Thanks for posting this, Richard! Can't recall having heard this particular interview before. Amazing, isn't it, how their music never gets old. Other "favorites" come and go, and we can tire of listening to their music. But when The Seekers came 50 years ago, I for one have never tired of hearing them or the songs they record! Apparently their fans still do not want them to go and continue begging for more, even as they have wrapped up tours of Australia and the U.K.
Let's get a million views for this special lady and her friends
Judith has a smile that can warm any heart.
THE SEEKERS💖👸🕺👬🌟🤩
Great!🎼🎵🎹🎸🎻🎤📀👍👏
From Hong Kong🙋♀️🌏💝🌺🥰
They weren't a bunch of kids learning as they went along. When they formed the Seekers they were solid, experienced musicians, and it showed when they did live performances. You sometimes have to listen hard to hear if it's really live, or the record. Judith sang "All over the world" in the sixties, and performed it onstage forty years later. One video plays the live recording, another superimposes the sixties audio instead, and you have to listen carefully to know which is which. Even Dusty couldn't have maintained that consistency.
When I first heard this in 65 or 66 I was a teenager and it really knocked my socks off. Judith Durham and Petula Clark were two of my favorite female vocalists, classy ladies with wonderful voices.
O
Very modest as all artists are with TALENT! Nice to hear Brian Matthew. Sound of the sixties. He interviewed all the stars of the time. We miss him. Love+BW.
Love the seekers
Awesome voices
In an awesome blend!

The Seekers are the best. First heard them in Sydney Australia, was hooked then and still am.
The Seekers, at their best, with just their own accoustic instruments. I have loved their music, since I first heard them in the mid 60s, in the USA, without knowing their names or what they looked like until 8 years ago. Judith can sing like nobody else and the fellows' playing and harmony is right there with her.
I'm right there with you. I've heard their music all my life without knowing anything about them until recently. But I'm catching up now.
Made another comment on another Seekers song but I have to once again say hearing this music again after so many years I didn't realize how much I love this group and what a treasure Judith Durham is in Australia somebody remarked about there making it in America I'll always remember the song Another You and I always love their music someone else mentioned Petula Clark if you want to add Dusty Springfield to that mix then you could say the 3 major pop female singers at that moment in time 64 65 Dusty Springfield Petula Clark and Judith they all had great voices I think Judith was the best by far I wish her well seeing her now after so many years it's too bad that more singers like her couldn't have made it bigger compare her to the trash that we see out there today I'm glad I grew up in that era God bless all of you
Happy New Year 2020
God bless Australia !
God bless America forever!
God Save the Queen !
God bless U.K. forever.
Great early career photo of the Seekers. Loved their music in 1965, love it even more in 2016 !! God bless them all, and good health to all. Thank you for all the great music over the past 53 years! Tim in Midland, Texas
Thanks for this interview and recording. Obviously there are lots of us out there who love The Seekers. I'd venture that people who love The Seekers share many attributes. What memories, what a special sound.
Even fuzzy, this is a terrific photograph!
Wow. As clean as the commercial recording, but with subtle performance differences (so you know it's live).
Memories 😢
Great watching the progress of this group on RUclips
Aw so young!
And so were we!
Damn they’re good, especially “A World of Our Own”!
Congrats on your 50 ANNIVERSARY as I had all your records when I was 10 yrs old as I was a very sick little girl at the time as all these records that my grand parents had given me at the time has been stolen many years ago thanks guys for all of your songs ...
Both of these songs were composed by Dionysus O'Brien( hope I spelled his first name right). He is better known as Tom
Springfield and was a member of the Folk Trio - The Springfields with guitarist Tim Field and his sister Mary O'Brien ( Dusty Springfield).
Still listening to The Seekers in 2020.
It is interesting to hear these recordings on BBC radio, especially having the context of the Beatles "Live at BBC" CD. Their live playing ability stands up very well against their more famous contemporaries.
The New Musical Express 1965 concert (currently available on RUclips) helps to support that contention beautifully.
@@johnking6550 thank you for this tidbit. Will find and listen!
@@johnking6550 I remember that awful concert, and will catch up with it now, thanks.
First time for me to hear this interview and live recording .I love new discoveries like this ,thanks for the upload .
Very special lady, R.I.P. sing with the angels in heaven!
I feel like I'm in the "Swinging Sixties"!
Fabulous - thanks for sharing! :D

samsungw200 Me too. Wish I was.
I used to listen to Brian Matthews regularly. I don't know if he's still alive.
Unfortunately, we lost Brian 4 years ago...
@@rich963 May he rest in peace.
Was the recordings that were done on the BBC ever commercially released? I always enjoy your videos.
Thanks Cassie, no, just on transcription discs which sometimes come up on ebay.
Blimey! That was a wee bit of a sticky wicket, but they seemed to pull through unscathed.
🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧😀😀😀😀

Sometimes I can hardly hear Judith.
