I play violin in an orchestra and I can tell you these violinists are having a ROUGH time. The first seat is telegraphing their bowings extra clearly, they're all laser focused, much less cleanly in time than a professional orchestra would usually be, and they're really leaning on the harp for timekeeping too. It's not perfect, they're not all together, but it's a really impressive job for how stupid difficult the piece is
the vioins recorded in the originl were recorded part by part peice by peice, the violinsts were wisely picked out of 1000+ candidates who actually did this part amazingly.
@@innerpeace89 thats actually not true. they did record the piece in one take in order to be on tempo for the next tempo change they had a click sound on earphones 4 bars ahead the new tempo was played. so its even more ridicoulus how hard it was for the musicians to record this
Not true. The first video is the one where the actual orchestra, conductor, and composer played it Live at a concert (don’t know where). It’s on RUclips under Live Concert.
This is… incredible. Goosebumps. Potentially the hardest musical piece for orchestras to perform. Some details were off if you listen closely, but it was damn near perfect. To all the people here in the comment section, Look up „The Oppenheimer Themes’s wildly confusing timing“ if you want to know the art behind this music, it’s explaining how incredibly hard these pieces are to play and how they almost failed in the movie because they couldn’t pull it off for so many tries. That video also shows the solution that the orchestra had to come up with etc. I recommend you to to watch it.
When I watch a movie, I always find myself analyzing the soundtracks and music of the film. This movie was amazing, Nolan did an amazing job again, and I loved the casts too. The music was just indescribable. Nothing can compare to the feeling I felt when I watched this movie in the IMAX theatre. I had goosebumps. Literal tears. After the movie, I immediately listened to all the soundtracks over and over again, analyzing the change in rhythm and melody. I still am listening to the songs every day, I can just relate to it. I am also watching the movie over and over again, also reading the transcript and American Prometheus, I also am taking notes of the second a soundtrack plays and the second it stops, which soundtrack is playing, what scenes the soundtrack is used in and how it describes and emphasises the character’s feelings. By doing this, I ciuld better understand the movie and the music and I could also picture thr scenes of the movies while reading the transcript and listening to the soundtracks. Thank you so much for this masterpiece❤
Overall, Göransson is a true talent who is redefining film scores. His work on Oppenheimer is a testament to his creativity and ability to tell a story through music.🍃
Can you hear the music... even the kids at the movies were silent... not single work, not a single wishper.. even the people eating pop corn didn't move.. it was amazing the music... the tempo the change the visuals... the moment! Amazing what humans can do...
I am going to download this video and save on a hard disk,if I become a father someday I will show this to my son and tell him proudly that in my days we have these master pieces. Currently I am 22.
I was expecting for a long time an orchestral version of Oppenheimer. It's just amazing to hear this masterpiece. It seems to be even more incredible in reality! Bravo!
I appreciate their effort on using the civil defense siren as their theme throughout the performance. I can't believe that they fit the familiar sound perfectly into an artistic rendition.
Even though, Oppenheimer is my favorite movie ever, this live imperial orchestra is my favorite video on RUclips. Those who viewed this orchestra, you are unique.

The difficulty in it was certainly to replace step by step the strings by the trombone as the rythm increases. This is why it sounds different, compared to the original score in the movie.
Unfortunately, “Can you hear the music” is almost impossible to play. It was incredible difficult to record the score for the OST, so performing it live without mistakes would have been improbable! But for sure, totally beautiful still!
there were a few mistakes but it was really well done. Honestly i don't understand how they performed it so good as I understood the piece is almost impossible to play live.
In my youth, I perceived music’s role in movies solely as a sound. However, as I matured, I came to realize that the score plays a profound role in integrating deeper emotions with the film. The experience is truly captivating, transporting viewers to a realm where they become immersed in the universe itself.
On the dvd, the second disc is also 3-hrs long (!) and shows how every part of the film was done. The part where Göransson explains how he composed the score is jaw-dropping. I don’t think any orchestra other than the one he put together could’ve played that score. His wife is the first violinist and plays the solo parts. To see the actual orchestra play the more difficult sections of the score, see RUclips Live Concert video. Brilliant.
Listening to fusion part made me understand things that I was trying to understand a long time ago in my PhD dissertation, its just fascinating. This music makes you focus.
Hearing the orchestra use instruments reproduce what was probably originally electronic in Goransson's soundtrack (some of it anyway) is intriguing as well as cool.
i haven't watched the movie and i dont plan to currently. But i have never listen to a piece of music that has brought me to tears like this before. This is beyond beautiful.
