Water retention, also known as edema, can be a frustrating and uncomfortable problem. It's caused by excess fluid in the body that accumulates around your feet, ankles, legs or other areas of your body. This can make you feel bloated and heavy and cause swelling in the affected area. Fortunately, there are several simple tricks to reduce water retention quickly so you can get back to feeling like yourself again. Here are 7 surprising tricks to reduce water retention fast!
    1. Drink Plenty of Water: This may seem counterintuitive, but drinking plenty of water can actually help reduce water retention. When you drink adequate amounts of water, it helps your body flush out toxins and balance sodium levels, which prevents your cells from retaining excess fluid.
    2. Get Moving: Regular physical activity increases blood circulation and helps your body expel excess fluid faster. So, try to get in at least 30 minutes of exercise each day to reduce water retention.
    3. Eat Potassium-Rich Foods: Eating foods that are high in potassium can help reduce water retention by balancing sodium levels in the body. Try adding bananas, spinach, sweet potatoes, yogurt, and avocados to your diet to increase your potassium intake.
    4. Cut Back on Salt: Eating too much salt can cause water retention, so try limiting your sodium intake. Instead of using salt, flavor your food with fresh herbs and spices for a delicious and healthy alternative.
    5. Take Epsom Salt Baths: Taking an Epsom salt bath can help draw out excess fluid from your body and reduce bloating through reverse osmosis. The salt pulls out excess fluids and toxins from your body. Simply add 2-3 cups of Epsom salts to a warm bath, soak for 20 minutes, then dry off and relax.
    6. Try apple cider vinegar: Apple cider vinegar is a natural diuretic and can help balance sodium levels in your body. Try adding 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to a glass of water and drink it twice a day for best results.
    7. Avoid Alcohol: Drinking alcohol can lead to dehydration, which leads to fluid buildup in the body and increases water retention. Try cutting alcohol out of your diet completely, or at least limiting it to 1-2 drinks a week.
By following these simple tricks, you can reduce water retention quickly and get back to feeling like yourself again! With just a few lifestyle changes, you can be on your way to reducing bloating and swelling in no time.

thanks for a well put together short and to the point video,, i would take out number 4 as i intuitively noticed that salt has absolutely no influence on water retention and you also forgot the biggest villain in water retention and that is processed carbs and sugar,,i have noticed my body can hold on to more water when i consume those things more,,though i thank god do not suffer from edema and actually already do most of the other things ,,what i just said is anecdotal, i still got some learning to do,am hoping to research and find a clip and short article that encompasses the most effective and lease discipline required things you can do to heal edema to send to my mom who is suffering from it,,its so funny to me the idea of someone avoiding salt, but gorging on salt-less processed carbs thinking their water retention will be solved,,but of course its also funny the confidence i express in my opinion when it relies solely on my intuition and have not seen anything yet supporting my claim,,,,,yes i do have a bias towards salt,,based on research and my understanding salt is a scapegoat for many issues whilst the real villain of those issues are ignored,,its actually a peeve of mine someone talking disparagingly about salt,,you got me triggered!!! LOL😊🤪😜

All the potassium rich foods you named are also heavy 'carboHYDRATE' rich foods that can cause water retention as well.. as that is what a C_H20 molecule does, it holds water and as glucose enters the cell it brings water along with it. . so eating carbs for the sake of getting a little potassium is usually not worth it. you want to eliminate carbs all together for a short time to rid the edema

@@BryanK-y5y modified "carnivore",, try eating a high protein diet with meats and healthy fats. do NOT restrict salt too much or purposely take in extra potassium. your body will balance those out naturally.. red meat, chicken, whole eggs, tuna, etc.. then use ONLY white rice for some carbs to fuel your activity levels. Keep veggie super low or none at all and take a small amount of psyillium husk fiber before bed mixed with 6oz of water.. give that a try to rid excess water, then slowly add only one fruit or veggie at a time

I drank plenty of water and Supplemented with plenty of electrolytes. It is way more swollen after driving home to Florida from, 6000 feet elevation. The pain is still annoying. Elevating while sleeping and soaked in Epsom salt. Took more magnesium and potassium and drank water. We still have fluid.

Thank you so much, I'm so bothered as my aunt & cousin have secretly been putting a lot of salt on foods & in foods when they cook to cooked. They wrongfully lied & I had a reaction to felt like I needed to go to the hospital. My body went into a shock & toxic reaction. So sad, yet they maliciously attacked me. They're been doing this for weeks.. Awesomeness, Thank you. I found out because two eggs were made for me & it was salty. My family lied & I looked at what was around, asked again, & he got mad because I put Italian seasoning on my eggs. I then waited till he slept & checked the products. I was pissed as the total amount was 1,250 mg of salt. One was chicken bouillon & the other was Lemon pepper where they added more salt & that had already an amount of 330 with more salt. Obviously totals more. I felt like I had to go to the emergency room. So crazy. It caused my Aunt & cousin to get really mad. I was attached, threatened, & I have internal external abdominal obliques & latissimus dorsi Injuries where this tripled my inflammations on all over my injuries.

I was on benzodiazepines but I went back to drinking when I couldn't get my prescription I went to an urgent care and begged the doctor to give me medicine so I wouldn't have a seizure. He literally told me to keep drinking I swear to God I couldn't even believe it I walked out in tears I went back in just to see if they could change their mind or do something I don't trust doctors anymore I'm a combat veteran and I never was drinking much at all maybe a couple times a year until the pandemic I lost my job and just started drinking every freaking day I'll never forget the doctor's name Jamie ott. He was a complete piece of crap.
