I've watched your channel for a few years now and I was wondering if you've every spoken to anyone about your frequent bouts of anxiety? We only see of course what you put out for us to see, and so many of your videos have a calm vibe intermixed with your busy schedule managing a few small businesses. And you do frequently mention anxiety. You take such good care of your body, and try to keep a good mindset. Anxiety that affects your life frequently is something that can be treated. Just a thought from a caring viewer.

Obviously we don't see everything, but something that struck me in this video was how healthy and happy your relationship seems. As someone who has struggled to build healthy relationships with partners (especially being a part of the LGBT+ community), I was hoping you two would feel comfortable sharing how you got to this point and what you think are some of the things you have done right to build a healthy relationship. I think hearing your perspective would be helpful to a lot of people, including myself ❤
"the mundane is a privilege"... i love that! and it's so true. the fact that everyday things are "mundane" means they aren't anxiety inducing -- i.e. my survival is not dependent on them. the fact that things are calm and "boring" means i am doing just fine, which i sometimes forget is something to be grateful for. thank you! and i'm glad you and ryan enjoyed new york! 💕

Same here. I've been stressing about my own timeline...undone things...getting completely overwhelmed, anxious and depressed. Today I am intent on cutting down my 'list' one thing at a time. Each thing off the list will mean that particular stressor is let go of; and In about two weeks I'll be free and clear. I have a very long list! (I also took stock of my accomplishments to date, and noted that I really do have the runway space to pull this off.)

New York is such a great city. We were just there after so many years away. Only spent three nights there a few weeks ago bc it's damn expensive, but we actually went in this huge adventure where we flew to NC for my brother's wedding for a week, the rented an SUV and drove to DC to rent an apartment for a whole month and just camp out there, explore the area, work and live in a new place, then drove to NYC and back to DC. Getting out of mundanity and routines was exactly what we needed this time around, in order to appreciate it again when we got back to Cali. We are huge fans of appreciating the everyday and the routines. Then shaking it up once in a while to have a big life adventure.
Haven't finished the video yet but sorry you have anxiety. My husband had a bunch of anxieties about our trip (no time to get into all of them) -- and he overcame them all, after years of living with them. You will too, Joe.

I enjoyed your vlog. Such a short stay in NYC. I realize you were there for the coffee expo but it's too bad you didn't take in a little theater. Maybe that's not your thing. The theater, museums and other cultural outlets are the reasons I go to NYC. I live in LA and the cultural scene here doesn't compare. But, as you often say - you do you. I love how you ended the vlog - romanticize the mundane and the mundane is a privilege. I've done a lot of traveling so far this year and the idea of returning home and to the mundane is quite appealing. You guys are great together. Stay well.

What helps with my ruminating thoughts is to separate myself from my thoughts. I will repeat over and over "I am not my thoughts" which is so simple but it interrupts my rumination so I can process my anxiety. Being tired doesn't help either.

I understand travel anxiety, I travel a lot and some places I go to trigger something, I don't know. I take the book "30 Days to Reduce Stress" by Harper Daniels with me, it has a lot of mindfulness exercises to do while traveling and it's light.
