I’m a 71 year old grandmother and have never canned a thing in my life but you have inspired me to try. It really helped me to move past a deep depression after my husband died from COVID two years ago. I love your inspirational messages they have really touched my heart. Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your gardening journey, without worrying about getting everything exactly perfect! As someone who has four little kids and a husband, who works full time, and a lot to juggle, and who also enjoys gardening, I find it way more inspiring to watch someone who just goes for it and does the best they can and learns along the way, then to watch someone waits until they have all the experience and knowledge, and has everything all together, before they proceed.... You make me feel like I'm not stupid for just going for it even though I don't always have the perfect scenario! And that nutshell, is why I prefer to watch you garden, instead of some of the" Instagram perfect" gardeners out there! I think you're going to have a great 2023 garden! ❤

I know you almost have super power but I’m concerned. I get it that the garden makes you happy, awesome. My concern is when the massive amount of produce will have to be harvested and put up. Tomatoes can be frozen for a later date so that’s good. So you’ll fill up all your freezers with tomatoes. But beans take a long time to pick and then can. Freeze drier can only go so fast which isn’t fast at all. Please don’t work yourself sick! I did that working 2 jobs and it took longer than I expected to regain my health. Care about you!

Third when you hit a roadblock--go do something else. Take your vitamins, I can't tell you how much better you will feel. Last but not least, pray and one prayer I have to say often is the serenity prayer. Give yourself a break, it's going to be fine. I hope this helps

I too, have days like that, where I feel like everything is a mess and I don’t know what I’m doing, and I agree that finding something to get busy with that gives me joy and purpose like cooking or baking for my family or working in the garden helps me feel better, some days you just have to give to God! Days like this start grumpy and feeling like oh gosh everything isn’t okay, not quite right, and then by the end of the day, I feel very blessed because instead of being stuck in that emotion, I choose to go out of my way to pray, spend time with my children and I make memories with them, we play/work in the garden and I stay off of my phone. Recharging helps. I admire you, Jamerill. You truly are such a beautiful soul and you’ve helped me very much. Big healing hugs and prayers sent your way. ❤

Jamerrill, i have a suggestion about your garden and direct seeding: get some rooting powder, it will help your seeds to germinate...just a suggestion.

You're doing fine with the garden. Picking smaller harvests consistently every other day for most crops will keep the plants setting more product. As plants come out, plan ahead to put the next crop in. 😊

Please pray for rain in all the drought areas. I'm in central Illinois and every rain lately has dusted us or missed us. We are blessed with well water but its not the same as rain and the air is so dry also. Garden definitely has been affected by it. Blessings to all. Thank you.

Be kind to yourself - make some watermelon juice to help your body or eat some watermelon with a little salt and you'll support your body getting rid of the sugar. Enjoy your gardening and keep drinking x

Thank you! I honestly have to say a big thank you to you being an open book. I started a youtube channel after my son died last year. As a mom to 14 children the day my son died through son weird situation both my husband and myself lost our FT income. Praise the Lord my hubby is back at work but we are on a much lower income. I keep telling myself one day at a time sweet Jesus. Somedays you just need to go through the motions. Thank you for being so open!

I have needed exactly what you're talking about AND how do home things shift when you get to both be home! It's hard! It's a whole new normal. That's where we are in our large family right now. You inspired me to start an online business. Can't wait for the course to open!!

I've done a three sisters garden for years. You want pole beans, to vine up the corn, and you want your squash plants to bush out between the mounds to keep the weeds down. It's a great, efficient way to plant!

I appreciate your honesty so much and your biblical encouragement. Another scripture that helps me so much when I feel the way you feel like my plans just aren't working or coming together like they should and I feel cranky or grumpy about it is Proverbs 16:9, "A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps." So many times my things not working out and having to move to something else or another plan is just the Lord directing what He wants me to accomplish or to get done that day for whatever or whoever else's need. So when I can take a breath and release the frustration and say, 'ok God, what do YOU have planned for this moment, usually it comes together and I have the peace that follows with it. Don't know if you or anyone will ever see this, but I appreciate you and I guess I feel a release just getting it out because God has really been trying to get this one into my spirit. Love y'all and God bless from Pennsylvania Amish country ❤😊

I don't usually comment, but I do want to tell you that you are not alone and feeling not happy. It's been a rough two weeks for my family. My husband broke his leg. I am now guardian for my grandmother. There has been so much going on in my life. I have definitely felt overwhelmed and frustrated and all of the feelings that you are feeling. I'm glad that I watched your video because I know I'm not the only one going through the struggle.

Jamerrill, my dear momma was an only child. Then when she married and had her first three kids in the first 4 years of her marriage (before disposable diapers) then her forth child when she thought she was about to get some free time with all three were in school. I remember her mk they, My Nana, watching us often because we would wear my momma out.
But when momma leaned on Jesus, she was able to recognize the bad days for what they were:
“This day is a gift from our Heavenly Father from above with His love and guidance and strength, so that when we have a good day we might recognize it.”

I haven't tried 3 sisters recently but one consideration is to use beans that mature and dry on the vine and winter squash that stay on vine to harden till fall. Its very hard to use green pole beans that need picking every couple of days and try to pick it effectively while wading through the squash and corn...

Thank you for sharing.. I am 33 with three babies.. almost 7, 4 and just turned 3.. I have taken in alot.. we pulled my oldest out of public school in April of this year bc the lord said to.. I decided to taken on a big move at the same time and put together our first garden which was successful but not as big as I had hoped.. my health has been better but I have somethings there to work threw and my heart has pushed me to not only get a prep. Pantry ready but also really get serious about the ingredients we eat and that means learning how to really cook and then doing it.. I'm enjoying it.. loving it but somedays I do feel like everything is wrong and I'm all wrong and not enough.. I know it to shall pass but it's nice to hear a momma I have watched and look up to for years be real and admit to those rough days as well!!
