The sequel to the incredibly fun crossover puzzle game, #PuyoPuyo #Tetris, is here! And what a fun ride! I don't think the writing is as tight in this one as in the last game, but it has individual moments that I think are way funnier than the last game, with a premise that's just as interesting in my opinion. @@mamalacroix According to something that's not google translate(A Japanese dictionary I have at home) its the same as what it is in google translate: Seihokei. Which I got to admit, it does sound like a way cooler name than "Squares". The only reason I wouldn't change it because I love everyone's reaction when I tell them my favorite characters name(Yes even my own)

2:38 nah, this is due to a bad translation of her name. Her name is originally マール (maaru), which is a pun on 丸 (maru), meaning circle. It is just a mere coincidence that the names are similar. Meanwhile, Arle's Japanese name is アルル (Aruru), so they aren’t that similar in Japanese.
Oh thank god! I was worried there were gonna be 3 characters with super similar names in Japanese, Marle Arle and Rulue being Maruru Aruru and Ruru (although that would have been hilarious)
GOD I love Squares' voice acting.
SAAAME! as soon as I heard him, he became my favorite. Zeno did an amazing job! I loved listening to him every time he was on screen, even if he was the antagonist, if I decide to get this game I will unlock him as fast as possible, instant main!

20:23 Schezo as a matter of fact isn’t _uncharacteristically_ straight-forward in this game. That’s always been his personality. If anything, The original Puyo Puyo Tetris portrayed him uncharacteristically, making the innuendos his entire personality instead of leaving any breathing room like every other game he’s appeared in. The English localization of Tetris in particular was pretty trigger-happy, as even his Japanese version behaved just like PPT2 Schezo. It’s a shame none of the others are localized...
When I first heard 42:46, I immediately jumped to the comments section to see if anyone, ANYONE AT ALL, commented "First," and not a SINGLE PERSON commented it directly.

A few things I feel i should point out:
At 29:21, the wrong character is attributed because in the Japanese version it's Lemres who speaks there.
Chapter 5S (29:56) uses the wrong version of Marle all throughout, since this is from when she possesed people in Primp. I was kinda expecting it to be noticed.

Deader the Final survivor no there was a video that was called no 4-wides that had a player wreck a 4-wider(in the original PPT). If no nerf happens, there will probably be a sequel to that video, but if the nerf happens, we probably won’t.

How is it that you didn't say anything about the shockingly small role Ally plays in all this? Ally was a main protagonist in Puyo Puyo Chronicles, which I know wasn't released in the west but still, and yet all she does is give some of her power to Marle. They should've just made Lidelle relevant in the story and playable rather than force Ally in the game like this.
Yeah, I played her chapter and I was like "That's it? No coming across Amitie, Arle, and Ringo?"
From what I heard, Ally is literally only in the game as an apology for not localizing Chronicles, that's it. Why they didn't make Lidelle initially playable and have Ally be one of the first characters in the free DLC, I don't know.
You had no right to recontextualize "Thanks, Satan" and make it that fitting and funny
On the matter about Tee remembering some things and the others not, as far as I understand, it's that they forgot about things NOT from their own dimension (so Tee remembers being the Tetris King, but Amitie and Arle can't remember Suzuran). It does not explain why Tee remembers Ex is the Keeper of Dimensions (as well as the former Tetris King, as he says in another cutscene) and the others don't, though...
20:22 Technically there's a moment in Chapter 6 where Schezo accidentally says he's into muscular guys. In fact, you miss it at 28:34.

Say what you want about Squares' name, but he was a good antagonist. He was created by Marle to be an older brother who understands her feelings about Puyo Puyo and Tetris, but Squares took order way too literally, and possessed his younger sister so he can gather energy to fuse the two worlds. Even a beating from the heroes of both worlds and his SISTER couldn't stop him from thinking about his evil plan, and it was only put to an end when Dark Prince gave him an inspirational speech.
"There always comes a time when someone appears who seeks absolute control. And it doesn't matter if they're trying to conquer a village or an entire world. It always comes down to the same reason. The selfish heart of a single person. At the end of the day, everything worked out for the better. Keep walking. Keep growing. Give it some time, and you'll figure out your next moves."
Maybe it's just me being me, but Squares is probably the way to make a perfect antagonist. He was created by someone who imagines a perfect balance between fun and order, only for him to possess that same someone for his own twisted views on order. Even when he was put to a stop by the heroes of the two worlds, along with Marle, he still didn't want his evil plan to fail. It took Ex, Ecolo, and a inspirational speech from the Dark Prince to stop him.

Same thing is a plot point in Paper Mario Origami King. One character creates another, for some reason they are called siblings instead of parent and child. I know the created character is made to at least look a similar age to the creator but it bothers me. Wouldn't call it incest, but bothersome.

The difference between the two Marles is that the one possessed by Squares is fixated on fun without caring for the safety of others whereas the real Marle is only focused on it without being too obsessed, and also cares about the others' safety.

I never expected that game to get a sequel. I love it but I didn’t know other people did to the point that a sequel was wanted
The original game was imported like crazy years before its eventual localization. Primarily by Tetris fans who wanted a good Tetris game to play on their modern systems, instead of the technically maligned Tetris Ultimate by Ubisoft. I was one of those who imported the Xbox One version of the original game.

Side note for Sin No. 002: I can see why that's a problem so I wanted to show a solution I found in case this happens again.* I noticed that when you press A during auto-advance all of the character text dialogue will pop up without deactivating auto-advance. It only turns off when you press A again to skip that particular set of dialogue.
