My wife is a postmaster and the biggest problem is the postmaster general is condensing the sorting sites and it's messing everything up. I hate this fir the last few months. I track my packages almost at destination and next time I check it is across the country. Takes over a week almost 2 for customer to receive it

I was at the post office today trying to locate 5 packages that were way overdue for delivery. This was after numerous phone calls and opening an investigation. Keep your receipts with your tracking numbers. That is what saved me today. Interestingly, all of them were magically out for delivery today after 17 days.
My husband is a carrier. ITS AWFUL. Since they started delivering for AMAZON, my husband isn't home until 1030pm. And zero overtime is paid to Rural carriers. City has a different union, so they get overtime. My husbands route is evaluated to end at 4pm. IMPOSSIBLE. The USPS does NOT have the infrastructure to handle the packages. Not enuf subs. My husbands route last year had max packages at 90 to 100 a day..Monday he had 293. They can't even get the packages in their vehicles, they have to make second and third trips. The USPS is driving the carriers to quit. We've lost one, and he lost all retirement. It used to be a great job. NO MORE. Rural carriers provide the vehicle, he's changing his oil at 11pm. Eights months to retirement, if they don't kill him first.

I don’t ship a lot because we have a very small store. When I request a pick up I leave a snack pack with my packages. It includes crackers, cookies and a juice pack.

I had a lady buy something from me on a Wednesday night and I mailed it Thursday morning. She text me Friday No not to ask me if I had sent it but that she had not received it. I had to explain to her that it takes longer than one day for shipping especially when you are several states away. I was very nice to her but not going to lie. I thought REALLY!

Im planning to start reselling after the first of the year. I'm a little stressed about inventory control and the best way to keep up with each item. After hearing you talk about selling on several platforms I'm even more stressed about it. Lol

I keep a spreadsheet on ALL MERCHANDISE. When I get home from shopping I itemize them all. When I list I check and date them and check off the platforms I listed them on. I do this as a hobby and I won't pay for a third party list app like Vendo. It wouldn't be worth it for me at this point.

I could probably even make a column for which carrier I used to ship each item along with a space for the tracking number.
I've seen a noticeable rise in delayed USPS shipments since Ground Advantage started, and every issue was with something shipped in a mailing tube. One week I shipped 3 or 4 posters, and every single one sat for days after the initial scan. Haven't shipped a poster via USPS since. Sorry to hear of the loss on your Scrooge poster, but I'm glad I'm not crazy in thinking that the post office has issues with processing mailing tubes.

One of my friends lives on 70th Avenue in Queens. Anyone familiar with Queens knows that the next street over is 70th Road. As you might expect, some of packages get delivered to the corresponding address over on 70th Road. He and the other fellow regularly have to swap packages and mail.

Scan forms are useless. I did them in the past and it doesn’t count as package acceptance. Package acceptance only happens when the actual label on the package is scanned by a USPS employee. It is not worth the extra effort. At various times they ask me to do them and I have to explain to them why it is useless.
I have one of those sun lamps (NIB) in my death pile! Guess I need to get it listed -along with my crocheted throws!

Had a sale, didnt think anything of it until pkg was returned to me. Tag said customer refused it. Customer said they never saw it. Resent it out 2-3 weeks ago and it came back again yesterday. Sticker said it eas not picked up and RTS.

USPS has only lost one of mine and it was a coach purse over $100. PoshMark refunded the buyer and paid me anyway. I’m pretty certain she got it. For free that is. 😮
How hard is it to file a USPS insurance claim for a product that was damaged during shipping thru the USPS as a seller? Are there a lot of hoops you have to jump thru? And by the way....great videos you have, taught me a lot of things.
Not complaining you asked us to share. Something has definitely been going on with Usps last month or so. We sold about 100 items in that time for reference. They are not scanning all the items in and just sending them to the next facility. Had 1 no scans ever vanished. Had 5 scanned in where dropped off then no more scans until delivered 7 to 12 days later. People were asking why tracking is not moving. Unfortunately i do not control usps. Originally was thinking they were overwhelmed for around black friday or being lazy and just passing the whole big tot along onto the next facility. Kind of like time to go its the next places problem now. It is what it is.

We live on the 40 in new mexico and the and this rt is the most efficient we've seen.
We lived in Annapolis MD, Traverse City MI, Phenix AZ and now New Mexico.

I am dealing with a USPS ground advantage package shipped to a buyer in my same state of CA going to Utah and now is just heading back into California.
I will always support USPS. We must take into consideration the massive changes that are constantly happening…it seems these changes happen so often that consumers barely adjust, I cannot imagine how this affects mail carriers.
We had a regular mail carrier for years, this last year we had someone delivering packages & a different mail carrier every week. We do not dare schedule a pickup because 50% of the time no one shows. Last year it was never missed.
I rarely ship UPS or FedEx because the items we sell rarely warrant this.
I’m not sure about anyone else but the thing that most concerns me is mail that is delivered to the wrong address. We recently received certified mail at our home with our house number but a different street. We physically took it to the post office & gave it back to them…and it was delivered to our house again. I have questions.
All the shipping services seem to have really fone downhill over the years. Its so frustrating to pay way more for far worse service.
Is the postmaster general trying to waste everyone's money? We taxpayers pay for the mismanagement. Fire that guy and then put him on trial because it's billions in waste
USPS is not funded by the us government, we are a service not a business , no one says the military loses money every year . Read up on the postal reform act .

I had a $150 item disappear after it showed being picked up from my house. On day 20ish eBay refunded the buyer though I asked for them to wait. Of course, the item was delivered a day or two later. The buyer admitted it arrived, but said they shouldn't have to pay since it was so late (it was an antique tobacco pipe, nothing time sensitive). When I contacted eBay they said they could do nothing since the buyers money was refunded and they couldn't make them pay. The post office wouldn't cover the loss since they did deliver it eventually. So I was out the item and shipping. I know it is all part of the game, but dang that stung.
Yeah that sounds terrible. The buyer should be more honest than that.
Shipped a package from Ohio to Alaska. Sat in Seattle for 3 days and the next update was in Georgia. WTF! Shipped back to Seattle and no more updates for 7 freaking days! Buyer demanded a refund through EBay and I complied. Package was delivered 2 days later so I am out the item and shipping! Received neutral feedback where buyer said it wasn’t my fault. C’mon…free $60 item and I don’t even get positive feedback.

Had two. Shipped two items, 1 on Nov 28th and 1 on Dec 1st. Both reached out to me this weekend and I told them I'd reach out Tuesday this week if there was no additional information. Tuesday rolled around and I did a missing mail form on both items. About two hours after doing the missing mail, the one I shipped on Dec 1st was suddenly out for delivery. What was weird is it seemed stuck at a VA Distribution Center for almost a week. The one I shipped on Nov 28th was meant to go to Southern US but somehow ended up in California. Every day last week, at Midnight, there was a tracking update simply stating "Package is on it's way to destination." but nothing since Friday, so no updates Saturday, Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. Submitted the missing mail form and within 2 hours, there was a tracking update that it arrived in Alabama and the expected delivery was updated to Wednesday.
If there was only a single update within a couple of hours after doing the missing mail, I'd think that maybe it was a coincidence but to get tracking moving so quickly after doing both missing mail forms doesn't feel like a coincidence.
I have a lost one right now last updated in Delaware. Been saying "In Transit to next facility, arriving late" 3 days in a row. Last 2 days nothing. It's been 12 days now. Went to the PO to see if they could track it and they knew nothing.
I have also have received many complaints of late parcels. After research, found out at our main plant there are trailers upon trailers clogged up in the parking lot. Had some nov 28 packages that finally left with scan on the 5th. Happening in several locations across the country.
This summer I had a month that had so many missing packages I dreaded getting out of bed. I eventually sent a email to the Post Master General complaint Usps was ruining my business. They weren’t prepared when they rolled out ground advantage. So for several month you couldn’t put in for the insurance. Right after I sent the email I received a phone call from an investigator. I finally got answers as to where packages were going. And several other problems such as theft and mail men not scanning deliveries and customers complaining they didn’t get packages. Last three months back to zero problems.
I used to feel like I was a partner with Ebay. I no longer feel that way.
Ebay is just like every multi billion dollar company they've never cared about people, they care about money.
So far usps lost 2 packages and both were lost in Washington state . 1 media mail, been lost for a month so I'm SOL, the other last week on an $80 item. Still haven't found it. SMH
I had two boxes that were marked delivered on Jan 2nd and I think my neighbor stole them. My neighborhood is terrible. $200 gone.
Because the postmaster general is doing his best to dismantle the postal service and most people don't know the president can't fire him.
I just returned from time away for 5 days, received 3 messages about late packages, when I checked, tracking said all were still where at PO I dropped them off at before I left🤦♀️ I messaged the buyers I was away and would check on them at PO when I returned. Nice vacay vibe……not! Also had one in tracking picked up at same time I dropped it off, no way to track after that. I am in VA, buyer was in CA🤦♀️
My UPS store and local shipping store accept USPS. The guys store I drop off 90% of the time takes all shippers. even DHL. He gets a few cents for each package picked up. But he's always full, must be worth it.

I've had 3 separate problems with USPS in the last 3 months. Right now my package I was shipping to Hortense GA got to Jacksonville Florida and it went to Puerto Rico and has been sitting there for a week now. I open a report and 3 days later USPS called me and Closed the case without my permission. I recall them and still can't get no help from them. It's very frustrating.. back during Halloween time I had a package stuck in St Louis distribution center for 3 weeks before heading to Arizona. Got my first Negative feedback by this buyer and eBay won't correct the feedback. I've been at 100% feedback for years.
I live about an hour away from you in Rockbridge, so I assume your packages have to go through the same facility as mine in Richmond, VA before leaving the state. Currently I am having issues with things getting stuck there - both items I have sent out as well as items I have ordered. This includes Priority items that are sitting there at least a week or more with no tracking updates. It seems this is where all problems for us in this area are originating. Was told a few days ago by my local PO that Richmond did not hire extra help for the holiday season, and are currently gridlocked as bad as they were a couple years ago during the Covid days. If you look up recent news about Richmond USPS you will see reports on all the problems they are having.
Had a package deliver just today in Richmond after spending a full week at the distribution center there. It didn't start moving until I requested text/email notifications of the movement. It seems anything I ship to the SE is taking longer than anywhere else in the US. Boggles my mind!
I have two packages stuck in Richmond also. It has been scanned everyday at Richmond for 7 days and not moving out! My customers are not happy and neither am I.
omg kevin my package I sent out for a customer was sitting at the post office for a week. I had to contact post office then hold behold they finally scanned it in on this past monday. I did contact my customer to let them know I have been trying to locate their package. they was very understanding. Thank goodness it was a high $ items.

I've hardly had any packages not make their destination. I watch all my packages to make sure they get going and go where they need to.
My post office in Granite Falls is amazing. They never ask or have asked for a scan sheet. I drop them off and they usually are scanned when they leave the building at 4 pm M-F. I thanked them the other day and told them they are awesome.
Australia has likely the most pathetic postal service anywhere. They are disgustingly overpriced with limited options. Costs minimum $10.60 to post a tiny package, even if it weighs a quarter of a pound or under. Even selling a few books could cost you $25 to post, and I’ve had to pay $55 postage for a bundle of magazines. It’s so difficult sometimes to make anything out of some items.
My PO has a kiosk and I get to scan my own packages and get a receipt. But this time of year they don’t continue to scan the journey. I head this issue off and monitor the delivery dates. I message the buyer before they message me. I assure them that I will continue to stay in touch. Positive feedback.

I got the worst USPS story ever
Shipped a $150 item priority mail from Richmond VA and 2 weeks later tracking showed it still sitting at local sorting facility
Buyer and I both contacted USPS and within 2 hours tracking updated saying item was delivered in NY
Buyer filed non receipt of item with eBay the next day and within 24 hours eBay refunded them deducting the money from my account
I contacted USPS to get confirmation of the item delivery but got no reply and the next day the tracking changed to item undeliverable due to the address didn't exist and the package was being sent back to me
2 weeks later I still didn't get the package back and when I checked tracking it still showed the undeliverable message but now had changed from it being returned to me to saying that it had been disposed of by the USPS
I brought a printout of that tracking message to my local post office and they couldn't explain to me what that meant so I tried to file for the insurance and they told me it wasn't covered so I never got my item back and lost the money!
In today’s climax that sounds logical. 😂
I've had more items then I can count that I've sold using ground advantage not showing ANY movement in ebay tracking... then the day the items are out for delivery it updates.. its frustrating but so far (knock on wood) my buyers have been patient and understanding
Here in Reno we have a thief with a master key stealing mail everywhere. USPS not only fails to tell us but they won’t do anything about it. We only know thanks to neighbors on Nextdoor.

eBay Standard Envelope items are notorious for not getting scanned by the USPS's bulk mail scanning system. Buyers assume I haven't shipped the item, kick off a request with eBay and then receive the item a day or two later.

if the price is under a certain dollar amount i just refund, its funny you can weed out the scammers. Scammers wont be thankful and ghost you after initially contact. Honest people will be thankful

I have 2 items that were dropped at the post office along with 50 others. I saw them wheeled into the back. That was 10 days ago. They still haven’t been scanned one time. My customers think I still haven’t taken them to the post office! I will have hundreds of dollars in returns due to the usps this season. That come right out of my family budget. I had one thing sent 10 days ago that was sent to an hour away from me in Ohio. Currently is in the middle of Indiana after it traveled through Michigan. It’s getting really bad.
I've been going up to the counter. I try to go 10-11 am or 1-3:30 as there is less of a line. It has helped more than I knew I guess. I guess sometimes a line is worth it

I dropped a pgk to the post office and about 20 minutes later it said it was delivered, That is from Ohio to California. I said I needed to box myself in a box if I could get there in 20 minutes.
Hi Kevin. I won't use the scan sheets cause when a package gets lost that was on the scan sheet the post office won't pay out the insurance on it. I have friends working at the usps distribution center by me and said some trucks are sitting for 5 days before the load gets moved.
I avoid ups as much as possible. Closest drop off is 17 miles away and they don’t give a receipt for drop off and don’t scan. Knock on wood, no issues with usps. I don’t have a large volume though. 10-15 packages per week on average , so I have them always scan at time of drop off.
My local Post Office has not had internet service for 4 days now lol, how does that happen and go on that long ?
I've seen priority items go in the wrong direction and arrive way late and when it does arrive usps erases the tracking of it going the wrong way...
They also haven't stopped 'forwarding scams.' They usually go to PA.
I dont know what is happening in Tennessee but that seems to be where my packages go to die. Since Sept, I've had 4 packages get held up for over a week there and one was never found. Heads need to roll there.

I have a package right now that's not lost but seems to be constantly in transit. Shipped to VA on the 1st. Arrived in VA on the 3rd. Today is the 8th and the package is being bounced from one facility to another.
I made a sale on Mercari that was supposed to go from Texas to Washington, for some reason it ended up in Alaska and it’s been stuck there with no update for about 10 days now. Mercari said that the buyer can cancel the order if there is no change in shipping status in the next 24 hours
Weird that you had a poster not get scanned. I had the same thing happen. It didn't have any updated tracking for a week. The seller was a company. They insisted they sent it and asked to wait a few extra days. The tracking updated yesterday. It finally arrived today, 4 days late.
Honestly, I'm sweating here a bit due to delays with the postal system. I have around 14 orders shipped from Portugal to the US that haven't updated tracking since late November and, although I don't remember the last time I had an order missing(maybe 2 years ago?), this time is awful and I'm biting my nails hoping that I don't receive INRs. Also, Ebay is kinda crazy when they give a 12 day estimate for an order shipping to the US from Portugal, but a month estimate for an order shipping from Portugal to another European country. Go figure :/

Yeah, ebay's estimated delivery date has screwed me over a couple times. I'm in the US and ship to APOs but for some reason ebay gives 2-5 delivery day estimate even if it's a base in another country. It gave a buyer at an APO in saudi arabia a 5 day delivery estimate, there's just no way.
Hey Carla I’m Portuguese American, i have family in Terceira but live in the US. I buy & sell on ebay. Today I had a $300 collectible figure coming from China finally get unstuck and moving to me in the US. It was stuck in customs for a week and I was worried. Contacted the seller who was checking on it and suddenly it began moving to me. I don’t know how common it is but it’s never happen to me before as a buyer or seller.

Fortunately my items already moved as well last Friday after being stuck for a week. This time of the year is so nerve wrecking with packages and the dark cloud of INRDs hovering over our heads.
Hey Kevin! I'm a reseller in the Shenandoah Valley (Staunotn). I've had it where I ship an item with USPS and when you look at shipping it will say "Shipped from Staunton, Delivered in Staunton", so there was no way to track the item. I've had this 3 times in the last 2 years. Ends up being the post al person scanned the package incorrectly. Luckly the packages would show up like it should and the people were honest enough to telll me so. They most likely could have gotten a refund AND keep the package when it arrived...Other than that I have been having a pretty slow year, but people are still buying.. thanks and take care....BILL
I did a few eBay Gift Cards for Christmas this year for people like my mail lady to try to get more people to the platform too. I also do most of my gifting through eBay, I like to try to find other resellers on the platform and try to pass around the purchases lol
My experience this month...Three packages are missing. 2 Ground Advantage and 1 Priority Mail. Each sent on different days. This isn't a good thing for sure.
I shipped a package from Ohio to Florida on November 14th. Hasn't been seen nor heard from in a couple of weeks. Tracking says it's in Georgia. My local postmaster says it's in Maryland. I feel so bad, because this woman bought it two weeks ahead of time for her grandson's birthday.
The USPS just lost a $250 vintage postcard I shipped via a priority flat rate envelope. It was picked and scanned and then just disappeared. Not only the money but the buyer wants the one of a kind rare item
My local post offices do great, but very few besides myself and the few other local resellers I know never have their packages ready. I understand they don’t have a label printer. But most of the time they bring everything in a package it right there. I think Dejoy is still over the post office. I had one dealing with him or at least his assistant at a former job. He has a summer home in my area and he’s a deadbeat. At least as far as paying his bills.
Doubtful Dave will watch but.....if he did, he would call you out asking if you watched the video where he inserted (did you know) messages in his past video.

So far my Q4 has had no lost packages and it has been my best ever. Knock on wood!

I find customers have high demands in regards to the estimated delivery date. Somehow they have no understanding of the word “estimated”. Before the delivery date even arrives they are messaging stating that the package won’t reach them by the delivery date. Along with no patience for this being a busy time of year. Ebay should be padding delivery dates with a few extra days.

I accidentally ordered 500 4x4x4 boxes instead of the normal 4x6x8. I was in a bind so I had to use some before I could return and get the right size. I probably had 2 dozen of those boxes not get scanned in after I took them to the drop box and have never had that problem with any other packages. Some of them showed up eventually. Some did not. I had a party the day I used the last one
I’m with you Kevin, just had a buyer state their package didn’t arrive even though tracking shows delivery. If customers choose to use an open mailbox or porch delivery, I don’t believe it’s my issue. All my packages go into a locked Mail Drop at my home. Mail theft is a very real thing and customers need to set up a safe way to receive their packages.
I had a similar complaint from a customer a short time ago: they had been messaged by the courier that the delivery was due in the morning, they waited, the courier didn't appear but, on checking, the tracking showed delivered!
Happily (for me) that particular courier not only photographs the delivery address but includes the vehicle GPS tracking... both of which showed the driver had dropped to that wrong address (right house number, wrong street). By some miracle, I got through to the courier helpline without queuing for an hour and they managed to get the driver back, retrieve the parcel and deliver to the customer all within a hour of my receiving the query. Great customer service although I do still wonder how the driver got to the wrong street since he was supposed to be following GPS navigation.
Moral of the story; mistakes can and do happen (and I can defibitely confirm thatr havig worked as a 'casual' postman many years ago: covering an absent colleague's route I managed to deliver a whole street of mail to the wrong addresses. I only realised when I ran out of houses and still had mail in my bag (the right street ran up to about #100 but the street to which I delivered only had 60 houses...)
I had one too. She filed an item not received and eBay backed me. Then she called me dishonest and a liar.
Recently my USPS office can't get the scan sheets to work which makes them more work. Such a pain and a waste of paper. I'm having an issue with UPS. I dropped a pkg off the Sunday after Thanksgiving and it won't be delivered until 12/11. It sat for 5 days without moving and nobody could say why. It moved and sat again. Never had that happen.

Thankfully usps is doing pretty good as of now. Ups on the other hand destroyed a $1200 bronze statue🤦♀️ fortunately the buyer was very understanding and worked with me to file the insurance claim.
USPS piled First Class and Parcel Post together. That means that THEY decide if it goes by plane or truck. USPS, for the most part, isn't TOO bad. It could be better. I know someone who was a rural mail carrier in Connecticut for years. She knows first hand the issues, and is not pleased with any of them, she stays on top of the info. In any industry, you will have employees who don't give two hoots about how well they do their jobs. That means when your package should be scanned, EH, whatever. You also run into buyers who will lie about whether they got a package even though it shows it was delivered. I've had buyers claim I was responsible for WHERE at their house something was delivered. REALLY? Face it, when we ship something, we hold our breath and take our chances.
Sorry but I think their prices are horrible… I don’t know how sellers do free shipping…
Are you paying retail ?
I live in a small rural town and the postmaster is great. If a buyer messages me that they have not received and item, he will search it down for me. It usually eventually arrives at the address stated. This is happening more often that I would like, but I guess that's part of the game.
