I now have a MUCH better understanding of how "pin in pin" stacks work. THANK YOU! The reason the owner never sent a key, may be that he doesn't have one. If this is the case, it would be a VERY nice gesture to make him one.
I have to say the only thing that was not quite right was the MTL key... It is not the same keyway. The key only goes in so far then stops. That's because the warding starts 2/3rds the way down the keyway. It leaves the opening wide and inviting to the key and still keep the security of a restricted keyway. Great Pick & Gut. Cheers and Happy Pickin!
@Bosnianbill I recently did a video of one of these, and found the key had cuts for 5 pin sets even though it was only a 4 pin set lock. Also, there was an interactive element. I also struggled with a very low cut outer pin, so your idea of sharpening the leading edge of the picks seems like something that will really help me out. Thank you for another great video!
Great picking and helpful tips (especially like the sharpening of the pick tip) Also glad to see that GOSO rake is in your kit, I find that rake very useful on the chinesium dimple locks 👍🏻👍🏻
Keep fighting the good fight! Dimple locks always frustrated me. I kept at it, and opened my first Mul-T-Lock pin-in-pin a couple days ago. Far from a pro, but its progress! 👍🏻
Nice job in the pin in pin. Lived the walk through tutorial as you picked this bad boy. Curious as to how you know you are only picking outer pins in ther lock?
I have no idea how lock picking has become so fascinating to me. But after watching LPL and Mr Bill here I would call Mr Bill's style the drunken Master. it appears that he fumbles or he falls and slips but next thing is a KO.
BB only does one take... LPL won't push record until he's picked the lock multiple times. I generally like Bill's style a bit better since it shows us the problem solving and troubleshooting process.
I don't really see how a clear lock would benefit you, you can't see the inner pins as they bind against the outer pins so from the outside it just looks like a regular lock with a small pin sticking out. As for training locks I'd scroll through alibaba to find a chinese knock-off version, they won't have the interactive element but there has to be a pin-in-pin lock made with shitty tolerances and no security pins there
I am still working on basic pin tumbler lock designs, of with there are a lot of training locks available. Does anyone make a practice lock for pin in pin or do you just have to start with a standard lock?
It is when you lift a pin too high so key pin is above a headline. Will never open till you get it back down usually by raking with light tension or starting over.

Hi Bill, can You guess why You were not able put that key in? Because Lock is copy of MTL interactive and there is begining shaped profile/keyway just behind interactive pin You missed at looking at core, check it again, it was visible at video... ;-) feel free to ask me for more details about MTLocks...
I see a lot of "locksmiths" in my area using these and selling them as true high security. Any legit locksmith would only sell genuine MTL, not these cheap knock offs.
agree, and l do believe this lock is true high security! ruclips.net/video/RKRo97N1PJI/видео.html 03:15 can see a special key (9 pin, pin-in-pin) 14:01 the lock core seems to be used in deadbolt lock as well
I love the play by play commentary. It's extremely instructional. Master class! The color commentary is great too.

You're right! The DeGuard uses 206G keyway while the key he had was 236B.
You make it look so easy... maybe one day I will too. For now, back to figuring out serrated pin picking.
So glad you pulled that cat hair out at 2:47, I saw it go in with the key, and then it was all I could see!
Thank you for showing and explaining how these work. I've been wondering how the pins were designed.

Morning Bill, nice walk through. thank you.
I've just recently took up picking dimple locks so your last few videos have been like the universe telling me dimple locks are awesome.
Thank you Bill, you've imparted so much great knowledge over the years!
Nice picking and explanation Bill. Now I want to try one of these!
Very informative for us noobs out here, thanks!
Great video as always . Thank you Bill !!!
Morning Bill! Happy Monday.
Thank you for getting that cat hair 😂
Great picking and helpful tips (especially like the sharpening of the pick tip) Also glad to see that GOSO rake is in your kit, I find that rake very useful on the chinesium dimple locks 👍🏻👍🏻
Lots of good dimple picking info Bill. Also good to see you didn't screw up the gutting... for once!.😁✌🍺🇦🇺
😮
having just started lock picking You make it look so easy Bill
Thanks for the video
Good morning Bill, thanks too hard of a pick for me yet, but I'm working on it 👍👍👍👍
Too hard for most! Let's keep working at these locks until we can say we got it.
Keep fighting the good fight! Dimple locks always frustrated me. I kept at it, and opened my first Mul-T-Lock pin-in-pin a couple days ago. Far from a pro, but its progress! 👍🏻
I wonder if a cat burglar tried to pick that lock. 😂😂😂
Nice work.
Nice job in the pin in pin. Lived the walk through tutorial as you picked this bad boy.

What do you mean about a gate keeper
Nicely picked Bill
Good Job Bill. would this work with say a small diamond pick if I say rounded the end down so it slips under? Thanks 👍
It should. Give it a try.
@@bosnianbill I will. Thanks Bill 👊👍

I don't understand how people can give him a thumbs down
What's the logic in not sending the key with the lock?
People don't want me to see how the lock is bitted before trying to pick it.
@@bosnianbill They can tape it up like they always do. It's easy to see if the tape has been removed, so it still puzzles me a bit.
Could you find out why your key did not enter all the way?
Would serrations make a difference in the pin-in-pins?
wow called them all. 1,3,4 spools #2 standard.
So why didn’t the key work? Was it the wrong key or was the lock faulty?
Are you messing with me...? Did you watch (and listen) to the video? Try that, and if you still have questions let me know.
Bosnianbill
Aww sorry man probably missed it. Only had 3 hours of sleep so I’m a little bit slow today 😅
One inch cylinder is always 4 pins. Use Rotor Pick it takes 2 minutes
Has anyone found a clear/training version for this kind of pin in pin lock?
I don't really see how a clear lock would benefit you, you can't see the inner pins as they bind against the outer pins so from the outside it just looks like a regular lock with a small pin sticking out.

Where can I buy this lock? Can't find it online.
wheres the buy link
Is it just me or is there no sound? All good reload fixed it 🤣
Good thing you got sound working because there's a lot of info here!
This lock use pin-in-pin
the 9 pin key is amazing and seems more security

Forensics may say that a lock shows evidence of having been picked. Can Bill walk us through that?
What does over set mean.
It is when you lift a pin too high so key pin is above a headline. Will never open till you get it back down usually by raking with light tension or starting over.
@@dougmasten5517 thank you
Meant to say "key pin above shear line", not "headline"- darn auto-correct!
Are you quadcopter 101?

Since Tiger Boy did not deign to send you the key, you should send it back to him all gutted in a body bag and let HIM put it back together again!
The best way to learn is by making mistakes.
Yeah “cat” hair haha nah just kidding
