My parents in 1982 used red carpeting in there bedroom. There was enough left over to do my 71 Firebird. I had bright red carpet with a black interior. I did add the carpet tail which was bright red between the seats.
The 1971 Firebirds had a vinyl piece between the seats. Later years the carpet tail was added. You could use your vinyl fabric between the seats. There is a reproduction of the rare rear console option available.
I know its a little late now but if you use upholstery foam with the fabric backing it will help make it much better and for the glue use the DAP Products Weldwood Landau Top it wont melt the foam
@@MaverickModds Yes it is if you put it on over the foam or plastic it gives a very smooth looking finish it takes out all the lumps and bumps I usually use 3/8 and i get reults like i know what im doing
If I remember correctly, my 1975 had a piece of black vinyl to cover the hump between the rear seats...if anyone had to sit on this it called you had a Firebird a$$.... ha ha!

I'm trying to picture that and block out the memories of the green shag carpet remnants that wound up in our van back in the '70s 😵

In keeping with my "theme" for the interior, I'm going to fab up a center console. Might as well 😃
Good info on the carpet. I'll have to write that down about the tail when I order mine.
Well, don't rely on me cuz I'm still confused!

I needed rigid foam for the side panels. Isn't upholstery foam, umm, mushy?

When cars had ashtrays in the back...those were the days.
Yep, and people didn't roll there windows down to blow the smoke out 🤢
I have used moving blankets for sound deadening. Cheap and readily avaialble and thick sometimes to thick but it works great.

That whole tail vs. no tail still has me confused!
is your headliner a one piece instead of bows? and if so where did you get it?
Headliner is one-piece. A good chunk of the next video will deal with the headliner. Check it out!
