I loved this chapter so much. 🤣❤
I love the series and I believe it'll be Yor the first one to find the truth about Loid as most people are expecting loid to find her secret first since he's the spy.
This chapter is definitely a homage to "Detective Conan/Case Close", because that murderer as "shadow figure". Funnily enough, it will take at least 3 issues for conan to solve a case like this, for Anya, she only have to read mind for few second and know who's the murderer.
Also, I hope this is just a beginning of the big story arc that's center around Anya's mysterious past, because they are not home yet. But next chapter arrives on Feb 18, a month away. So let's wait.
Okay cool, I thought the shadow was familiar lol. 😝 I agree, I’m really looking forward to a proper Anya backstory.
My one major criticism of this chapter is that there wasn’t more... it was cut short. The ending was rushed and the mystery-you know, the fun part-of a murder mystery was glossed over. I get that Anya can read minds, but they still needed to catch the bad guy and prove his guilt. They did in the end, but I would have rather been shown than told…
The three week break and several other things could have been factors as to why the ending of this chapter was so rushed, but at that point, wouldn’t it have been better for Endo to save this story idea for another time then? The Forgers thrusted into a murder mystery is such a GOLDEN idea, and it feels like that idea was wasted on a one-off chapter. It could have at least been 1 more chapter longer to flesh out the details of the criminal’s capture. Hell, This could have been it’s own entire arc if Endo had saved this idea for later.
The chapter was good and the idea behind it was GREAT. But I the fact that it was place between arcs as opposed to being an arc in itself really wasted the potential of such an intriguing storyline imo…
Oh well. At least the Loid/Yor moments were cute, and it’s now established that Anya has learned how to tell time! Chichi and Haha must be very proud~~
I have to say that I agree with you on this. 🧐 This chapter could have been an entire arc in itself, but with his break it makes sense.
I REALLY hope we start the next arc in February lol. 🤞🏾
I feel the same way about exploring Anya's backstory or something relevant. It's high time Endo sensei to do some plot development like Anya's backstory or Yor-loid dynamic or revealing some secrets or just Anya asking for a sibling and messing them up lol.
I read somewhere that Endo said it's going to be a long series and by that it should be 200+ chapters and don't want it to be 150 something chapters of fillers and wrapping up everything in 20-30 chapters.
I agree, that would be awful pacing. 😖😖 I just hope it’s not one piece long. Of course, I have no issues with that series but Spy x Family being that long would be insane. 😵💫

The chapter review was really good and enjoyable. Anya’s backstory would be nice that will include the classical literature and the mind-reading.

Great chapter, and a great and funny mystery spoof/parody!! And making the names of everyone outside the immediate family have a gag name is a nice touch.😂 IF the chapter ever gets animated, hopefully they'll expand the mystery spoof part. Maybe show "Loid" use his spy skills to find clues and evidence (by going into "spy mode"), only to get distracted by his family, yet still accidentally stumble on to said clues part due to said skills and part due to Anya and Bond. Meanwhile, having Anya, who ofc already knows who did it, go into "catch-the-bad-guy mode" without giving a thought to needing evidence, and messing up.🤣 And maybe put Bond in the role (for once) of being the one trying to get them both back on track with this case. (I'll explain my idea of mystery's resolution in another post.)
Anya: (thinking after being told she should stop chasing after dangerous people) "But both of *YOU* ARE *DANGEROUS PEOPLE* (and you're both fun - mostly)!!!"

I find it extra funny since Anya notes both "Loid's" and Yor's hypocrisy and her part in bring together this family of dangerous characters, and yet, due to her age, can't grasp why neither of them (nor Bond for that matter) sees the "fun and excitement" being in danger can bring (in her mind ofc). The readers and audience of the series know Anya's dangerous parents (and "dangerous" dog) would rather protect her from the other dangerous characters; we know they wouldn't just take her to them on a whim just because she thinks it would be fun.
Well, I guess the next arc starts next chapter, and I still think Endo may have something big coming on the 100 chapter!!! (fingers crossed)🤞

Anyone notice how upper middle class Loid is? His cover is a doctor so I guess that makes sense but it kinda is striking how lavish their lifestyle is. He can pay for vacations into the mountains, can afford a 3 bedroom appartment in a good neighborhood, can spoil his "wife" and "daughter" regularly, and to top it off he isn't above greasing some sticky wheels whenever they appear. Dude couldn't be more obvious if he tried. It is a wonder the only counter intelligence that has keyed onto him is his own "brother in law".
Well, you have to keep in mind that WISE covers most of the family expenses. But assuming Loid actually gets paid as a doctor - the combined income with Yor is reasonable for a trip. 😊

If Detective Conan and Anya team-up the show will be so boring. She can do the mind reading and the case are solved or in Conan world "Case Closed" hehehehe!
