Kia ora John, the language is te reo Māori, the language of Māori who are the indigenous people of Aotearoa/New Zealand.
Maori, sounds very Welsh mind you... not that I know Welsh, I just cry and Welsh Choirs singing. And, I've seen Marlon a fair few times (except last week was cancelled) :-( 😞 first time, opening for First Aid Kit at the Metro in Sydney in 2015.... fan ever since. Such a voice!
