thank you! and no , the inside doesn’t matter too much because it’s going to be where the charcoal and such is at and it’ll get pretty dirty.
What are the red pipes on the side for?
they’re inlet air for the charcoal basket at the bottom. you don’t have to have pipes and can just put a ball valve at the bottom but then you’d have to bend over every time you wanted to adjust the ball valve, so that’s why i added pipes.
What is the diameter of the pipes. Good luck
i believe 1 1/2”

there’s the link to the lid . Galvanized isn’t good safe but the lid shouldn’t be touching the food at all and you’re not serving food on it so it should work
in process of building my own. found same lid at atwoods 6bucks
