Boss Rush Episode IV and Max of Maxx are what you’re looking for. There’s also Bosh Rush (Ver.SN2) and Barrier for SN2. Boss Rush X and Dance Drill 7 - 10 (like Dan courses) in X. X2 has VS Replicant and its higher level Dance Drill courses. X3 has the Revolution course. They definitely kept doing these after Extreme and they only got harder.
DDR timing windows are based on frames, so if a note is really late compared to the middle of its frame, then the timing window is highly asymmetrical. Assuming the note is in the middle of the frame, you can be off by 1/120 of a second (8.3ms) and ITG Fantastics are 21.5ms (based on actual time, for it's StepMania based), so 39% ... on songs with BPMs that don't divide 3600, it's harder to get a quad star than that suggests, for some beats would have to be hit 22 frames apart and others 23 frames (on 160, but others work similarly) ITG timing windows are 21.5ms, 43ms, 102ms, 135ms, 180ms, with the differences being 21.5ms (Fantastic to Excellent), 59ms (Excellent to Great), 33ms (Great to Decent), 45ms (Decent to Way Off) default StepMania windows are 22.5ms, 45ms, 90ms, 135ms, 180ms, multiplied by 1.50, 1.33, 1.16, 1.00, 0.84, 0.66, 0.50, 0.33, 0.20 for judge difficulty 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Justice.
