Amazing interview with such an intriguing artist. Love the question “do you need to have traumatic experiences to drive your song writing”. His response “I don’t think so, I think you need to be empathetic, you need to be able to understand what causes people pain and joy. To be a great songwriter you don’t necessarily need lived experience but you need to be open and to feel.
Thanks so much for that interview. It's very pleasant to listen to him talk just as much as listen to his music. Ever so charming and smiling. Convinced he could make a considerable acting career - needs just finding the right characters to play, maybe something a bit weird... Looking forward to see what future holds for him. 🤩
Watching this, because I love Marlon, and a RUclips ad comes on, using Dragon’s ‘I’m Still In Love With You’ as its music, and I’m thinking, yep, ‘Anything could Happen’…
@@doriangray7405 I’m going to say this once for you, I hope it helps you going forward. Sexuality is fluid. You can be straight and then be gay, and vice versa. You can be straight and femme. You can be gay and butch. You can be all of these things, and then be something different later. You seem desperate to create hard and immutable definitions of sexuality that cannot be changed. What if he’s in the closet and didn’t feel like coming out in that interview? What if he’s not sure? What if he had a gay fling but decided he was “more straight” afterwards? There are literally thousands of variable possibilities, and you are in a RUclips comments section saying he has to be ONE THING ONLY and it’s a defining characteristic that must be adhered to by your standards. If you are still quite young, I understand why you may feel this way - especially if you are gay. You may feel like he’s stealing something from you. He isn’t. You need to relax your opinions and remember that the world isn’t defined by your sensibilities. Good luck.
What a humble guy. Great interview thank you. Came here while watching The Beautiful Lie on Netflix and found myself rewinding his singing and googling during the 1st episode lol! Totally mesmerised by his voice! And chuffed he's maori yeahh 😀
When I watched him live the first time he totally reminded me of Elvis. Makes sense he was influenced by him. He sounds so amazing live and has such great stage presence and charisma.
@Dorian Gray Oh, so what?? People can change at any time. I thought I was straight for 15 years until I met a man who I was attracted to. You need to have a good hard look at your judgemental self, Dorian.
I can genuinely say that he is a really authentic humble nice guy
Marlon Willams - sublime voice, incredible musicianship, emotional intelligence AND dance moves to boot 🕺
Nothing can touch this boy.
Great interview. I first saw Marlon Williams on Sweet Tooth here in the States. His singing is magnetic.
I wasn’t expecting the host to start harmonizing with him but that was a really pleasant surprise
That's Moana Maniapoto-Jackson. She's a pretty famous AoNZ singer in her own right. Long before Marlon was in short shorts 😂
Great interview Moana. What a beautiful man with a beautiful voice. I heard traces of Elvis, which I'm sure would please Marlon.

Really good interview, such natural questioning and a humble man. Thank you!

So unbelievably talented! He’s headed for the big time, I hope he’s got some good close friends by his side ❤️
@@doriangray7405 nonsense, his sexuality is his own business and not to be defined by others.

Wow thanks so very much , what a great interview . Such a beautiful open interaction between both and the shared song at the end icing on the cake .
So nice to see Marlon get some real traction and acknowledgment in the industry.
Brilliant interview, he's such a joy to us.
Two weeks ago I happened to see him on Blogotheque channel. And now I fall in love with his everything.

@Dorian Gray Well you do you, you patronising dingbat. Just let me enjoy Marlon, because all I'm "demanding" is something to make me feel calm.
Very good interview and I always love Marlon......very talented guy!
This is amazing - what’s a great show! Made me miss home hard.
He's very nice looking!

11:09 - as soon as I heard this, the interview was over...
Yep.
A voice like liquid honey.
