, and the first shot of every setup is perfect every time - even at night time outdoors. Wow! My picky wife has her own set of these, made for her Nikon D750 and she is super-pleased with the build and consistently perfect performance as well. Sure beats spending a fortune on other solutions. Thanks!
Ken comes over to the dark side. Its only a matter of time before he reviews the AD200 and AD600. The pull is far too strong for him to resist...Feel the force Ken.
FYI if you upgrade the firmware for the flashes, you can use them across systems. you just need the transmitter for the correct brand of camera. so if you were to buy a transmitter for your Nikon and the firmware is updated on that flash, you will be able to have full control, including HSS and TTL) of that flash. now you can use that flash as a controller but it will only work on whatever brand the flash was designed for due to hot shoe compatibility issues (or at least that was the way it was explained to me.)
and i think this make them a great value for people that shoot multiple brands of cameras. i really like your testing of equipment. If it is good it is good, if it is bad is bad. no fanboy loving something because of the name brand. thank you for making these great videos.
The Godox system is amazingly integrated, you can even mix and match triggers and flashes originally intended for different camera brands. That being said and having used the Yongnuo trigger, the X1T is quite impractical, I hate the wheel for rotating groups and look forward to the upcoming XPro version.
thanks for the video I'm using the Good system since year now with multiple units (ad200, ad360,ad600,flashes 865,350f) its working seamlessly with my canon and fuji with no issues so far
I'm making a decision on Godox flashes. I can't figure out if Godox AD360 with battery would have same output power as one of these with battery? None of my photography pals use godox so not sure where else to ask. Thank you for great videos.
I had a feeling you'd be impressed by the Godox. I no longer purchase Nikon speedlights for this very reason ( although I still own my plethora of Nikon flashes ). It's Godox all the way for me going forward plus in the very unlikely event I ever switched systems or ran two systems together I only need to buy another trigger and everything is compatible.
These units were both out 2 months ago when you said Godox was trash, what changed? Alo you should try the V860 the Li-ion battery is fn awesome. Also when the new xpo-c comes out for fuji grab that, its even better than the x1 Great review Ken, thank you
Ken their AD600 stobe has outstanding reviews - especially considering its price point. So unless you have first hand experience otherwise I would think it would be more logical to think your experience with their speed light would suggest that perhaps their other products offer good quality for a very fair price.
Get the AD200 if you want and out of doors light, put it in a Bowens mount adapter and you are golden. You can add a second AD 200 to match the power of the the AD600...google the bracket. Nothing wrong with the 600 other than it is a boat anchor.
camera in one hand, ad200 in the other. it's the power of three speedlights in your hand. with fast refresh and long battery life. Only a little bigger than a large pro speedlight.
Hey Ken, thx for review, awesome flash here (just got mine) anyway you can do a tutorial on how to use this flash system effectively? Right now I’m just using it at TTL but I know there’s a way to use HSS with it, but haven’t figured it out, great product and for price you cant beat!
The 350f is neat too. If someone wants cheap they can double as a trigger. The xt1f kinda blocks some controls on my x100f but other than that no major gripes.
Hey Ken it would be nice if you had quickly shown how to get these working together since the manual is crap. I have mine working after I figured out the flash has to be in slave mode to the wireless trigger. This is my first trigger though so I'm not an expert for sure. Thanks for the review.
Need some help with the Godox TT350 Flash & X1-T trigger. With the flash on the hot shoe and rotating the telephoto on the 18-55mm lens the flash's zoom adjusts its position. Great feature. But I seem to loose that functionality when the flash is off camera and the trigger is attached to the hot shoe. Is this right? Getting confused.
You mentioned the external flash unit doesn't fire reliably unless it is at least three (3) feet from the transmitter and said "Not a problem." Hmmm, I think that could be a BIG PROBLEM for macro photography!
Hi Ken, don't know if understand properly but its possible to trigger Nissin i60 with this Godox wireless trigger? Thanks for your great videos absolutely you are Ace spasiba
I already have Canon RT600 speedlight. Can I use it with Fujifilm x-t2 ? I want to use Manual mode only. Could it be use directly on the camera or do I need a flashlight trigger (Godox or Vello)? Would it be safe for x-t2?
About the distance issue: there is a menu setting that makes the unit more reliable at short distances. Why this isn’t the default?? Beats the hell out of me! :-)
This unit works pretty darn well for the $$ - i use this trigger with the smaller godox TT350f flash on my xT2 just fine but I agree as to the bulkiness of the trigger, especially if using on the Fuji X100f !! I can barely just squeeze my finger under this black box to activate the shutter button! If anyone has pudgy sausage fingers better look for an alternative trigger!!!! 😉😄😄😄 Btw, anyone have a recommendation for a different trigger smaller in size that would still work w/the above mentioned flash?? Would like to get the bulk of X1tF trigger off my x100f . Or will i need to look for something else entirely that works as well for the 100f?? I have old pocket wizards but i want to be able to make adjustments to flash via onboard controller. suggestions??!! please, thanks!!
Theoria Apophasis - thanks Ken, i will look into that brand. i may have found an alternative trigger for the x100f - if all works, i will put a link here.
Never found ‘Sugru’ except for some two way sticky type material, no flash trigger -(??) anyway, the Godox XPro f trigger is more narrow at the sides (less boxy/bulky) works w/TT350f and has plenty of shutter finger clearance for x100f Xe2 cameras Godox Xpro-F TTL Wireless Flash Trigger for Fuji Fujifilm DSLR Camera 2.4G Wireles... www.amazon.com/dp/B078MM98QZ/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_i_CMAcBbN02M46T
I use this trigger & receiver on my speedlight but for some reason the receiver goes to sleep mode (or maybe the speed light) when its off camera and not in use for a few mins.... means having to walk back to my speedlight :( any help? using the Shanny SN600SN (for nightclub photography)
I must have been an idiot, Ken, to have followed your advice and settled for the Nissin. Other than the hotshoe lock (more in theory than in practice, as the hotshoe plate in Nissin is clearly a millimetre or two narrower than Fuji's hotshoe, thence wobble one would expect from a Chinese copycat company brainchild) and maybe the size compared to more powerful Godox units, I don't see an advantage to Nissin (compared to Godox). I wish, I'd bought a couple of AD200s and an XT1 trigger (plus, a couple of AD600s later on) instead of the 2 i60As and an Air Commander. Even updating firmware costs money here in Europe (at least, the dispatch does, regardless of the shop they were procured at). Will have to sell them along with the Elinchrom Ranger Speed Quadra set I've had since 2011 that was supposed to sync the flash at thousandths of seconds but doesn't go past 250 (320 in the Speed mode, with a fairly evident, but usable vignette at the bottom). Not to mention limited compatibility of either system's (especially, Nissin's) radio. No, Nissin was not THE ONLY COMPANY TO PRODUCE FUJI-COMPATIBLE TTL AND HSS LIGHTING EQUIPMENT, contrary to what you had idiots like Me buy into. Godox, upon the other hand, impresses immensely. I just hope, unlike the rest of china, they don't support their national sport of animal abuse in any form a sick fuck's mind could possibly imagine. Current generation Godox products put even the Swiss Elinchrom to shame.
I owned the ad200 and v850ii and in my opinion theyre great flash for the amount i paid.. I bought the v850ii with out knowning it is only manual flash lol.. I was so fixated with the lithium ion batterry and hit the the buy it button with out realising that it is only manual. Flash.. uggghh.. I know people would say why use ttl, i know manual will do the job but im too lazy to learn how to use it lol.. Ps. I consider my self worse than amateur :)
I really like the Godox system for fuji however when using the x1t-f trigger on my xt2 I find it freezes the camera every so often. Anyone else experimenting this??
I have never shot only hss on a entire battery but I would have to guess around 400-500. Since you can get up too 650 1/1 full power shots on one battery.
the nissin units with trigger are the ones id GRAB heading out the door, but F***CK, it s$270 more $$$$$$ teh Godox units, other than price, have 2 main advantage over ALL others....>AF assist and HSS FLASH COMP , which is the toughest for any speedlight to do well.
Get the AD200 Ken! HSS takes power for out of doors work with your XT. Trust me on this...way better quality of light from the bare bulb in a light mod too! Put the speedlight on a light modifier and shoot a person and the dam thing will not go off if you get too close. Minor, but it can be frustrating when you are shooting for soft light from a speedlight. My only significant bitch
Angry whats up, in some previous videos you hate Godox to death, and now where its the only system who supports HSS for fuji with you stick with it. Angry common..... just kidding enjoy it. its a good system.
@Theoria Apophasis
What do You think of the Godox TT350f model, compared to TT685f?
Apparently (haven't looked at mine) the rebranded Flashpoint versions have well written user manuals. Glad to see you finally try these and that you like them.

Will it reliably fire with speed light in one hand & the camera in the other? Or is that not far enough?
Told you these Godox system are good. They also use Texas Instrument's RF systems so triggering from a long distance is very reliable.
I had a feeling you'd be impressed by the Godox. I no longer purchase Nikon speedlights for this very reason ( although I still own my plethora of Nikon flashes ). Can i control my tt685f with tt350f attached to fuji x-t2, without the need of buying a trigger like x1tf? Thank you Ken, and keep on going!
heheheh good question! i dont think so however :/
These units were both out 2 months ago when you said Godox was trash, what changed?

Great review Ken, thank you
for STROBE/ STUDIO work, id never consider Godox..... that still stands.
stobes are speedlights are 2 diff things
Ken their AD600 stobe has outstanding reviews - especially considering its price point.
So unless you have first hand experience otherwise I would think it would be more logical to think your experience with their speed light would suggest that perhaps their other products offer good quality for a very fair price.
I wish I could have you review my AD600, it really is amazing.
You are wrong dude. My kid has a carload of them and no troubles at all. I use 2 (ad200s) in my backpack...I don't own a Nikon speedlight anymore.

Wow Ken, this is a first. Highest recommendation for a Godox Product. Hey, if it works best - roll with it.
Have you tested the compact TT350 from Godox yet ?
Hi Ken.. Will you test ti with the GFX when you get home? THANKS!
Wait so what is the velcro for?
Have this for Sony and works great. Glad to hear it works as well for fuji. Thanks
The 350f is neat too. If someone wants cheap they can double as a trigger. The xt1f kinda blocks some controls on my x100f but other than that no major gripes.
Does the 685 AF assist beam work or only the X1T-F trigger works?
I was wondering why you blacked out the Fujifilm logos on the camera.
Hey Ken it would be nice if you had quickly shown how to get these working together since the manual is crap. I have mine working after I figured out the flash has to be in slave mode to the wireless trigger. This is my first trigger though so I'm not an expert for sure. Thanks for the review.
This is the speedlight that I use. Not that difficult to use. Pretty simple to me. I think I may get a couple more. It is cheap and it works. 🤔👍🏻
Any plans on looking at the AD200? I’ve been eyeing that one ever since I got the Trigger and the TT350f. Would love to know your thoughts on it. :)

now it's time for the eVolve 200. Another great piece of gear, Ken! ps. The Adorama version has great instruction manual.
You mentioned the external flash unit doesn't fire reliably unless it is at least three (3) feet from the transmitter and said "Not a problem." Hmmm, I think that could be a BIG PROBLEM for macro photography!
will this trigger the Godox AD 200 flashes? I'm assuming it will, but you know about assuming.... nevermind, I just found that it does...
Have there been any banding issues w/ the speedlite in HSS at shutter speeds of 1/2000 and above? Just curious
Any recommended cable to go with the flash that works with TTL, HSS and all the fancy stuff? or am I good with whatever Canon TTL cable?
just a normal canon TTL cable, the VELO cable
Hi Ken, don't know if understand properly but its possible to trigger Nissin i60 with this Godox wireless trigger? Thanks for your great videos absolutely you are Ace spasiba
i never mentioned anything like that
I told you Ken that you will like Godox. It is awesome hardware. Now, go try the Godox AD200! The power of 3 speedlights in your pocket! Amazing.
welllllllll :) hehehe
When I press my shutter button , there is a delay before my flash and shutter fire when I use this trigger on my Nikon ? It's doing my head in.
Great review! I have been using these. I'm looking forward to the new trigger though.
Nice to hear this!
I already have Canon RT600 speedlight. Can I use it with Fujifilm x-t2 ? I want to use Manual mode only.

Lol, you didnt mentioned the recycle time compared to the nissins. Use the v860, cost more but faster rt....so you wont miss alot of shots
Do you have a video on high to make a high speed sync beauty box inexpensively?
Do i need flash trigger for TT600 to fujigilm xt20?
I use this trigger & receiver on my speedlight but for some reason the receiver goes to sleep mode (or maybe the speed light) when its off camera and not in use for a few mins.... means having to walk back to my speedlight :( any help? using the Shanny SN600SN (for nightclub photography)

I really like the Godox system for fuji however when using the x1t-f trigger on my xt2 I find it freezes the camera every so often. Anyone else experimenting this??
Think that will be my next buy 👍 and a load of battery's...stick it on D700
Get the V860II with the Li-ion batteries and yo will only need 2 (at the most) I average about 700-850 shots per charge on each battery carried.
Rubi Doo cool. Cheers how many Hss shots would you get off 860II battery ?
I have never shot only hss on a entire battery but I would have to guess around 400-500. Since you can get up too 650 1/1 full power shots on one battery.

No other option for studio strobe HSS with Fuji than Godox/Flashpoint. Unfortunate but it is what it is, at least for now.
ACTUAL studio work never requires HSS for obvious reasons :)
Get the AD200 Ken!

ill STILL never own a godox strobe..... speedlights another matter
thought u said Godox was junk :D :D :D
id never buy their STOBE units......... speedlights another matter.
Paul C Buff has them beat by miles
