"Perhaps they were discussing something more important." That scene gets me!
For REAL
💯+1
[SPOILERS] With our politicians so consumed in tearing each other apart, they have lost the big picture. Einstein walked away probably believing his legacy was the inevitable destruction of mankind. His greatest achievement and his contributions to science that allowed us to understand the nature of the universe would be used by mankind to kill itself. Strauss was so consumed with himself that he believed Einstein and Oppenheimer were talking about him.
One of my favorite scenes from the movie. For a story that is based on history and shouldn't have any twists, that was it for me. It shifted the audiences perspective just a little. You see that Stauss is an unreliable narrator, evident by the difference in his reaction when Oppie embarrassed him. According to him, he simply laughed off Oppie's comments while Oppenheimer sees Strauss' straight face full of contained anger. Not only is Stauss lying to Oppie, but the audience as well.
Quote of a lifetime!!!
Just left the Theater, thank you so much for this.
Same, was quite amazing
@@alexanderroblox4557 So beautiful yet so terrifying
@@TheGililgi During what scene was "Can you hear the music" playing?

@@HolyGayfish one of the first scenes, when we enter in introspection with Oppenheimer, seeing many images of what quantum world represents. And it's also obviously just after a character says to Oppie :"Can you hear the music ?"
Christopher Nolan is such an outstanding writer that he makes the secret conversation between 2 physicists more exiting than an explosion of an actual nuclear bomb. Incredible.
Absolutely not
@@peterparker9954 Absolutely yes
Nolan _is_ an outstanding writer, but to be fair, that is not as hard as it sounds. If you want something to be anticipated, tease it, reveal it late, have your characters refer to it. The movie does that for the bomb, but even more so for the conversation. Voila.
@@merlinc.4560 maybe because the bomb is not some fiction teasable event that people know nothing about XD
@@mariorad529 the movie was less about Oppenheimer the scientist, and more about Oppenheimer the communist suspect.... It was boring !
what a masterpiece. the music. the acting. the story. the directing. the cinematography. the dialogues.
the ending final 5-10 minutes, and especially last 10-15 seconds hit hard!!!!! profound!!!!!!!!! That moment glues the entire film into one masterpiece whole, fittingly named "OPPENHEIMER"
@soulpath1 Exactly what I thought. The film itself was superb, but the final seconds just blew me away. Like Nolan did with Inception, Tenet and The Dark Knight. What an experience.
Bro y’all are pathetic lmfao
@@soulpath1 myself and several people around me audibly said something to the effect of, "holy shit" after the screen turned to black.
Meh, it was good but not that good
The scene where they were deciding where to drop the bomb and the secretary of war just says "Don't bomb Kyoto because its culturally significant.. and because my wife and I had our honeymoon there." was insane. The fact that the fate of thousands of lives were decided by the minor, insignificant, offhand remark of someone on the opposite side of the world. And the fact that thats still how things are to this day. This movie was fucking fantastic.
that‘s america for you
The worst part is that I could hear the people in theater laughing and I was like that is sick.
That's the theme of the movie. That we're leaving the power of a god in the hands of these flawed little creatures who will use it to their own personal means, like Prometheus with fire. It's amazing that we went 80+ years without this story being told.
I saw it rwice and at this scene people actuallh laugh in disbelief, some say "WTF?"
Now look up Kokura… had conditions been poor over Hiroshima one particular day… Kokura would have been nuked. Had conditions over Kokura been any less worse or for any less time a few days later, Kokura would have been nuked.
Upon learning of it’s status as the secondary target of Little Boy, and the primary for Fat Man, the Japanese coined a new phrase… Luck of Kokura.
To be honest, I cannot believe how beautiful this piece of art is

I've never had my heart beat as fast in a movie theatre from sheer suspense alone. This movie was a real modern marvel; Ever increasing respect for Ludwig Göransson.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who felt this during the countdown scene. My heart has never raced that much during a film. It was so intense and powerful.
@@Fe-ironman I did wonder why they didn't show anything regarding the Japanese bombings. I assumed it was because the film tried to show as much of Oppenheimer's perspective as possible and wanted to leave that part up to your own imagination. Perhaps they assume the viewer already knows enough about how tragic and fatal those bombs were to not include showing them.
Suspense*
This movie better win a Oscar. Haven’t seen a movie in a long time where so much effort was put into it and kept me at my seat for all three hours while I sat in the movie theater. This movie is a masterpiece and definitely Christopher Nolan’s finest work.

“Can you hear the music” is something else 👏🏼👑
Most real comment
Notice: there is no music when the bomb goes off. There is no music during that moment to indicate the significantly relative difference in the speed of light and speed of sound.
@@keshavvajapeyam813it’s also a subversion of the audiences expectations. bombs in film are typically very loud and a big point of action in the film. this scene isn’t meant to excite the audience, it’s meant to force them to sit with the horrors of humanity for an uncomfortable amount of time. so instead of the expected loud sound, we get a long moment of silence
Amazing touch by Ludwig Göransson, both 5:10 and 1:31:44 sounds like a train speeding up as the chords slowly starts progressing faster and the two main chords acting like a trains horn. Absolutely Beautiful.
True...in the threatre it sounded so full

The overall scene was good but the explosion itself wasn't that impressive. Could've been better with CGI
This score MUST win at the Oscars. It's such a transportive masterpiece, what a film. Maybe will go as one of the best of all time.

I wish I could relive watching this film for the first time again. The Trinity Test was an experience like no other. Seeing Josh Peck’s hand shaking was what got me shaking. It was the icing in the cake. Everything was perfect. Teller putting the zinc cream over his face, knowing the UV damage. That one guy leaving the launch station just before the countdown hits zero because he so desperately wants to see the bomb go off with his own eyes. The way Oppenheimer was breathing heavily when it finally went off. The sheer silence. That was the most silence I had heard from a gathering of humans that size. You could here a pin drop in the theater. “I am become death. Destroyer of worlds.” And then BOOM. Fuck…
i had chills when those two sentences was said
Just saw it yesterday. The silence in the theater when the bomb went off was really extraordinary. We could just hear Cillian breathing heavily.
This movie plays like a bad dream, but then you remember it's more or less a reality
The silence in the theater... It was a marvelous moment to remember. It felt like we were "IN" The Trinity Test because everyone in the film and in the theater; we were all waiting for that moment, we were all breathing heavily and had no idea what was going to come up. Pure masterpiece...

Something about the connection between the music, cast, story, and cinematography with Nolan just gives me goosebumps every time.
Ludwig Goransson is so underrated. Whenever i look for a soundtrack, he is always the composer
He’s a genius !
It's either him or Hanz Zimmer
I feel that every soundtrack is how Oppenheimer felt in every moment of the film..Excited, Happy, Worried, Regret, Sad, etc and the end Terrifyng....
Can you hear the music
A masterpiece
Oppenheimer and Einstein's last scene was hats off one of the best work of direction, storytelling and background soundtrack
I am absolutely speechless. One of the best movies i have ever watched. The soundtrack is unbelievable as well. I was sitting for 5 minutes after the movie thinking about the masterpiece i just saw
I want to see how it holds up as time goes by.
Right now, I've just seen it, I often wait before I make any declarations about it other than "it's really good".
I'd love it if I feel like it gets better. 😅 I never claimed I didn't want it to be the best.
@@samf.s.7731 it's history it will hold up forever.its true events.odd comment see how it holds up?
The movie is a masterpiece and everything about the movie is just perfect...scenes between Einstein and Oppenheimer were the cherry in the cake.
76,000 views in one day. Everyone coming out of the theaters is looking for this music!
Oppenheimer will be a well known masterpiece for years due to this incredible soundtrack. It's magnificent.
29:34 that build up is insane 😮
I mean the ending! Simple one liner, epic music, that look of Oppenheimer, giving me shivers just thinking about it. I think this is up there with TDK and Inception ending as far as hitting you in the guts and just making you feel the emotions
Don’t forget Interstellar, the track “Where We’re Going”
0:04:38 - Can You Hear The Music
Speachless during the movie hearing this masterpiece !!
One of the best soundtracks of all time in any film. But to me the standouts would be Manhattan Project and Destroyer Of Worlds. I'm having them both on endless repeats on Spotify.
destroyer of world time stamp?
@@deceasedavocado6206 it's the second last section

Why don't you listen to soundtracks from composer before the Hans Zimmer area. Then you can listen to real craftmanship and real artists, and not this crap called music.
@@stefanandreas4705 we’ve probably heard it, we just so happen to be appreciating this music at the moment.
Somebody come get their grandpa
Just want to say one thing, RUclips should be ashamed of themselves interrupting this beautiful music ❤ with 50 ads, two ads every 10 minutes!!! SHAME ON THEM
Kudos to Ludwig Göransson, TENET soundtrack was also good. It seems like Christopher Nolan found a very good alternative to legendary Hands Zimmer.
Ludwig is no joke. He won academy award for Black panther
@@mannelijkewarrior did not know that!
Hands? 😅
Yup I still listen to tenet score especially meeting Priya, windmills, betrayal, foils and Amalfi
@@ppk143 I like it so much, for me TENET soundtracks are better than Oppens.
Congratulations! Very well deserved!
This isn't just a great movie. It's not only a masterpiece. It's something more
Its a piece of art ⭐️
1:29:52 I just cant stop listening to this, anyone else?
I am here ✋
23:08 Its actually insane how underrated this piece is! Absolute wizard stuff!
Groves is an incredible track. Had the pleasure of seeing the film today...blown away. Didn't really think Nolan had something like that in him. My film of the year so far.
What a masterpiece of a movie. What an incredible soundtrack.
Ludwig Göransson and Christopher Nolan are two geniuses colliding and recreating art.
Every part of this movie is perfect to me. This soundtrack is so good and you can just picture everything from the movie just from the music. Haunting, beautiful, intense, what an experience.
1:31:45 from now on, every time I hear that part I will remember that final scene and the applause of the whole movie theater
“Can you hear the music”💯LITERALLY GOOSEBUMPS
my mother (old lady, studied biology and loves chemistry - tried to convince me to study chemistry, i dropped out after 2 years because of too much theorie, but we both have deep interest in chemistry, physics and biology) she never went into cinema after watching Al Gores movie because she was so impressed but shocked, after 10 years i surprised her with a ticket to this film - while watching the film i saw her face - she was like in trance, like me (i was always a daydreamer, i always wished to zoom in a molecular process and this movie was like this!)
A lowly shoemaker is probably the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard. 😢
Just watched this movie Today, it was Sooo GOOD,I love the soundtrack🔥
Listen to this while going for a walk. You won’t regret it.
The second half of American Prometheus came on, now its a sprint
Might just be the best film I've watched. A Nolan Masterclass yet again 🤘
