If anyone actually takes the time to look up her case, you would see she now has been released on her own recognizance in her husband’s custody only for him to transport her to a facility. She is now in a 90 day inpatient facility. Alcoholism is no joke, I pray she heals.

I showed up to court drunk once, but it was from the night before (well, like till 3-4am). My roommate & I had forgotten about the appearance. He woke up to pee around 8am & saw the reminder on his computer screen. We stumbled in there hella loaded.
I remember the judge asking my friend if he’d been drinking that morning & the gallery started cracking up, especially since we were there for allegedly stealing 40’s of beer from the Dairy Mart, our place of employment🤣
What really happened is that is was after 2am, so we gave the money to the guy who was working the night shift & told him to just ring it up at 7am, when alcohol sales were legal again, something all the overnight guys did for friends & other employees. Instead this narc called the cops.

Its an awful situation to be in, she probably couldn't have got to court without a drink inside her. I've been there myself and to turn up sober would mean being in alcohol withdrawal with the dry retching, shakes, crippling fear, sweats and hallucinations. I find it hard to even think about it today it's just so powerful, a seemingly small drink in the morning to relax you ends up a full on drunk again and again. The way I was stopped was losing the ability to walk and wearing diapers in a hospital bed and heavily sedated. I was so fortunate not to die like my little brother and father, they lost the battle and died young. Ive been sober 6 years now and am reasonably fit and well.

If Kim ever sees this, and anyone struggling with addiction - you are NOT alone. Addiction takes down the best of us - some of the brightest, most intelligent, brilliant, kind hearted, compassionate people I know are addicts, and I am as well. I'm so glad to see you've gone into rehab, and my prayer for you is that you see your worth, despite your failures, and know that you are fully supported. Healing comes through our brokenness and willingness to face our pain head on, walk through the fire, and come out refined, stronger, smarter, and more anxious than ever to live out the freedom that comes with sobriety. Sending love from Seattle❤

My late husband lost three jobs in six years owing to his alcoholism. I was going to pack up and leave - and the day I made that decision, the moment I got home, he told me he had been diagnosed with cancer. It was a 'bad' cancer (not that there are good ones) and the prognosis was he had two years to live. I stayed until he died.
I used to be bitter that Late H never tried to stop drinking. Then one day, someone said, "Maybe he couldn't." And maybe that's true. Maybe sometimes an addict gets to the point that he or she really, truly can't. This woman went to some program, checked herself out, and showed up to court drunk. Hopefully, she won't kill someone else, because she's nowhere near quitting.

She understands. She understands that when she defaults to playing the victim, she usually weasels out of getting in trouble. She also understands that her husband, children, friends and family usually stick their head in the sand and pretend not to see she’s drunk so she doesn’t have to change and stop drinking. She understands all of it. What she doesn’t understand is these officers are trying to save her life.
