Every single one of his takes boils down to some rewording of "society is decaying, and you should be blackpilled and depressed (but also remember to pay me every month so I can be a millionaire.)"
This movie was my first hype cycle and my first major disappointment as a result. They spent the year before this movie released hyping up General Grievous in the Tartarovsky Clone Wars shorts, in video games like Republic Commando, as the second coming of Darth Vader - just an imposing monster who could dispatch Jedi with ease. A fantastic villain for a darker entry in the franchise. What was delivered was a mustache twirling dipshit, and then they spent the next 20 years defaming his character with shitty retcons that dilute the premise and intent of the character. Lucas and Filoni both have a lot to answer for to childhood me. Justice for Sheelal.
