Even as a single person I started this process in 2020. I was diagnosed and treated for stage 3 ovarian cancer. So my family would do my shopping (and I got stuff delivered) for me to keep me out of the stores. I have kept up the process of going through my stock pile using old stuff and restocking. I was able to buy a small chest freezer so I am doing that with meat and etc.
Good job taking responsibility for yourself and at the same time being kind and wise to accept assistance from those who care about you so they can feel helpful too 👍😁 Hope you are in recovery.
Sending healing prayers your way. Great for you on the food management... I'm single, too, and have been working on it, too. It really helps on migraine and pain days! Sending gentle hugs!
Hearing you say “I don’t tell them, they tell me how much they need in a day” is a such a refreshing statement to hear. Happy, healthy well fed children ❤
Exactly. Kids should be taught to eat when hungry and stop when full as should adults. If a kid is hungry they should eat no matter if it’s the “wrong” time.
I’m almost 60 years old and it’s just my husband and I. Since 2020, we do this as well; except, on a smaller scale. We don’t have a space like hers, but we make it work.
THANK YOU for having both fresh canned goods and STORE BROUGHT goods! For being honest about 'Best Buy' dates vs. Canning good storage timelines! Thank you for having stuff in your 'Store brought' pantry that many of us have in ours as well! Thank you for not thumbing your nose at people who can't afford a whole lot of ORGANIC store brought goods (didn't see ANY in your pantry!). Thank for reminding people they need to STORE THE THINGS THEY CANNOT GROW or RAISE themselves (shampoo, toilet paper, detergent, etc...) And I'm glad you can SEPARATE all those things in your pantry... GOD IS GOOD! May you continue to be BLESSED!
❤️❤️❤️ This is how ingrew up in the 60s with parents and grandparents who lived thru the Depression. My husband and I have continued since our marriage in early 80s... We've been laughed at and ridiculed thru the years, but when something happens, (illness, job loss world pandemics), we are prepared and it doesn't throw us off course. Thank you for continuing to share a way of life that has kept Americans stable for generations!
Those who Moch are idiots especially if they didn't pay attention to their history classes or their Elders who lived through the great depression or any of the pandemics of the past before the 2020 Covid-19 one I did. And during that time I had most of our groceries delivered during that time except for those stores that didn't deliver so we planned our trips away from the one. Even ran into my father on my way home during one of those trips and he was heading home too he lived in Oxnard and we are in Ventura here in California. So I was able to give him a brief update and I asked him to call me to let me know he made it home safe and so we could talk more since I needed to fill him in on some things plus I needed to ask him how to handle and do something I have never dealt with before. Such as repairs and even check out a possible replacement used appliance to replace what we had that was about to go and would not be able to get parts anymore.
You could post 3 times a day and it still wouldn't be enough!!! When my anxiety is bad I put ur videos on its ur voice ur calming nature it soothes my soul 💖 thank you for posting
Here's a little tip my Momma taught me--store your empty jars upside down. Keeps the dust out, and easy to grab from the box to put into the dishwasher. I love your pantry. So much work and what an excellent insurance policy!
Growing up on cold rainy nights, I remember my mom would make us a big platter of tuna salad and salmon salad sandwiches. We lost her Christmas Day 2021. The more I think of her the more memories come back to me.
I found your channel when I was pregnant with my twins and was looking for freezer meals. My boys just turned 8 and I’ve been a faithful viewer this whole time. I’m a now single mom of two and I can say that your videos and advice is helpful for families of all sizes. I love your content ❤
For me as well. I have fibromyalgia and the weather here lately has been making me so so sick 😢 I like doing this stocking up because there’s a lot of days I can’t get out of 🛌 bed. And I like to have food already prepared for days that I can’t get out of bed for my husband and I. We’re empty nesters to. So no help when I am sick.
You really are amazing; God has given you many “gifts”. Darn girl you have a lot of energy!!! I love how your love shines through with all that you do. May God pour out even more blessings to you and your family and loved ones! We know who brings our blessings! 🥰🙏🙏🥰 Thank you for sharing a bit of your life with us. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I don't know why but I wasn't real crazy about your videos when I first began watching. I have no idea why because NOW I love you and them both. I always get a smile on my face when I see you in your bathrobe and ready for bed. Probably because I love being in my bathrobe too. Keep up the great videos!
Syrup : 1 part white sugar, 1 part brown sugar, 1 part water. Heat on stove but not to boiling. Add splash if vanilla extract after you turn the heat off.
1 1/2 cups brown sugar, 3/4 cup white sugar, 1/2 c corn syrup, 1 cup water, boil 1 minute. Add 1 tsp maple extract, 1/4 t butter flavoring, 1/4 t vanilla
I always love your show! I wanted to have 24 kids but limited c sections got in my way. Darn it ! 4 c- sections made 5 kids and the good Lord sends me kids for a season all the time! Love your “show”! Thank you !!!
It’s so concerning in these crazy times to see mamas with large families and all they have to do to stay ahead. Who knows where we’ll be at by the end of 2023. I hope everyone starts preparing for what’s to come. The more people who are prepared the better we will all be
I have been trying, but it's difficult because I had to start almost entirely from scratch again... My family moved to a new place around a month and a half or so ago. Things like that really throw things out of wack sometimes!😅 I'm praying for other families to have the good fortune of well stocked Pantrys. ❤ There's nothing better than the quality security that comes from knowing that your family won't have to worry so much about food. ❤
I'm 75 and amazed at you! You got a new sub today. I was captivated at your grocery store and your rotating and large amounts! I'm in awe of you. I was never able to have chikdren, so your beautiful family and life really makes my heart smile! Hugs and prayers to you...
I've always followed the make 1 make 1 for the freezer as there's only the 2 of us. I've never been as grateful for a stocked pantry (not that mine is big). My husband took Covid at the beginning of the week, so I had to isolate with him, then I developed it by the Friday. Thank god for my freezer meals and extra food. I don't have a large freezer or a large pantry but its got me through till the end of next week at least. I have you to thank Jamerill for pointing me in this direction. xxx
Jamerrill you’ve taken “Spring” cleaning and organising to a whole new level. A couple of days ago it was fridge and freezer organisation and today the grocery store/pantry - WTG you. Love an organised space, it’s definitely my jam.
I don't comment a lot but have been a subscriber for many years. Love your content and love seeing your basement stock. Very much an inspiration to me as well as many.
@Jamerrill. Your ability to plan, organize and execute large projects is top 1%. Your energy is boundless. I grew up with a pantry my entire life and continued with it always. I was shocked at the number of people who only have beer and leftover takeout food in their frig. We don't have basements in Florida, so space is always an issue. Congratulations on your life journey with the Lord. May he continue to bless you and your family.
Don’t know if you’ve ever watched Little Mountain Ranch. Not sure if her large family is as large as yours but she cans what she grows with the intention of using what she has canned before the next growing season. When summer comes, her shelves are pretty empty and she starts the process again. Jessica at Three Rivers Homestead uses what she cans during the same year. They both say the reason for canning their own food is to know they are eating the best food available without additives, etc. Both channels worth watching. I love to watch people can even though I don’t do it myself anymore.
Thanks for sharing. I have read the book you are talking about years ago. I have a grocery store in my home for years now. We use fresh spring water! I rarely go to the store. We use the farmers market year round as well......... From the Ozarks
Love that grocery in the basement!!! 😃😃😃. Tip: get the extra long bungee cords at Harbor Freight and string them across the front of the home canned jars. Will help them not tumble off if the slightest earthquake tremor rolls thru. Love your videos! Hugs, Em ❤❤❤❤
Home making is an art. You make it look easy, Jamerrill! I love a good pantry. I have one too but on a smaller level but a person still needs all the skills.
As a Mennonite and my husband who is Amish and have four kids we go to the grocery store ever six months. My husband and son goes hunting and fishing and my uncle and aunt will give us two whole beef cows and two whole pigs and two whole lambs and we have half of our land that we use for gardening and we have 30 chickens for eggs and 10 ducks for eggs and 6 turkeys for eggs and we are thinking about getting some gooses for eggs. We made homemade almond milk and almond flour and almond butter and oat milk and oat flour the only time that I go to the grocery store to buy laundry detergent and dishes soap and bath stuffed and flour and sugar and baking soda and vinegar and baking powder and flour. I'm going to start to make our I Laundry detergent and dishes soap. We have three cats and two dogs and we make our pet food for our pets. We don't food our pets dry or wet food from the grocery store. Pets can eat the same food that we can eat.
My grandmother had a pantry for years and it was always well stocked up I would always ask her why she stocked up like she did and she said “because you never know when you might go hungry and be short of money” I love ❤️ your room very well stocked up!
I 3 sons as a disabled single mother and 75 qts of tomato juice, soup, spaghetti sauce. 50 whole tomatoes 25 pizza sauce 75 green beans, corn And all the deer meat we could get. I cooked cubed meat and let it cool pulled it packed it in the jar and canned it. Used it all kinds of ways but when I would be sick the sons made pulled deer bbq sandwiches. Or i would put it in the crock pot and let cook for bbq sandwiches when they got home from school that and mac and cheese and they have a meal.
Freeze dried egg powder are great to have on storage shelf. Reconstitute eggs - 2 tablespoons of egg powder and two tablespoons of water to make one medium egg. When using to bake with add dry egg powder to dry ingredients and add the amount water needed to equal egg powder to wet ingredients.
Jamerrill you always inspire me!! And I just know God is proud of you!! You look great too! I hope you have been well! Love & prayers to you & the fam! 💙🙏And happy spring!🪺🐦
I can relate to prepping for a large family. There are 10 of us that I prep for. Gardening, canning, stocking up on food when it's on sale, clearnce, and the kids help me with the canning etc. God bless you!
I use Dawn dish soap in all of our bathroom soap dispensers. It's cheap and I don't have to buy separate types of liquid soap. Love you oodles, Jamerrill! 🙏 ❤️
You’ve got this..Of course you do 🌻 Love it..Jamerrill, you never gave up, and you have come so far from when you stocked up you single fridge/freezer from some years back. I mean WOW…If someone really wants it, it’s definitely doable..we just can’t give up on ourselves! You did yourself proud and I’m smiling now just thinking about how far you have come ☺️ God is so good!!
Jammerill don’t worry about the 12-18 month time on home canned items. I have been canning for years and during he 2023 pantry challenge I have been doing I found beans that I have canned in 2014! Seal was solid, opened it and gave smell test all was well and used just fine. Tasted great. Just use your common sense. If that seal strong you are good to go!
I love to listen to you, but I feel bad that you feel so much like you have to explain your journey. It makes me think you get a lot of negative comments like “must be nice” and stuff like that. Just know that those of us who have been here and know you, are GLAD, and so thankful for you. You have worked so hard and God has blessed you and your family abundantly. No shame! Anyone who gives you grief just simply doesn’t understand. Don’t let it bother you! I know your kind heart doesn’t want to brag. I don’t see it as bragging, I see it as wildly inspiring 😊
I have been watching your videos and as despite being someone without children and not in the US, I love your videos (im jealous of your food prices as they are still cheaper than home). My mum was one of 12 and my grandma always made her own jams, chutneys and baking etc. You remind me of her (a more modern version). I hope you and your family are happy and healthy xx
I always put new lids on the empty clean jars, just a quick wash and they are ready to go. I also put the rings on, as it protects the jars from getting chips on them !
FYI a TIP for you. When I stick my canned items, I have a sharpy with me and write the expiration year on it. Easy to see quickly. So if expires July 2025. I simply put 25 on it. Been doing this about a year after reorganizing and finding some old old cans that got slipped in wrong areas. Has made a world of difference, and your kiddos could do it too.
Jamerill, I love your sweet spirit. Thank you for always putting a smile on my face! Really enjoyed this video! May the Lord continue to bless you and your beautiful family!
One of my favorite movies is "Blast From The Past". They had the store in the basement along with a huge fish tank. 'The mother' (Sissy Spacek) would shop the isles. Way to go on the organization. You can really see what you have with those open shelves.
I so enjoyed this video!!! I love to go with you as you talk and figure out what you need!! It encouraged me to go to my "grocery store" and get my working pantry back up to speed!!! I am by no means where you are but hopes and dreams!!! A little at a time!!!
Me too ,somthing I allways wanted do ,couldnt afford when my kids were young but can now ,only 2 of us now but I have a daughter and 3 grands ,love to shop at mommas
Thank you for sharing! We are only a family of 3 but our stockpile looks very similar. It has been a relief to have during multiple rough times over the years as well as a blessing to be able to help family, friends or our local food pantry in need. ❤
You are an a amazing woman I live in a small apartment in northern ireland iv turned my two small cupboards into food storage for me and my sun you are my inspiration xxxx
I wanted to let you know that you can get “thermometer alarms” where you can set a temperature so if you’re freezers ever go below that temperature an alarm will sound. With as many freezers and fridges that you have, it might be worth looking into so you don’t lose any food if a freezer bust.
I have a bedroom with the metal shelving units set up. My kids/grandkids call it Nana’s store😊. The thing I’m not stock enough on, would need an extra place for are the personal items/medicines/cleaning products. We have the few extra in the baths of personal items but my store was build with grown girls/2 grandkids in mind, as well that don’t live here. None, NONE, of my family, have put up, stocked anything past a week😒. So I feel the pressure to do more, just in case.
Early 2020 before things happens or were just starting a talked to a colleague who was a student about food we keep in the house. I estimated about two months as we had just been to Metro (similar to Costco in the us) she estimated two days… I was shocked! Even as a student I always had a nstocked freezer (mostly leftovers) and things like pasta and pesto at home, that’s the way I was brought up. 🤷🏻♀️ 2020 happened and we did not have to go to the store for 4 weeks. I was proud of myself and Ebene expanded my stock pile.
My dream would be to have a pantry. I live in England and we don’t have the land so our homes are smaller. Some old houses have pantry’s but newer homes don’t, I just have my kitchen cupboards and that’s it. We’re only a small family, myself, my two boys and sometimes my eldest son’s girlfriend but we do like cooking and baking so it would be amazing to have a fully stocked pantry 😍
Until recently I had plenty of food and other consumables saved up & now I have to start over completely on my food supply & most of my consumables. So I’m going to challenge myself to do this within the next 9 months so I can ready for a years worth of returning to college. I’m loving these videos recently about the hard times! Really great to remember that we can make it through them & we aren’t alone 🥹♥️
Love your little grocery store. I work from home and am a stay at home mom, I have my husband pick up curbside orders for us on the way home from his job in town. He's picking up a stock up order for us this evening (much like you we were out or running low on things I like to keep on hand). The luxury of delivery, never take it for granted! We live 50 minutes from any Walmart. The only delivery we get is USPS, UPS and FedEx haha
Thank u for showing us ur downstairs "store" 😁 I love watching ur videos, I love to see what ur up to lol 😆 🩷 ur home is beautiful!! Just gorgeous!! All ur hard work has 100% paid off thank u for all u do for ur channel I super enjoy ur channel! ❤️❤️🩷🩷
I think its a great idea to have both home canned and store bought foods on your shelf because of the shelf date. Your heart must nearly explode with happiness and accomplishment when you pull those jars out of your canner or walk into that basement room. ❤❤❤ I know mine does and I've (touch wood) never experienced hard times. I just made up some apple sauce myself and had 2lt left over so I once again jumped on Large Family Table and found a cake recipe. Thanks so much!! Now I have 2 loafs of applesauce cakes in the freezer and 1 on the bench along with a few breaky meals. 😊
You inspired me to do a grocery store in my apartment I have a huge walk in closet and that’s where my stuff is I get everything at Sam’s club or amazon becuase everything comes in bulk and that’s what I love never run out of anything
Your pantry is a thing of beauty! Especially all the goodness you’ve put into those jars. We’re a house divided on home canned applesauce as well. To me, it’s the best I’ve ever tasted!😊
Hello mega friend, great inspiring video. I have a sm. pantry in my basement and one in my kitchen.I love knowing that we always have food. I also have two freezers. You are amazing with all you do for your mega family. God bless you sweet friend you are awesome.😊
Doesn't hurt to keep your store bought grocery store just in case there's a bad season of crops for canning, say apples or potatoes or anything. That way you will have store bought things from the previous year as a back up until a good crop comes in.
Hey Jamerrill, I love your basement pantry. I'm in process of turning an empty bedroom into a pantry since I don't have any extra space to do this in. I'm still learning just like many others. One tip I learned by watching other videos is to put all heavier items on the bottom shelves all light items on the top 1-2/3 shelves. Medium weight items in the middle to even out the weight on the shelves as a whole. TP and other paper products can go into bigger boxes on the top shelf. Turn the box on it's side with the top opening facing towards the front for easy access, this way if something were to fall, it'll be light weight items. I do the same with canned meat in separate categories like they do in grocery stores. Making more room to get more items shelved so they don't tumble if I touch one or more...like Spam/Treet, sardines, tuna etc stay in the cardboard box like they keep in the stores. This way I can stack them on top of each other with the original store box. I just take the entire case (cardboard too). Just thought I'd pass this along to those who'd like to read it in case it can help them organize easier. Extra spices can go into buckets and labeled then stacked into a corner, also date canned/bottled food item/drink/condiments for the date you bought/canned them so you'll know which ones to use first or last. I really enjoyed your video! You go little lady...you've got this!
Just FYI. Home canned goods don't have to be used in 18 months. That is the recommendation from ball because they can't guarantee their lids longer than that but the food is edible long after that if it's still sealed.
I haven't used tattlers either, but if you are going to can water, using the tattlers sometimes could be a good way to practice. Likewise canning dried beans- a lower cost food item to practice with. Linda at Linda's pantry marks her rubber gaskets everytime she uses them to keep track of how many runs they've gone through
Really pleased and happy for your grocery store. I have been doing one for the past 4 years and yours is looking great. Brilliant to be prepared 😁🙏 God bless.

You have to be the most laid back person I’ve ever seen. You have such a calm voice. With that many kids I’d be a frazzled mess.

The nice thing about our basement store, it makes you take the stairs more often!
I love this. I feel like you should have a store basket when you shop your stash. 😀

Was thinking the same. And it doesnt take much and has happened in her location. Minor and small
Home making is an art.
You make it look easy, Jamerrill!
I love a good pantry.
I have one too but on a smaller level but a person still needs all the skills.
That's so sweet and generous of you to help others.
She is fantastic isnt she ,so very thoughtful and sweet
I'm going to start to make our I
Laundry detergent and dishes soap.
50 whole tomatoes 25 pizza sauce
75 green beans, corn
And all the deer meat we could get.
You are such an inspiration. Makes my day when I see you have uploaded another video. Many blessings to you and your family.
You are an inspiration to every mother out there. I enjoy your video's, recipes and love your farm. God bless you and your family, be safe.
Your store at home is amazing! You have canned so much stuff , you rock mama!
Jamerrill you always inspire me!! And I just know God is proud of you!! You look great too! I hope you have been well! Love & prayers to you & the fam! 💙🙏And happy spring!🪺🐦
I think it is so awesome to have a grocery store at home. Thanks for showing us all the things. Love watching 👀 😍
You are doing awesome. Woohoo. Never feel bad for having bought food on the shelves. We all do the best we can do. You are rocking this. 🇨🇦❄️
I can relate to prepping for a large family. There are 10 of us that I prep for. Gardening, canning, stocking up on food when it's on sale, clearnce, and the kids help me with the canning etc. God bless you!
You are amazing woman! May GOD richly Bless You, and provide all you may need!😊❤️👏🏼
I use Dawn dish soap in all of our bathroom soap dispensers. It's cheap and I don't have to buy separate types of liquid soap. Love you oodles, Jamerrill! 🙏 ❤️
I love your videos so much!! So inspiring!! Thank you for sharing all the goodness and fun mama stuff!
You’ve got this..Of course you do 🌻
Love it..Jamerrill, you never gave up, and you have come so far from when you stocked up you single fridge/freezer from some years back. I mean WOW…If someone really wants it, it’s definitely doable..we just can’t give up on ourselves! You did yourself proud and I’m smiling now just thinking about how far you have come ☺️ God is so good!!
Thank you!! 😊
You are such an inspiration woman 😇😇😇😇😇 I look forward to all your videos 🌷🌷🦋🦋🦋🌷🌷🦋🦋🦋🌷🌷
That's a great idea!
This is a great idea!!
Awesome idea!
👏👏👏Sooo fantastic. We are a family of 4 and I'm hoping to have a 6 month, at least, store for us.
One of my favorite movies is "Blast From The Past". They had the store in the basement along with a huge fish tank. 'The mother' (Sissy Spacek) would shop the isles. Way to go on the organization. You can really see what you have with those open shelves.
I'm giddy over here watching this!!!
I so enjoyed this video!!! I love to go with you as you talk and figure out what you need!! It encouraged me to go to my "grocery store" and get my working pantry back up to speed!!! I am by no means where you are but hopes and dreams!!! A little at a time!!!
Awesome shelves. One of my favorite things to can is TUNA. It is really easy. I get it fresh off the boat on the coast of Oregon
Your videos are such an inspiration to me! I grew up in the LDS church and have always wanted to do food storage. You have inspired me to start!
You’ve got it all together!! I’m glad you have the room to store it all!
Absolutely awesome. I don't have that many people to feed but I'm trying to create something similar scaled down to my family size.
Me too ,somthing I allways wanted do ,couldnt afford when my kids were young but can now ,only 2 of us now but I have a daughter and 3 grands ,love to shop at mommas
The only thing I think would be a good idea is a clipboard to write down things to get. I love having a good supply on hand. Great job!!!
great idea
I just love all of the home canned goodies growing and looking so beautiful 😍
Jamerrill you are doing an incredible job at making sure you have food for your family taking into account every eventuality.
We are a family of 8 and I just love your videos. I learn so much and they help me lay out my goals for food storage!
Amazing..that tower. Wow...
I'm loving this video ! Love how you keep everything stocked up and organized for your beautiful family.😍
Thank you for sharing. 😊❤🙏
Ms. Ruby
There is the Canned Goods on the shelf video that I had been hoping to see! YAY! I think that the entire Master Plan is brilliant! Thank you!
Your home canned food looks so beautiful on the shelves, especially when we know how many hours of hard work you put in to create them xx
Writing the best by date in sharpie on the front of your cans as you bring them in will help
What an incredible beautiful pantry!!
I adore your store, you are a great inspiration, and prepared for the next wave of drought; if a state of emergency return.
You are so blessed to have such a beautiful and bountiful pantry. Love your videos and look forward to seeing your next one 😊
Doesn't hurt to keep your store bought grocery store just in case there's a bad season of crops for canning, say apples or potatoes or anything. That way you will have store bought things from the previous year as a back up until a good crop comes in.
It all is wonderful!! 🎉🎉
Bravo 👏
I haven't used tattlers either, but if you are going to can water, using the tattlers sometimes could be a good way to practice. Likewise canning dried beans- a lower cost food item to practice with.
Linda at Linda's pantry marks her rubber gaskets everytime she uses them to keep track of how many runs they've gone through
Really pleased and happy for your grocery store. I have been doing one for the past 4 years and yours is looking great. Brilliant to be prepared 😁🙏 God bless.
