Love You To Death, Everything Dies, and September Sun, are some of my favorites. The lyrics in Everything Dies, and in September Sun, really make you think. They're very dark, serious, and truthful. The only song that I've heard that I didn't like was Christian Woman. It sounds like that the song implies that the Woman in the song wants to make love to Jesus Christ. I draw the line at that kind of song. I see it as Blasphemy!
Me too, I've been listening to October Rust on the way to and from work. Brings back a lot of memories for me when I bought the album when it first came out...doesn't seem possible that much time has passed.

The smoke machine on max output, the green light shining from behind, Peter towering over the mist while playing the contrabass and enjoying another bottle of wine. Oooh what a great time! TONF, FTON.
Sad that Peter's condition would decline a couple of years after this. Heartbreaking that he was sober for almost a year when he had passed away after years of heavy drug use. :/ he looks great here.

Finally went back to this just to see Pete. Was a Stern fan for a long time but was kinda bummed to see this again. Peter was from the same place Stern was. They had just come off a platinum record and Howard went for hyperbole to a certain degree. It says it all when Pete looks at Kenny right when they start the song and makes the geeze fuck it face knowing the interview sucked and they have to just get through it. For the peeps that are fretting over the damaged equipment and early morning shenanigans give Josh a break... he was the baddest keyboardist since Mozart... and his ear wasn't way off either. ;) He can bust up cheap equipment that he doesn't play for show any time. My only words of encouragement would be not to make the mistake of passing them over at face value - dig in (luckily the music is easy on the ears ;) ) and get to know the guys and the music. No better story and no better music. ...as you can tell I miss them...

I heard this live while truckin' like a novacaine hurricane on the East-fucking-Coast. The band's version of Neil's masterpiece was very nicely done and had a spooky, heavily updated feel to it. I dig Stern but really hate his lib politics. A fuckin' great Radio man that entertained many of us as we made our way through the dreary mornings driving in to work... or those of us AT WORK (while driving). RIP Pete.
