- In this video I unbox two Amazon Echo Dot's for use as a whole home intercom and multi-room music listening. This video shows the unboxing of an Echo Dot, initial setup, connection to wifi and use of the intercom system and multi-room music listening commands.
My wife and I both listen to music in our bathrooms when we are getting ourselves ready or bathing our kids. The echo dot is a perfect way to talk to one another without shouting across the house, and to listen to music. The kids know all the commands, so it makes perfect sense to use the multi-room music everywhere command.

Dumb question but I got the echo and want another. My question is, where im paying say $4 a month for the music can this new one I get link to the same account and not have to pay a 2nd monthly fee?

I have a question, which I have been trying to search for an answer on the web and coming up empty. Is it possible to connect(sync)an Amazon Echo Dot(2nd Gen.)to an Amazon Echo(2nd Gen.)with 2 different accounts(registrations), but in the same household?

So what can you do with a echo plus and echo dot set up? I have an echo plus in my room. And been thinking about getting one for my daughters bedroom. And maybe even one in the kitchen/living room area. Will they be in sync with each other? Like what if I wanted to connect to my phone via bluetooth and play music in my room will the other devices play it too? Or do they individually connect to different phones . And if I say Alexa turn off the lamp in my room , to the dot in the kitchen will that work
This is exactly what you can do. We have multiple dots around the house. We can play music "everywhere" or just on one device. You can connect via Bluetooth, but if you are using something like Spotify, it will allow you to play on one device or all. You can also have different music playing on each device at the same time. If you have smart devices, like light lamps, you can tell Alexa to turn it off from anywhere, or even through the phone app. It's pretty cool. Hope this helps!

How to pair second alexa
Does anyone know how to play music from your phone not Amazon through both speakers at same time ,ie two dots. It will only play through one at a time .it plays 2 if I use Amazon music but not through my you tube
You need an app that works with the Amazon Alexa app, like Spotify or Amazon. I don't think RUclips works.
Which echo dot generation is this because it didn't work with my generation 3 echo dot

you did not tell us how to name an alexa you just said you did and called it Roses room
You name it in the app on your phone. You can change it there too!
I have a question if anyone can help. I want to know if I can use the echo to contact another echo in the house? For instance, if I'm in the basement can I use an echo down there to contact my daughter in her room on her echo?
Yes - you can do that through the app and I think through the echo itself. It's called 'dropping in'. You can drop in even if you aren't in your home. Also, you can drop into friends if they give you the access.
If u actually listen he tells u. Just say drop in to other dot.
Yes, you can say make an announcement ...and she ask which device to make an announcement too

you just turn on "drop in" for each device you want to use. He showed exactly where it was at about 4:00 minutes in. Then if you want music all over you add the devices to a group called "everywhere".
This should be call: how to set up an alexa, the same in any manual, waste of time

I can’t believe that someone has left an instructional video up that features two piss weak wastes of money... Compared to the beautiful 3rd Generation Dots these old versions look as if throwing them in the trash would be an insult to the trash can!
