- The 2 Chevelle's you see here are the first couple of "production" Chevelle's from Ironworks Speed & Kustom and they are truly wonderful. Built to look really good but mostly built for the simple joy of driving a well built muscle car. Speedtech Performance chassis, supercharged LT4 power, choice of 6 speed manual or 10 speed automatic and everything you want and nothing that you don't so sit back and enjoy the ride...

Love the Chevelles. Good to see a 1971. Seems like 99.99% of Chevelle builds are always 1970’s which I do love but the 1971 has a killer look and this one has a Sleeper look. Both Chevelles are stunning but great look to the 1971. As always great episode and great cars. Thank you

I had a 68 Malibu,
I know, not the speed demon or the collector car but Hay,
I traveled all over Baja, nice big car to sleep in and the 307 got great gas mileage and can get parts anyplace.
We could fit 4 friends in the trunk and 2 cases of beer for the drive in movies.
Sold it in 92 for $1,200 bucks!😭
I think about the car and great times we had quite often and wish I had it today!💯❤

This two-door Chevelle is one of my all-time favorites. Beautiful styling and lots of room inside. I just wish it wouldn't take so much money to modernize these cars but it does.

I am GM guy that works for Ford, but loves the old Chrysler's! The Chevelle is a American legend from 64-72! My grandfather had a 70 SS Cranberry red with black stripes and saddle interior! 396 TH400 12 bolt and 4:10 gears!
My grandfather had the same color on what I think was a '72 Malibu (I could be wrong) and seeing this car brought back some great memories.

I love both of these Chevelles, and this idea. But $345-500,000 pushes it way outside of the range of many including me. And it looks like they have the 71-72 rear bumper on the 70?
I love how it's not placed on some way over the top rims, but keeps it looking extremely cool, yet subtle. COOL car!
The look is simple but the mechanical and drivability is far from it
@@AutotopiaLA Exactly. I will never call it a sleeper. You can tell by the rear tire, that this machine is meant to go! You should think twice testing this machine on a red light, that is for damned sure! But those subtle rims. None of the above, nore are they below. It just fits the car nostalgic wise, know what I mean? No showboating here, but it'll kick you ass from here to the moon. WHAT! a car! What a car! Absolutely B.E.A.!

I was buying these cars CHEAP in the 90s and got more miles driven and fun out of them then these guys paying big bucks ever will. None of mine were garage queens
@@BruceLee-xn3nn yeah I’m not a big fan of guys putting modern power plants on these cars. Takes away from the nostalgic-ness of the cars.
Aside from the cost , which I totally understand given the work involved , this is how these older classics need to be built .
Trends come & go but leaving a car as close to the way it came from the factory with modern safety comfort & performance upgrades is something that never goes out of style.
Ive been keen on the Nova and Chevelle recently. This concept looks outstanding. Sadly, that price point will leave many of us ol school car lovers out of that equation.
The price is big but what a cool concept
I have a 68 swb, big window C10. I have absolutely got to put a set of those Forgeline wheels on it like the one's on the gold Chevelle. They look like the old stock wheels, but come in larger diameters and are 3-piece. Then finish them off with the dog dish center cap...ooooohh weeeee!!
19s and 20s, never liked them but on this car with the black wheels and caps you can’t tell. Love it!

I really enjoy when you showcase builders like these guys, Roadster Shop etc. it is amazing to learn about the whole build as well as getting a peak into the business model of the owners. Keep it up Shawn.

For a “production” restomod like this, if they kept the price starting with a 2, I think it’d sell a lot better. 4-500k is what people want for a fully restored one…..

Dude, Shawn, this thing is AWESOME!!!!!! I am not the biggest fan of vinyl roofs but this really brings this car togehter! I absolutely love this car! The look, the paint, the stance, F-ing everything! This thing is RAD!!!!!!!!! I won't lie, I love the exterior more than the interior, but like he said, it is still a work in progress. Freaking awesome looking car!

At 17 I had a 72 Sleeper similar to the 71 in the video. White with a light blue vinyl top, and light blue bench seat interior, column shift. Steel wheels with the rears custom made 1 inch larger diameter and 2 in wider. Basic full wheel hubcaps. Built 396. Turbo 400 trans. Total sleeper. Shocked the hell out of almost everyone that revved at a stop light. Only problem was even with the custom rear wheels, I got no grip at full throttle.
3:43 What??? The yellow 71 Chevrolet has the 10 speed auto with the LT4??? That’s sexxaaaayyy!!!! modernization at its finest these old muscle cars had a second chance at life

These guys are crazy, there trying to make this a multi millionaire hobby. Their trying to outdo the greats, Troy, Chip, the Ring Bros.etc with out making a one-off full custom build, but with the same price!!

Chevelles drive great in relatively stock form if everything is in good shape. Just my opinion.
You are exactly right. WTF was he talking about when he said Chevelles drive awful? He's never even been in a new 70' Chevelle not even strapped in a baby seat. Chevelles were nice riding cars from the factory.
