Aside from your amazing creations, I think I am most impressed by your willingness to experiment with new and untried techniques and materials. When I finally get situated enough to start my project, I can see that I will be rewatching a number of your videos to create the "little details" that will give it just the touch I will be looking for! Since this eventually worked out, I'll say my pleasure! It was pretty jarring to see all my failures after the first attempt. I'm glad to have saved you all the trouble
With the failed attempts, now you know how to make nasty looking jars for old abandoned buildings! They look perfect for that! The ones that worked look easy to do, and they look real. They're pretty cool. Like everything else you do!
I've used the Elmer's glue and food color method on decorative mason jars. To make the stain more permanent and to get rid of streaks, I put them in the oven at 250 degress F for 20-30 minutes.
Great ideas. Thank you for sharing “Not to use” I love the dark blue and sea green glass. I can’t believe you can use food coloring! 😂 Thank you my dear. 💐
As a kid in art class we painted on some jars to get some paint to stick we use Aquanet hair spray to coat the glass , let it dry then we used thick Acrylic paint on them brushed on quickly. Perhaps that might help also? I love you video and I am a new sub.:) You have great ideas and talent!
This was such a technique rich video and I LOVED IT! So many great results! Even the brown glass jar in your first batch of failed attempts would look like a really cool old bottle that washed up on the shore in some scene. This also confirmed my belief that Mod Podge, Diamond Glaze and Triple thick are all magic!! Thank you for sharing these experiments❤

Been waiting on this tutorial (worth the wait)! TY. Life would be a lot easier if they just brought back the orig. transparent Glass Stains from the 90's & Treasure Coat ( a mega shine clear coat)❗
A suggestion for brighter more saturated colors, but still translucent would be alcohol inks ( from a good brand) like Ranger Ink. They have a huge range of colors that you can buy separately or in sets. Theirs also has a binder in it that makes it pretty permitted when dried !!
They sound great. I don't have any alcohol inks, but I'm open to buying them. They're pretty expensive though so this video is a good substitute for expensive craft materials
Beautiful results and thanks for sharing the processes! I plan to fill a dresser (I think you call it a hutch in the USA) with assorted blue and green bottles for my dining room and have been wondering what to use - now I know! Much appreciated ❤❤❤

This was a great video! Thanks for showing us the good and the bad😂 Your tiny jars turned out beautifully! And I’m so impressed that you were able to turn them into ball jars!
This was so interesting! Each mix creates a unique effect. The first day’s bottles with the neon green looked like they were under a black light. And I was surprised how good the plain food dyes looked- but I wonder how long it will last. Did you top it with diamond glaze too? Cuz in that case it’s perfect
Oh my gosh this is great I'm going to try this in a little while thanks so much for sharing these tips, until now I haven't been successful coloring glass. Quick question, where did you find the mini mason jars? Have a great day! 🙂✌🌻
These really came out nicely in the end. The diamond glaze really gives that glassy look. I love that you experimented with all the different mediums to achieve the final results. It was very educational. Thank you so much for sharing. I'll have to try this with my food coloring as well.❤🥰
@queencityminis I make Christmas gift tags and ornaments using free images from The Graphics Fairy. Once you've put the image on card stock, punch small hole in the top, cover with a nice layer of Triple Thick. The image turns rock hard and very sturdy. I make bookmarks, inserts for pockets in junk journals. Earrings, you name it!
I also loved it, it was great for polymer clay, dull resin pieces and loads of stuff. Gutted that my tub is half full, but gone so gloopy Its unusable. 😢
