I like to PvP, and PvE. Usually wearing an Exo Suit nowadays. Unlocking it is easy with no cheats needed anymore, and usually on a server, official or unofficial, I'm not fussed. Single Player is great though, certainly with a guide for any platform be it xbox, ps4, ps5, pc, it's great. Sometimes play MTS, and usually post patch/update. But a survival game needs some community news and that's what I do, giving you the latest on events, small tribes, maybe even fast flyers and primitive plus, usually covering all maps from Island to Genesis Part 2. And one day. ARK 2!

@@engetsuren1702 With the exodus of Ark players, there might actually be a chance. It's very similar, so easy to adapt to and get into, so the learning curve is a lot easier, it has similar gameplay since it's basically a DLC... I think if this was last year, I'd agree with you 100%, but right now? We actually have a lot of Ark players like me who bought Atlas and then just left it sitting in their library after a little bit of gameplay. (82 hours for me, then nothing for years.) It's a chance for Atlas to actually see a good resurgence, and streamers like Raas playing it is a sure way to get at least some of them to try it again. Worked on me! 😂
Edit: To clarify: I don't expect it to completely replace Ark in any way, but just think it's a good game to play while we wait for the next big one to come out. Maybe Starfield will be huge like that? Maybe a new dino survival game will come out of nowhere and be mesh-monkey-proof from day 1? But in the meantime, I think Atlas might have a good place as a filler. Still not Ark, but in a month here... There will be a lot of displaced gamers.

Interestingly enough, my grandfather loves Atlas and plays it all the time. He originally played ARK, but he liked Atlas a lot more. He says it's frustrating given how much they're constantly screwing the players over, but he seems to like it all the same.
Me too! I am a grandfather also and have been playing Atlas since day one. playing on PC with mods is the best experiance.

Ive been making a 100 days with my friend on this and its one of the funniest / most broken game in existence, I don't think it deserves as much hate as it gets though
Its because of xbox it still gets so much hate, but PC was supposed to look bad a few months ago they fixed it, xboxone has always looked bad and series X has looked bad for the last year
@@AMzeeSurvival Yeah, the PC version now is SO much better looking than at launch. It was so broken then... But now? It's beautiful by comparison. Especially the ocean. That's just... Perfect. (How your ship moves through it though... Yeah. Oof.)

@@VibinSealz no this is really bad its not like Ark, imagine Ark after getting pepper sprayed while chopping onions at the same time. Ark has atleast 10x better graphics when the previous year Atlas looked better.
@MoonRocks ark is at most 2x better ark was garbage, especially for the first year of launch.
Consider the fact ark and witcher 3 released in the same year.
There's a lot to love and a lot to hate about Atlas. Be careful if you decide to do any taming.
Wow raas on atlas. I followed this for ages! Actually made alot of the buildings on jade's old spoof trailer he did for atlas years back. I still have it now and a pc decent enough to play it but not been on for over a year, think you may have tempted me back cheers 👍

Atlas has never been ark but I love this as a side game to ark... Glad to see you getting into it
It also might be a good thing to play while a lot of gamers look for the next big one. Similar gameplay and UI, so easy to adapt to, and pretty similar in a lot of ways. Even the same trap designs for taming, though the process is different. Might make a good game to play while waiting for maybe Starfield if it's really good or something else?

I read that title and had to do a double take - 4 years? OMG, time flies when you're playing Ark apparently
Atlas is practically impossible to solo, and ideally you want 3 or more members in your party, but I can't wait to see what else the two of you do!
Can't wait to see you discover some of the cooler aspects of the game (no spoilers or clues, though!).
(And to those about to say it, I realize there are some mitigating things done to help solo players, but nothing beats real teammates. And let's let him figure that stuff out naturally. Best way to become skilled is to learn it yourself in games like Ark/Atlus, after all!)
The beginner areas aren't really meant to be built on and even if you manage to, they will decay fast like as if you built in a cave on Ark. This is to help keep it decluttered.
Watch out for SODs {Ships Of The Damn}! Speed sail and head for the nearest island to park on. Get a Grapple to get the floating loot with.
You have to level up to tame and it's different when it's not a straight up passive tame. I like the learning system they have.
You can build on the boats.... I still remember our armored turtle boats and our kiting boats XD. Make sure you put a bed on the boat.

Duuuude! never thought id see the day you play Atlas! i played this game when it first released non stop for about 16months, yes it has its bugs but its a great game! one thing though, you need a good few members in your company to make sure you get to unlock all those skills, Monarky would be awesome to do that if they were up to it!
After watching this episode you've made me relsied why i loved this game once upon a time, i might even have to try it out again but on pc instead of Xbox. I quit on xbox due to SERIOUS lag issues when bases were too big - enough to keep you kicked out of a server when trying to raid :(

I'm on the unpopular personal opinion, that ATLAS was one of the great games I loved, and its no wonder as I love ARK and ATLAS is build on the same engine.
Its been changed a lot thought since I've played it on release, so no idea what's the state of it these days...
not just the same engine just the same game lol there was literally a hidden ark menu you could bring up
@@niox1920 I know I know, I completely disagree with that, but only someone who didn't really played ATLAS would say that.
Similarity's doesn't make a game the same.
For example ARK has a raft and a canoe. ATLAS has different ships with intricate mechanisms.
ARK has taming, ATLAS has them too, but they are treated differently ,while ark has many taming methods, mostly necro tame, then feed it, ATLAS doesn't have necro, and taming need specific food, which in ARK only increase efficiency etc.
ATLAS has treasure hunting and undead pirates ,stuff like fountain of youth and more, which ARK doesn't have.
I could go on and on, really not the same game.
Its like you said sim city is the same as other city building games. That doesn't make them the same game.
Like I said it was build on the ARK engine, that's about it, the games themselves offer completely different experience.

Atlas is actually pretty fun
IMO Atlas has SOO many features that are leagues better than ARK. Such a shame that people wont try it out after it's launch. Seriously has improved and is a BEAUTIFUL game.
Glad to head that Ark survivial Ascended will be taking so many of these features and bringing theme to ARK. Sucks the devs have backslapped us sooo many times, but here's to hoping ASA is a fun journey!
It is a great game. I’ve played a lot on Xbox. Private and solo. But they do updates sometimes and it resets. I spent 80$ years ago when it came out and have been waiting for a finished game.
Yeah for future reference, when you build a boat, it’s naturally a mobile base an therefore requires a bed at all times for proper recovery.
Holy crap I forgot about this game…. Never got it but it had potential.

cool that you played it, i never found this game as bad as everyone made it out to be, it has a lot of features that are really interesting, just unfortunately a terrible realese.
And this water bug is pretty weird, i know it didn't exist at realese and the last time i played it, but we are used to such types of bugs from ark aren't we
And everytime I load into this game and start playing it I end up settling to some Island that's got massive bases on it and it takes me 20 minutes just to get my ship turned around and sailed back out to sea

I do have a love hate relationship with this the building is top notch and has many ark qualities I love
I played Atlas a fair bit, I had high hopes for it. Like ARK, private servers can address a lot of the short-comings in the current state of the game. Though if you are thinking of actually doing anything with it, you definitely need a Company (Tribe) to get anywhere, it is even more anti-solo than ARK.
Raas needs to stick up for the Ark gaming community - carrying water for WC

I remember playing a solo server and built a big ship but not many crew so i sailed it out. It was big and had many canons but was low level with low level crew. First time was a high level ghost ship second time i made a smaller one with no crew and the fucking krakin took it
My God, Why hasn't WildCard ported these boats to ARK?
They could at least make them singleplayer or creative mode only.
Need to get that claim tower into a better spot, it's essentially your crown valut in monarky but can be destroyed easily by ship or land cannons. Oh, and your claim also shows up on the big map for everyone to see.

Hey mate you dont want to build your base on the coast. One cannon on a ship can get into your base and raid you. Best to be inland behind a rock so you wont deal with coastal raiders.

I like Atlas, love the thought and idea of it, but whoooa man have the owners of it crapped on it everyday since release.
I feel as if all the money/time that went into Atlas, if it was rerouted and put into Ark, could have made Ark what we all wanted (with a lot less bugs)
Why don't they take the atlas servers down and use them for the new ark. It's because it's not about the servers, it's about forcing us to buy the new version of ark
I used to despise this game's existence when it came out. Eventually got it on sale out of curiosity in around the past year, it's really fun though I was singleplayer and didn't get super far.
also the biggest flaw atlas has is definitly the dedicated server situation, with ark if i want to play with friends i just buy a server and thats that, with atlas though? its a different story, and frankly its a shame, yeah the blackwoods map solves that issue to some degree as you have all resources etc on one larger tile but atlas isnt atlas unless you spent HOURS sailing IMO

Great Game Raas, only the PVP servers are really toxic from our experience, if you need some guides though my other channel bloodcoco has some guides on atlas as PVE is more chill and not as toxic as PVP is. Getting gold is simple though, sail and collect the crates in the water and or go around the island shores and collect the maps and go treasure hunting. just make sure you tame a bear first as they are the best when treasure hunting.
Omg, I forgot this game existed lol I had a lot of fun when it first came out, but it got boring after a few hundred hours lol

@@Raasclark DSRP (@darksiderp4034) the biggest Unofficial Server in ATLAS run by a streamer that is RP heavy populated *basically* the entire ATLAS community
(how big you asked, steam chart pops dropped when the last season ended abruptly thanks to GrapeShot)
basically MonARKy version of ATLAS because of most ATLAS/RP streamers play in that server, my YT channel has highlights of the server itself and posted a twit of one
currently prepping for the new season as in New Map mods, QOL, RP, and PVP tweaks, and a dedicated VOIP

I tried to replay it not that long ago. I couldn't get back into it. It just can't be what it was the first few months after release.
As buggy as this game is , i enjoyed the heck out of Atlas its very fun solo or with a friends.

Interesting game but no Ark. Have thought about trying it again.
