Watch me create an abandoned library inside of a book. I'll show you a new chipped paint technique you probably haven't seen before.
Some of my favorite things:
Double-sided flooring tape
amzn.to/423tJwL
Miter Shears: these are the clippers I use to cut pieces of wood and toothpicks, etc
amzn.to/3sQJnhe
Dirty Down Rust Effect paint
amzn.to/3xjxOBu
Oyu Pla/Oyumaru reusable mold putty
amzn.to/44KaaJz
Cheaper, clear mold putty I haven't tried
amzn.to/45JiAlB
2 oz bottle of Diamond Glaze
amzn.to/3zmMLR1
8 oz bottle of Diamond Glaze
amzn.to/3zpiMbm
Heat gun: I use mine to quickly dry paint, soften the glue to dismantle furniture, and quickly cure polymer clay without an oven. It gets a lot hotter than a hair dryer.
amzn.to/3YBAIcH
Craft heat gun that doesn't get as hot as mine
amzn.to/3ZZ5wWe
Paper fasteners & 1/8" hole punch

Even if you didn’t do such great work and give such fabulous tips, I would still watch your videos to make me smile (sometimes laugh out loud). Love your sense of humor. The library is wonderful.
Totally agreed 1000%
You're the best! Thank you 😊
Thank you 😊
You're too kind!
Definitely 😊
HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE OVER A MILLION FOLLOWERS YOUR VIDEOS ARE ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE
I agree! Like and share 😆 thank you
Can I just say i have always enjoyed the style of narration in your voiceovers!! The combination of your cadence, snark and "How matter of fact" you are about all the things is just really enjoyable!!
Not to mention you have alot of great ideas for things to make and creat that you share with all of us here on RUclips!!! Thanx!!
Wow, thank you! I appreciate that so much
As do I! Your tutorials are fun and easy to follow along. I have made mini books using your technique video you did and I had a blast!
Poor window and books being abandoned like that....I love it❤❤❤
Thank you 😊 There are some amazing images online of abandoned libraries.
that hint about the rubber bits on fingers is great
It took me a long time to realize that
Oh, I love altering real books and book boxes. This one is awesome. I just want to go there and dig through all those old nasty books. The window is beautiful. So happy to finally get a real video not just the shorts. I always look forward to your talent and dry humor. Have a great weekend.
Thank you so much! I've been settling in at my new house so I'll be getting back to my regular schedule.
The stained glass window is my favorite part, so pretty too bad it had to be broken it came out beautifully
I'll do this technique again!
Using the spine of a catalog for books is brilliant!!❤ Thanks for sharing!👏🏻

Here's the video for making books and magazines
I just love everything about this. I love the way you narrate and all the awesome ideas you put into every step
Thank you so much!
You do great work! Thank you for your videos! I hope your move went well & you have a wonderful rest of your summer!😊
Thanks so much! 😊 I've been settling in at my new house. I'm excited to get back to my regular posting schedule.
Normally those types of box cutters have a double sided blade. The other side may be sharper so just turn it around. Also some box cutters have extra blades stored inside them.
I hear you. I've already turned the blade around multiple times. Both sides are dull.
Super cute! Another thing to add to my ‘try and make one’ list 😊
Please do!
I absolutely love this little library!! You're so creative 😊😊
Thank you! 😊
I loved this!! And I can't wait to try out your hair spray technique, I agree it makes a big difference compared to just sanding. It came out beautiful❤❤
Thank you! I saw it on RUclips from a woman who's a furniture flipper. I don't remember who.
Another winner Shyra! Even with projects that I will likely never do I always learn something new! Thanks for another great video!
You are so welcome!
That turned out SO awesome. I love that stained glass window, it turned out so nice.
Thanks so much! 😊
Wow so many great ideas in this video! Your idea for cutting out the centers of the window frames is brilliant!! I’ll definitely be trying that out. Thank you😊!
Have fun!
I love, love, love your abandoned library shelves. I want to do a library like The New York Public Library or Bibliothèque nationale de France or Trinity College Library in Dublin, but that is an EXTREMELY ambitious project, so I think I will do one like yours first. LOL. I totally love it.
That's a good idea! Baby steps
Just now seeing this! Love love your work❗️You have the best tips & aren’t afraid to share them! I’m still working on my Puerto Rico outdoors kitchen!😮 it’s been months❗️Your commitment is outstanding🤩❣️🕊️
You got this! That sounds like a great project
I loved the reference to little Gretchen who i affectionately refer to as Mama Doll. And the other channels as well. Credit where credit is due right 👍. Another great video 😁.
Absolutely! It's a great community here
Your creativity is off the charts! Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful! I love abandoned scenes. Thank you. This gave me some inspiration for today!
I'm so glad!
This is amazing! I really love the stained glass window ❤
I appreciate that! It was fun to make.
That exacto saw is a winner. I want one!
What a fantastic video - a keeper. Well done.
Thanks! That saw was given to me. It really comes in handy.
I saw some with different shaped blades on TEMU.
@@Suebear6157 in the morning I’ll have a look on Temu. Thanks for that.
8:00 "...watered down Waverly dark wax...." How on earth did you manage to say that so effortlessly? 😂
This little abandoned library is absolutely beautiful! It certainly sparks my imagination.
Good question! That wasn't my first attempt. Voiceover is the worst!
@@queencityminis I can imagine. But you do it so well.😊
Absolutely wonderful! Your voice is so soothing, as well. Thanks for sharing your talents with us!
Thank you so much! My pleasure
I've used a similar technique to what you did on the back wall of the book. I used facial tissue that I peeled apart to make fake stucco walls on a little diorama.
That's really clever!
Love the idea and result, those shelves are great!! 🙌🙌🙌
Thanks so much! 😊
An amazing treatment for an awesome find!!
Thank you so much
Your sense of humor!! 😂
Thank you 😊
I love this. It’s amazing.
Thank you 😊
This is fantastic! And the rubber finger protectors, oh my gosh, great tip, I am out the door to get some.
Thank you for this awesome video. Enjoy your new home 🌼🙂🌼✌
You are so welcome! I got them from the Dollar Tree
@@queencityminis Great to know, thanks! We're getting a bunch of new Dollar Tree stores soon they bought the spaces that used to be the 99 cent store, can't wait 🙂
Super cute! Love your work.
Thank you so much!
Oh I missed this! Nice to see a new video and it's awesome as usual 😊
Thank you! 😄
She's using math to make the window! :O haha looks great!
No math!
Very cool. It looks great!
Thanks!
You are fun ! Thank you for sharing this project
You are so welcome!
This came out amazing!🤩
Thank you 😊
I love your tutorials!🥰
Thank you so much
Very cool
Thank you 😊
Really liked this
Thank you 😁
Have you already flipped your exacto blade over to the fresh point?
This is freaking awesome! Such a great project when you have a hankering for making minis but don't have the room that ultimately takes up, upon completion.
I have a bunch of replacement blades
@@queencityminis if you're ever in a spot where you don't have a replacement blade, you can flip your current blade to the unused corner
I need an exacto saw…..i just spent waaaaay too long cutting through magazine spines with my exacto knife…
You are correct…its a pain the the butt
haha I want that exacto saw too.
It's pretty damn great
That saw was given to me. I never would've bought one. It really comes in handy, so I'm glad I have it.
What a cool idea for a book box. I have been making an abandoned haunted house and I think I keep over doing it with the aging, I like how you have done all your aging so I will keep that in mind next time.
It is easy to overdo the aging bc it's so much fun. You need to stop yourself while you're ahead.
I love this! So cool!
Thank you so much 💓
Beautiful!🎉🎉🎉
Thank you! 😊
Wow! Rubber fingertips to keep the image from moving!! How knew!!!!
Or even like a pair of those cheap gloves that stretch to fit the hand.. as long as they don't have the fingertip spots that allow you to use touchscreens when wearing them!!
Right?! Took me a while to figure that out
True! Some fabric gloves without fingertip touch sensors would work as well. I have winter gloves like that.
I love this one ~ its awesome because u could make different things like this. ❤ thank you
I agree. The sky is the limit for book dioramas.
WOW! ❤
Thank you
I need one of those saws. Great idea. Love the video and the narration.
Thanks! It really comes in handy
Cute!🥰
I appreciate that
Great ideas and a great job Shyra! I’m trying to think of a mini project at the moment and this might be just the inspiration I need. Thanks so much for the video.
Pam 👏🏼
Go for it! Have fun
@@queencityminis 😘 Thanks! x
How absolutely fabulous using a book to make a mini library out of. I will have to give this a try. Thank you so much Shrya for yet another wonderful video. I really do look forward to them. Did you try out any alcohol inks yet?
Thank you :) I have alcohol inks now, but I haven't used them. Now, I don't even know where they are.
Love the stained glass window and idea of using an old book to create this abandoned piece.
Thank you 😊
@@queencityminis , You're welcome!
Looks fabulous!
Thank you 😊
"Thinking ahead..." I assumed I was good at thinking ahead until modelling taught me otherwise. Kev. 😒
Same! I've been humbled
Oh wow I loved the chipped paint technique, I'm gonna have to get some hairspray now lol. For the lead lines on the stained glass window, have you tried those Cerne outliner paints? I bought a tube to make some stained glass windows in the future, but I haven't given it a go yet. I'd love to know your thoughts on it if you have used it before.
I do have a cerne outliner. I have no clue where it is since I moved. I'll have to locate it.
That is awesome
Thank you 😊
❤❤❤
Thank you 😊
i'm trying to make a book-box diorama too, of the gryphon room from alice in wonderland (1999)
That sounds amazing!
Would look good with astrolobe
I had to Google that. So true@
I had to use the transcript because I couldn't understand much of what you were saying
Use a deeper register, you can do it.
Why should she? Use the transcript, that's why it's there.
@@TR-rz1xtI Know That's Right!!
I probably can't. Doing voiceover is the most tedious part. I need to use my natural voice.
