Hi Jamerrill this is probably going to sound silly. But I’m a 37 year old woman, who lives alone. Both my parents are very toxic and dangerous people. So as an adult I’ve had to cut them out my life despite loving them. I’m still trying to heal from the trauma they caused. Then one day I found you, and your channel. And I find you to be a comfort to me, almost in a motherly way. That’s the strange bit, as I think I’m not much younger than you. But yeah I’ve been watching for about a year now. This is the first time I’ve commented. But just wanted to thank you for getting me threw some very dark times. Much love from the UK ❤❤

My youngest daughter did homemade vanilla for Christmas gifts 2 years ago and last year she made washable paper towels as gifts. Each person got a roll of 10 towels. She gives out to about 30 people. Wonderful gifts. This year I think she’s making a family spice blend for Christmas gifts.
So she sews ....The other half was one of 10 kids and early Christmas Eve filled the kitchen, dining area, and living room of a split level house with all the assorted relatives. The tradition was to give to the kids only but, I was determined that we would give to the adults and/ or families without going broke. I made a lot of kitchen towels out of uocycled bed sheets, curtains, thrift store yardage, etc... either as the gift or in addition to something else. Just hard cotton larger than some bi0ut much smaller than the big flour sacking towels. It makes me SO happy when I see that our wonderful friend Jamerrill has gifted us with a new video and the first thing I always do is check to see how long it is and get even MORE excited, how about y’all? One thing I was thinking about when you were prepping the jam that we like is we mash our berries rather than blitz then you get some nice berry pieces every now and then on your toast/pb&j…..anyhoo, thanks again! ❤️😘
Jammerill, you can also make orange, lemon and cinnamon extracts the same way with the vodka. Use cinnamon sticks for the cinnamon, orange peels for the orange and the zest of 2-3 lemons for the lemon. On the lemon make sure to not get the pith or it will give you a bitter extract. I love making homemade extracts.
Thanks for the tips on making your on lemon extract , lime extract, orange extract etc and I never thought of making a cinnamon extract using cinnamon sticks that’s fantastic I’m gonna have to do that !Blessings💕
Hello from Florida, I’m just a little over an hour from where they are grown. My husband and I quarter and cook down when we make Jam, however it’s interesting to see the emulsion process for yours. You certainly found an awesome price on those Strawberries. And please keep updated on the vanilla. I usually put 3 bean pods in jars (we get from hobby lobby when they are on sale. Thanks Mama for bringing us in your beautiful kitchen.
Thank you so much Jammerill!!! This help us folks that don’t have the money to freeze dry or dehydrate. Canning is such a good idea. Thank you again always love watching you I’m a visual learner so this helps so much!!❤️
When my younger son was in high school I volunteered 1 hour a day to tutor some of the kids in math. I used Hershey bar math, M&M's, skittles and Gummys to teach fractions. The visual really helped some of them to "see" what a fraction was. Hands on makes so much more sense that just numbers on paper. This is how kids learn best, by doing and seeing the results.
I’m gonna do vanilla too. Thanks for the tips. I can’t wait to try it. I love watching you in the kitchen, it’s like being at your friends house helping in the kitchen
It’s so easy and when you use it you’ll feel great knowing you made it . Since I have started making it I’ve kept it going but I almost ran out cause I got down to my last jar before making more ! Blessings💕
WTG Jamerrill you’re prepping for the holiday season, you bring a whole new meaning to “doing all the things”. Love Mary’s Nest on RUclips, she also makes lots of other extracts too.
I love your story. Young Jamerrill had to survive on rice and peas but her children will never go hungry! I am 67 and a retired dietitian. I still can and make ahead meals even though it's just the two of us because of days like today when I was tired and could just open a jar of delicious home canned beef stew.

I’m loving that you are making your own vanilla extract! Loving the banana bread! Those machines probably would be good to keep your kitchen cool in the summer months 👍🏼
It’s so good and easy to do too .. I just bought some vanilla beans a couple weeks ago to start a fresh batch going .I put mine in a sterilized pint jar and lid Blessings 💕
I love your conversations with the eggs 😂. Thank you for always posting such inspiring content. I’m new to canning and I finally have a four tier shelf full of meats and broth and sauces. I always have you on in the background while working on my preservation projects ❤
Hi Jamerrill! I recently found you channel and you quickly became a favorite! I can relate so much to your story. I’m also learning as I go! Just wanted to let you know that you’re such an inspiration to me and many others!
I made a lot of preserves this past summer. I just cooked down the fruit with lemon and the minimum amount of coconut sugar I could use, and cut some tartness. Then cook till the natural pectin formed and then canned. I watch Rose Red Homestead for canning directions on a lot of things. I didn’t use pectin and I didn’t measure anything. Came out great, but it’s definitely a thinner preserves. Yours looks great.
If you do not want to write vinegar on the side of your canners then put the word vinegar on the envelopes that your weights go into. So when you go to get the canner set up with water and you take the weights envelopes out of them, you can add vinegar and then. Because you will see your note.

I let my vanilla sit for 1 year and use Valentine Vodka (local to me). It’s incredible. Highly recommend. I used a glass jar and it takes no room up at all so it’s totally easy to keep. I shake mine every 6 weeks.
I so appreciate this video and why might surprise you. Hubby and I just bought a new build house in South Korea!! We caught it before the kitchen was installed so I got to customize it! We got to see a neighbors finished kitchen they customized also for a lot of good ideas. Cabinets are now in and most have doors. Drawers are in but the front covers not installed yet. Something’s about neighbors kitchen kept bothering me, but could not pinpoint what. Then I watched this video last night and it hit me! The cabinet handles and drawers pulls! Mine are similar to yours. Long and stainless. But in neighbors house they installed them ALL horizontal and in the middle, bottom or top of each cabinet door and at the top of each drawer. Oh nooooo. I grabbed several screen shots as you moved around your kitchen to show my cabinet guy. Door handles HAVE to be vertical and placed just like yours. Drawers pulls, will be horizontal, of course, but have to be in the dead center of each drawer front. Explaining to Korean husband to then explain to Korean cabinet builder(I am not fluent in Korean) was gonna be a crap shoot. Now I have pictures of you cabinets and drawers to show them. So THANKS!!
I’m not sure anyone mentioned it or if you’re aware. It is best to store the Vanilla Extract in the dark, shake periodically/weekly. Loved the video! So happy to hear the kiddos wanted to make jam with Mama ❤. I would have jumped on that strawberry deal too!
Something that I wanted to mention was the banana bread I’ve made once they are done (oat meal blended to a flour is a good gluten free version) freezing the loafs and the next day or days later the bread is yummier after freezing it 👍🏼.

Thank you for the encouragement Jamerrill. We are all on a journey and have goals and purpose to fullfill. Vanilla making was eyeopening! Love blackberry jam.
I really learned a lot from this video. It’s nice to see you enjoying your new kitchen and trying new recipes at a comfortable pace. Looking forward to future adventures with you👍🏻

I split my vanilla beans in half and then I just refill every 6 months to a year with more spiced rum or bourbon. I also have two batches going at one time The Madagascar vanilla and the Tahitian vanilla 😊
As always your video is sich an inspiration! When I can fruit for jam I just cook it down to the consistency I like - no sugar or sweetener needed - and then I can. Amazing 😊
The Lord God Almighty has been so good to me through the hard and confusing and the overflowing blessings! Life sure is a mixed up thing but as long as I have him he guides me through. 💗💗💗
Jamerill, I just love you to pieces! I’d love to give you a great big hug!! Thank you for your videos. I’m a little further down the road than you in age (I’m 52). I’m starting my next phase of life with our last homeschool graduating this year. Thanks for being my pioneer woman and forging a path for me in home food preservation!
I have been making vanilla and I find you don't need to cut down the center but I do cut the beans in 1inch pieces and you don't need to open the pods. That way when you don't have to watch the beans to keep them under liquid. God bless
I want to say that I appreciate your methods and way you do everything so thoughtfully. I believe this thoughtfulness adds to the calm you impart to others.🥰💝
A tip for the eggs: place them in a bowl of water before cracking. If they sink to the bottom of the bowl and lays down they are fresh. If they sink to the bottom and stands up while still on the bottom they are not as fresh. If the eggs float, throw them out!!! They are bad. Remember FLOATERS ARE BAD. Love your videos!

Good afternoon😊. The calcium water and pectin....I personally don't use either one. I've been canning fruit preserves for over 50 years and I have yet to have issue with doing it this way. I've never water bathed them either or used that amount of sugar. Very interesting. PS- I will add a bit for cinnamon toy strawberry preserves. Yum!🍓🍓🍓🍓
My sister and I gave begin fermenting water Keifer for about 4 years. We use organic coconut palm sugar. It’s good but can be a tad zippy. My sister mastered it using that sugar.
Wish we had smell a vision I love banana bread and jam love everything homemade if I lived closer I'd be round ❤ keep smashing the cooking your awesome love from UK England 🇬🇧 ❤️
Lawd Sister! Watching your videos always make me feel like I'm such a lazy person. I feel I need to be there helping you. Where do you get all your energy? God bless you.
Hi, I would just like to add that the advice to persevere includes all areas of life. I'm 57 and just graduated from college 2 years ago. Don't let your life and your timeline deter you if things aren't going as planned. Keep your eye on the prize and the dream in your heart! You will get there!
Not sure if someone else has mentioned it, but before you crack the eggs you can drop them in some cold water and if they are rotten they will float due to the gas. So if they sink they are fine, if they float chuck them out!
I have never used a recipe to make jam, just boiled it down until thick and added sugar to taste and the lemon juice was also to taste. Don't know how many years my grandmother and mother did it that way but I have done it for over 50 years that way.
This is my first message,, enjoying watching when I get time,, early a.m. I'm a 64 year old farm girl,, love our own farm fresh milk, eggs, meats and vegetables,,,, and I love to can❤❤ love to cook. Just love playing in the kitchen.

My stove looks like yours on jelly making day. A job of love and family!
Amazing how much jam. I know all the kiddos will really enjoy this! You really got a deal on the strawberries!!! I so enjoyed your video
They went through 2 pints of jam already so I think the jam is going to be worked through just fine. 🤣
Loved this! You are so talented and calm. Amazing! ❤️🙏🏻Val C
I absolutely love your videos and especially the calmness you have when things go amidst. @@JamerrillStewart thank you so much for sharing this with me 💕🙏🙏
I split my vanilla beans in half and then I just refill every 6 months to a year with more spiced rum or bourbon. I also have two batches going at one time The Madagascar vanilla and the Tahitian vanilla 😊
As always your video is sich an inspiration!
When I can fruit for jam I just cook it down to the consistency I like - no sugar or sweetener needed - and then I can. Amazing 😊
Jamerrill, Thank you. You are an inspiration and so uplifting.
I love hearing about your life leading up to now....just amazes me.
The Lord God Almighty has been so good to me through the hard and confusing and the overflowing blessings! Life sure is a mixed up thing but as long as I have him he guides me through. 💗💗💗
Thanks for following all the canning rules. Just wanted to let you know I appreciate that.
Thank you for your transparency. Very helpful
What a great real life lesson for homeschooling.
9 kids, I can't even imagine, You look absolutely amazing. My great grandmother had 9 kids, my grandmother 8. and other grandmother 7.

I'm loving the chat! Waiting on baby number 5 right now and need to take my mind off of things 😊

Congratulations 🎊 25 years ❤ ❤🥰😎
Jamerill. I love your bowls! Such happy colors.
Great tip!
This is my first message,, enjoying watching when I get time,, early a.m.
I'm a 64 year old farm girl,, love our own farm fresh milk, eggs, meats and vegetables,,,, and I love to can❤❤ love to cook. Just love playing in the kitchen.

Blackberry jam with seeds is my favorite with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!
Ooh, homemade vanilla I am all for! It’s sooo crazy expensive so I definitely will try this as I am very much so a home baker always blowing through vanilla so I am here for this! ❤️👏🏻👏🏻
If you start your vanilla brew now, you will be ready for fall and Cristmas baking; and who knows how expensive it will be by then.
