- I was back at Dans house today performing the long crank 6.0 LQ4 swap into his 1971 Chevy Chevelle. Ill have another video showing us getting the long crank 6.0 bolted to the Muncie M21 and the headaches it caused us. In the end we were successful .
Basically we used simple 1 inch setback adapter plates on the factory small block mounting hardware. The engine mounts and transmission location were stock. No modifications required. Stock driveshaft etc... easy as pie.
Not only not their car, you can get 454 cubic inches out of an LS
For a whole Lotta money!!!.....but yea it could be done!!!!.....for the crybaby purists!!

What's your channel. I know I'm 2 years late but I have a 70 lemans and have questions. Like can you keep the factory truck intake , and accessory brackets 🤔

Truth is , back in the 60s and 70s, no one was trying to keep these cars original. It was whatever works, whatever makes power, whatever makes it fast was the go to part. If LS motors were available then, people would've swapped them in then too.
im going through this right now 71 elco ls1/t56 we had to shim the frame mounts to fit the f body pan
What oil pan was used? I have 72 and oil pan hits crossmember before motor mount bolts line up. Needs at least another inch.

I'm with u on the 6.0 guys, it your project make it to your needs....I just swapped out my 4.8 for a ls3 headed lq9, in my 74 nova, couldn't be happier! !!......I like the mucie idea though!!!!!

That car is going to be sick! This time next year im going thur my motor!! Think I'm gon keep it simple maybe a nice cam with some 243 heads vs the 317s i have now!! Going to keep it all motor no turbos or anything like that
Theres a very recent video of Cleetus and his guys putting a cam in his corvette and they didnt remove the rockers or even the valve covers on r&r on a bigger cam? Seems wrong? They did some turning of it during the job. Look it up and watch. Its last cam swap they did.
