EQ How-To 003 - Kia EV6 & Ioniq 5 Door Lock Settings
HTML-код

- The door locks have a few settings that can be adjusted in the touchscreen of the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5. Hidden in a submenu are the ability to change the auto lock from speed to shift into gear, the auto unlock from shift-to-park to power off, or disable the feature entirely, and you can activate 2-press unlock which can be useful but also annoying if you want to get into the back seat of the car after starting it. Find out where the settings are by watching this video.
Thanks to viewer Gary Buck for asking this question.
Let me know if you want me to show you how to configure something specific and I will see what I can do.

cool quickie, not just for the KIAs but also for other brands. Thanks André for the info
Thank you, I am glad you liked it 😎
Thank you
You are very welcome. Thanks for watching.
André - thanks - good info -
Quick follow up question - is there a way to have the door handle pop out automatically? Lazy, yes - but just a cool feature if it exists. Thanks!
It depends on if your car is the high trim level. Mine auto-present. You can see the option called "Approach Unlock", in this video at the 30 second mark. Here: ruclips.net/video/LLhO2LaShe4/видео.html
A few questions:::
A) during the power outage, in the last week, did you use your EV6 as a generator?
B) would you please make a video on voice recognition and your experience with it.
Hi Claude. We did not lose power so I did not have to use the V2L feature, but you can see my detailed explanation and review of the feature in this video: ruclips.net/video/kRkTO3d470M/видео.html
A video about voice recognition is interesting, but I don't think you would like my review because it is terrible. My Niro EV had excellent voice recognition and it worked very well. My EV6 seemed OK at first, then got an update and the voice recognition became useless. I have not used it since, have little experience with it for now, and mainly use Android Auto. I will add this to my list of videos to make, but can't promise when it will be made. Thank you for the idea.
@@EV-olution sorry, but another question. When not using the app, how can i stop the chaging. I looked in the infotainment system, i saw nothing
I am not sure I understand the question. Do you mean level 2 charging at home, or DCFC at a public station? What app are you referring to?
@@claude5125 We have the same issue. We end up just unplugging the charging cable at the wall to get the plug to unlock. It's extremely annoying to not have a button to stop charging either in the car or on the cable itself.
With level 2 charging there is no need to stop the session, just unplug and your are done. You can stop the charge with the app, but there is no need. You only need to stop a DC Fast Charger before disconnecting.
Mine doesn’t have Auto Unlock for approach.
It depends on the trim level of your car. What country are you in and what version of car do you have?
@@EV-olution USA. I know it’s not the GT model. It’s a log term rental. It’s driving me crazy that it doesn’t have that feature. I checked the menu like your video and there is no approach unlock option. It also does not lock when walking away.
Your comment makes me think that if you don't have the powered, self-presenting door handles, then you don't get the auto-unlock.
Trying to find the tire lock
I am not sure what you mean, by tire lock. If you mean lock nuts for the wheels, there are no wheel locks installed by Kia. If you have some then it is a dealer installed accessory and usually they store the key for the nuts in the trunk, in the storage area under the trunk removeable floor, or in the glove box. You can contact your dealer to find out where they put it.
