When I worked at a Ford Assembly Plant the doors where always a tad bit high till all the door mechanics was put in the door would lower down to the correct height
nice job I have always been a car guy ,(now 67 years old)I am impressed with what you have done. you were starting to get disappointed ,or frustrated but you stayed at it You turned junk into art thanks
I'm actually very extremely proud of your work Craig and this comes from the guy who has pushed your buttons on what "I" would do. I don't have any skin in the car so my mouth just blows hot air. I did this to earn a living and was considered very good at the trade. Every rig has its quirks and so be aware what works on one might not on another and you have knocked this out of the park!! I hope it makes you smile to hear that from me as you are a very intelligent person who in my thinking just needs a little shove to try it. Fear ain't no laughing matter. Those cars although you are selling the white one will only go up in price and knowing when to sell might take some patience on your part but you can do it. So saying that rather than sell as soon as possible,, if you can't wait on the money then at least advertise in areas that are hot ford country. I just hope who buys doesn't live in the rust belt after saving a real nice rig like this. In nineteen sixty three or even sooner you could go in and order the rig that you wanted and they had a racing suspension they offered then and boy howdy, all were tail draggers as it really brought the engine area up and stiff as all get out... teeth shakers they were.
I am a panel beater and have been for over forty years. Here in the UK we are struggling to get young people like yourself to come into the trade. You are doing a fantastic job...keep going. I will start posting videos of my Custom 41 Cadillac Coupe... I love Yank Motors.
It's so weird, I sub'd and started watching you way back when you were redoing the interior of your F-150. Then you bought the red Galaxy with all it's rust but, my favorite body style mind you. Now fast forward... I am so impressed the way you are learning all the different areas of car building better yet, Hot Rod Fabrication. By the way, I'm a disabled 59 yr old dude and I'm proud of you Craig! Keep up the good work, I'm so excited to see these cars completed! Oh yeah, excellent choice on rim's nice!
We have all seen the million dollar shops on TV turning out the amazing projects. I enjoy watching what you (the average dude) are producing at home just as much. Hope your parents are proud of your accomplishments.
Been there, done that. I truly admire how you are handling this at your age. Your talent is showing through and you will be a fabricator extraordinaire. Thanks for all you do for us. Enjoy all the videos, keep it up.
Incredible determination craig, fine job young man,you inspire us to not give up.heck you even go at it worst by working on two rather than so kudos, hats off to ur spirit or ocd!!!someone please donate or send craig a years supply of clettos and body panel clamps.i would but my ex took half my retirement already for the ten years i supported her during our rough marriage. Hear me out guys just date them or get that prenup othrwise ur left suckin wind!!!good luck getting it all together craig.snooky pa.
Gotta love Cali boys complaining about bondo and rust and callin em piles of crap, you should see what we drive in the rust belt! 🤪 Good job restoring this though craig, amazing work
Waiting to see the final results of all that metal work. You have earned my respect doing the metal work. There's people out there calling themself profecionals that do bad metal work and yours is immaculate.
Really excellent job Craig! Looks great! Some tips to help you out next time. TEK self tapping screws screws to hold your panels together once you have them lined up can weld holes later. In stead of cutting your weld gap all at once cut some weld some till you have it all. All in all you did better than a lot of pro shops would have congratulations 👏
Almost done with metal work? You still got another galaxie that needs a panel lol good job bud, it will all be worth it at the end. Just like Dennis Collins says “we are able to save another car and put it on the road for someone to enjoy”
Not many guys your age are into these old Fords. Skills are impressive - keep it up - also like how you are doing school at the same time. Good luck with both.
Nice work! I’m 65 and my first car was a 63 Galaxie 500 XL. It was my favorite, so I found a 63 fast back with a 427, four speed to play with! Sold them all about 46 years ago. You have given me some great memories! Wish I had your skills back then! Thanks!
You keep saying you're not a metal guy but I am highly impressed with the amount of work you put in and the attention to key details amaze me in every video. This is quality work, keep it up man. 👍
Nice work Craig! Yeah it’s work but how many guys do you know with TWO 64 Ford 2 door hard tops! Lucky guy you are. And also the stuff you are learning on this car will make the other one that much nicer. So it all works out in the end. Good job! Thanks for the entertaining video.
I really admire the quality of the work and the the overall dedication & you're workmanship & pride for the project(s) That workmanship & pride seams to be lost in a lot of the younger workers of today ( be it whatever project or career path they've chosen or job they are doing now ( just my observation... no solid numbers on that... but my eyes don't lie ) Now back to work... can't wait to see what you have in store for the car(s) but if you finish more than one you gotta go historic drag racing ( street/strip ) with one ✌😎 ( there's some good money in those big online sponsored 25K, 50K, 100K or more drags ! ( just think it could buy you another project car or two 😆 ) Thank you for the video 👍
It may not seem it , but the white Galaxie might have been the perfect car for you to learn on. What can the red car throw at you that you haven't already figured out ? Great job ! P.S. Loving the tunes .
I like watching you do this Craig for 2 reasons. First you are a work in progress. Second You remind me of those times when I was learning too. I never cut into the middle of a Panel except on a 71 Nova that the Client just wanted Patch Panels. I did Many Mustang and Camaro Quarter Panels. Did do a couple complete rear Clips, One Camaro and a 260 Z Datsun. Volkswagens Were My Favorites because they were built to be repaired. I would like to Suggest that whenever you can Stay away from Sharp Lines and Factory Creases, Rounded Surfaces are easier to Hide the Flaws. I had a 74 Nova Once that Needed the Left QP replaced and I was given a Patch Panel and was about to install it and this guy sold me a Complete 74 Hatchback with a very nice Body with a Broken 400 SBC So I pulled my 350 SBC out of the driver and put it into the Hatch. Turned out the 400 just needed a new connecting rod to be fixed and it ended up back in the Hatch when the Bottom end of the 350 dropped out on the Freeway one Night racing a Vette. Oh I'm getting off subject. My Advice is this Quit rushing some things. A little more Prep Time in the begging pays off in the finished project.
Craig don’t stop your awesome! So nice to see a guy your age dive into these with no car background and it’s cool your a ford guy. You would die if I told you how many of these Ford’s and Mercury’s 64 back to 55 I demo derbyed. Now I wish I would have saved a few. Keep up the good work and keep just diving in and learning as you go!!!
Thanks for the work. I spent the weekend rolling the fenders on my friends 64 galaxie so seeing the inside before was a big help. Keep up the good work you are giving me bad ideas of doing more body work.
Next time tac the panel to the car before you cut it to fit, that way the panel cant move and then cut a couple of inches, weld it then a couple more weld it and so one, it will make you life a lot better as the panel wont walk on you as it can with those panel clamps
I think you're in a better position than 99% of the people out there reselling cars at whatever stage of restoration. You've got all the vlog evidence to prove to the buyer it's worth the asking price or premium or whatever. Unless they want to go out and pay full price for a true rotisserie restoration!
Very great work Craig! Should be stoked on what you have accomplished. The music is going with the work. I will have to start my 1970 hood at some point.
Think of all the experience your getting in body work. Your on way to becoming a top notch car restorer . You are putting two cars back on the road . Love your channel.
You are learning as you go, which is the best way to learn. You will find from now on your metal work will only improve, and you can work out most problems you come across. Nice job, it's going to look the dog's doodahs!
I enjoyed this video. The work spoke 4 its self. Sometimes less is more in the commentary. As a child of the 60s/70s sorry to hear there will be no rake. Guess its going to look like the old 64 Gal road racer from back in the day. Videos of it running mini coopers here on RUclips!
Remember how he once said this cars a parts car haha I told you that you would fall in love with it give it the attention it needs and deserves beats the crap out of a new one nice work man
Just wanted to say the car is looking great! The wire trick was cool to see! Also, watched to the end. Your videos are always good for a solid show^^. Thanks for the hard work.
I really enjoyed this episode the bodywork is amazing great work I look forward to following the progress. Love the channel I watch with my son and he really enjoys seeing the rebuild process
Your working your ass off brother it’s coming out awesome I will be doing the same thing on my 67 galaxy and your videos are giving me the confidence to do it myself
Nice work. When you’re melting the lead out of seams, use a wire brush on it (not a little wire toothbrush) before it’s fully melted and the lead will just fly off. Less heat needed that way.
You should be proud of how that came out, because you did a really good job on it, especially for a self-proclaimed "not a sheetmetal guy." This car's gonna make one out of you yet lol. And for the record, us northeastern guys would KILL to have started with a car in the shape that one was in when you started...lol.
I have to say this brotha.. about your comment @1:12 saying it should have been crushed. The car is not that bad, we are spoiled here in CA especially here in SoCal With all the problems we see that it has someone lets say in Indiana would give there left tit for a solid galaxy like your's.. Also i have had the same feelings when i built my 65 Malibu but it wasn't the car it was me being pissed about all the work i had to do and not seeing the bigger picture of the outcome. Plus you know you are getting rid of it after you are done building it and not being able to enjoy the fruits of your labor by keeping it
Doing an awesome job. Keep the videos coming. If you're selling still selling the white one, the buyer should appreciate all the hard work not to mention the money you've invested 👍
I have a '66 Galaxie 500 Fastback I am redoing and hope that I get half the results you are. Great job man! I only saw one problem... once you get done you aren't gonna want to sell it. Hahaha. Keep it up pal. As far as the ride height goes you might want to look at a set of mini-tubs for the rear to replace the factory inner wheel wells to give you some rom to work with.
You're doing an excellent job Craig, just remember, these 64 galaxies are getting harder and harder to find in "any" condition,so yes,it's worth bringing back.
Nice shirt. I went to Funny Car Fever at Sacramento, on Saturday. My buddy's full on drag '64 Fairlane made it to the finals. Nice job as always, good Sir.
When I worked at a Ford Assembly Plant the doors where always a tad bit high till all the door mechanics was put in the door would lower down to the correct height

one of the best channels for automotive content for sure.

Good job Craig. It’s been fun watching you get more skilled as a fabricator. You did a hell of a job on that.
We have all seen the million dollar shops on TV turning out the amazing projects. I enjoy watching what you (the average dude) are producing at home just as much. Hope your parents are proud of your accomplishments.

Hey Craig, you're getting better all the time. That is nice quality work by any standard. Good job.
Awesome work from someone who started doing bodywork just like this over 28 years ago, great job.
Gotta love Cali boys complaining about bondo and rust and callin em piles of crap, you should see what we drive in the rust belt! 🤪 Good job restoring this though craig, amazing work
You have saved the car Craig! Great work!
That door gap is probably better than when new. Nice work!
Waiting to see the final results of all that metal work. You have earned my respect doing the metal work. There's people out there calling themself profecionals that do bad metal work and yours is immaculate.
I’ve been really diving into this channel lately. Been watching every new release!
tackling a car like the white galaxie shows some huge determination, nice work!
Yes, you are a metal guy. Your channel is prime too.
Great job on the quarters Craig gonna be beautiful when it's done if you need any trim for the car I have a ton extra from doing mine.
It's called learning curve plus you are gaining experience you're making a great job keep it up😃
Really excellent job Craig! Looks great! Some tips to help you out next time. TEK self tapping screws screws to hold your panels together once you have them lined up can weld holes later. Nice job kid.from 73 year old who started body work at age 16

Dude. You're not an idiot. You're never scared to try something new. You're not an idiot if you learned something from it. Keep on keeping on. ✌️
I really admire the quality of the work and the the overall dedication & you're workmanship & pride for the project(s)
That workmanship & pride seams to be lost in a lot of the younger workers of today ( be it whatever project or career path they've chosen or job they are doing now ( just my observation... no solid numbers on that... but my eyes don't lie )
Now back to work... can't wait to see what you have in store for the car(s) but if you finish more than one you gotta go historic drag racing ( street/strip ) with one ✌😎

( just think it could buy you another project car or two 😆 )
Thank you for the video 👍
I can’t wait to see everything on the red car done that thing will be cherry once Craig’s done
real cool to see you grinding out hours for something that probably shouldn't be repaired. I appreciate the dedication and perseverance craig!
Your metal work is looking really good. Nice work, man.
Good job, also don’t forget about the experience and skills your learning for your future projects
It may not seem it , but the white Galaxie might have been the perfect car for you to learn on. What can the red car throw at you that you haven't already figured out ? Great job !
P.S. Loving the tunes .
Pandora has been defeated. Great job Craig!
You made a metal guy out of yourself! Nice work man, and all done by yourself, you deserve special places at carshows

It's very rare to recondition a vehicle and not have surprises good luck and keep learning .I'm 70 and still learning every day.
The work you are doing on this car is FANTASTIC! The level you have set for your standards is spot on. You are exceeding them by far.
Craig don’t stop your awesome! So nice to see a guy your age dive into these with no car background and it’s cool your a ford guy. I like how you are not taking the easy way out on the repairs you are doing. The project is shaping up nicely.
Thanks for the work. I spent the weekend rolling the fenders on my friends 64 galaxie so seeing the inside before was a big help. Keep up the good work you are giving me bad ideas of doing more body work.
You've more than earned my like sir. Job WELL done!
Good job man, body work isn’t a easy thing to do right. She’s coming along!!
Your work looks better than most body shops as far as attention to detail. Keep on moving along and you will be so proud.
Next time tac the panel to the car before you cut it to fit, that way the panel cant move and then cut a couple of inches, weld it then a couple more weld it and so one, it will make you life a lot better as the panel wont walk on you as it can with those panel clamps

the way you keep all these products going is amazing. top notch work, too!
Very great work Craig! Should be stoked on what you have accomplished. The music is going with the work. I will have to start my 1970 hood at some point.
Nice work, definitely nothing wrong with being a perfectionist...
Think of all the experience your getting in body work. Your on way to becoming a top notch car restorer . You are putting two cars back on the road . Love your channel.
Can't wait to see the final product, Craig... Watching your progress is great.
Cant wait to see them done! Good job bro👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

One hell of a job on the 64 white one. Good choice in music ttoo
Nice job Craig! You’re inspiring all of us dude.
Nice work. When you’re melting the lead out of seams, use a wire brush on it (not a little wire toothbrush) before it’s fully melted and the lead will just fly off. Less heat needed that way.
Can't wait to see her done. That's so awesome man
My first car. Red 64 Galaxie XL. Great work!

Craig you are becoming a great metal and body man good job
Videos teach all yor generation you DIY it yourself just takes practice.
what would have been cool, mainly 'cause you don't see them anymore, is fender skirts
Doing an awesome job. Keep the videos coming. If you're selling still selling the white one, the buyer should appreciate all the hard work not to mention the money you've invested 👍
Great job on the panel dont be so hard on yourself it was alot of work and you did a great job
these videos are super inspiring because I'm just starting body work on my 1972 c10
Nice work, good recovery, back on track👍.
Great job, easy to see that you're getting better with your skills.....
All I can say is, you're the inspiration for all the body work I have to do on my '83 F150 lol
I'm impressed Craig, Good Job!
Your intro has been my experience restoring an antique F150. Probably should have left it for the crusher, but it was my dream truck.
Not one single skip. Love how it’s coming out !
I think you're a metal guy now!
pro tip: watch movies at Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching lots of of movies during the lockdown.
@Tony Bowen Definitely, been watching on flixzone for since november myself :D
amazing work brother!
Looks good man, nice progress!
You're doing an excellent job Craig, just remember, these 64 galaxies are getting harder and harder to find in "any" condition,so yes,it's worth bringing back.

Great job sir. You should be proud of that.
You did a fantastic good job ...........before welding the back panel test fit the trunk gaps
Great practice for the red galaxy. Great brave job😎
Pretty good job, thanks for the post
Nice shirt. I went to Funny Car Fever at Sacramento, on Saturday. My buddy's full on drag '64 Fairlane made it to the finals. Nice job as always, good Sir.
Thank you I. Have learned so much from watching your videos amazing job on the wheel arch radius
