What a great interview.. it’s cool to see skaters being vulnerable and telling their story. We are all built different and life has unexplained and unexpected twists. I have a brother who struggles mental illness so I feel your journey. Keep on keeping on! You have my support 🙌🏻

Skaters growing up seem to be the most down to earth in touch with the world people. Every one of these segments is surreal and its so cool seeing ppl just living their lives and making it work no matter the road blocks.
So easy to forget how hard life is for everybody - sometimes we think a pro skater has it all and it all must be this dream. It's helpful for all of us to be reminded of the inherent challenges in life - the ups and downs. Thanks, Jon - for being open to sharing. Grew up skating with John and his brother and Robbie with the active crew! We looked up to those guys at Finkbiner in Glendora haha fuckin rad dudes always giving us free boards and stuff. Appreciate you guys big time

SO many skaters I know experience quasi- BPD type of illness. Something in the creative surge, the animosity of skating, the love for it. Like Musicians and artists. Mix that with the ominous drinking culture in skating... no good. Much Love John, you always did remind of a boxer!
