That was an amazing roadtrip. I never heard nor seen a white squirrel before, those waterfalls are gorgeous. We have waterfalls here in Norway but only for taking pics and videos, water sooooo cold grrrr.. The fireflies looks magical, never seen them in quite some time now. I'm local to this area and just wanted to give you a heads up... The synchronous fireflies are only found in Smokey Mountain NP specifically the Cade's Cove area on the TN side. You have to sign up for a lottery through the NPS in order to see them.

I live in Brevard, grew up here and one of the funniest things I hear is where can I find white squirrels 🤣 idk my back yard, we can’t walk two steps without tripping over them, I sometimes wonder if tourists smell different to them so they hide, idk why y’all find it hard to see them it’s odd when they are all around us all day.
Brevard is really wonderful. Visited to check out if it would be a good place for my parents to retire. A bit toooooo far away from civilization so they chose Chapel Hill but it is a SPECTACULAR place!
I get that, the isolated location is the one downside of Brevard for sure. Chapel Hill is awesome as well, great choice! We spent a year living in Raleigh and another year in the greater Triangle area, and couldn't get enough of Chapel Hill!

I'm trying to get vaccinated so I can see them. Haven't been able to cross the border from Canada for various reasons for almost 4 years! Yikes!!!
