My husband knew me for three days and then proposed! We always joke that he didnt even know my last name! We're into our 47th anniversary, through ups and downs, serious health issues but we function together, we might be old but being in each others presence is our normal day. Our daily chores in garden, the cooking, the walks, the warmth and togetherness when we look after our three grandchildren, the birthdays and the festivities. I always say that I dont have a shadow, my husband stands in its place! I hope we can hold onto this for many more years.
I love this. My marriage has been a serious roller coaster. He is a Vietnam vet, and we met only 5 days after he came home. We married 8 months later. He is an alcoholic, years sober now. But although sometimes I still think we should have divorced, I know how strong my comittment is. Married 53 years, 3 adult children, 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. I am here for the long haul. And the Lord has blessed me over and over.
my parents, married 54 years when my father got sick one day, told me he had terrible flu, and died 2 days later of widespread cancer he never knew he had. My mother died less than a year later. I miss them every day.
While there must have been problems to overcome in these marriages it was such a welcome relief to listen to only the good and loving side, particularly when other sites about Hollywood marriages seem to delight in focusing on only the bad side of these relationships.🙏🏼
My husband and I met in 7th grade 6 years later we were married. One month after High school. We always tried to match our colors and still do. Still in love. There was no one else.
My husband and I will be celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary this November 2022. It has not been easy for us, his parents stayed married, but it was very difficult. My parents were married 10 times, so I had very little support growing up. We have four children, and we raised a foster son, who is very successful with NASCAR, and now truck racing, the big ones. He designs their paint jobs, and does a lot of other stuff too. Since we didnt know what we were doing, I give God all of the credit. We have both remained in Church all of these years, and I am so grateful. Our bio children are doing well, too. Altogether we have 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
My husband and I has been married 47 yrs. We were high school sweet hearts so we really have been together 51 yrs all together. He had ask me 3 times and I had to turn him down. We did take a couple of months off but then we knew after the 2 months he asked 1 more time then I said yes. Marriage is hard work but we knew it would be we were 19 when finally married and have a wonderful family.
At my mom and dad’s 50th anniversary they renewed their vows in a big church wedding they weren’t able to have the first time. My dad got choked up with emotion as he said the vows. ❤️
The couples that make it work in Hollywood and everywhere else last because the couples are committed to each other and they love, like, trust and respect each other and stick by each other in both good times and bad times.
Its fascinating to see how these couples have evolved over the years! Their journeys together are truly inspiring, and its nice to see love lasting through the ups and downs.
Aww, I love how pure these couples are, and my heart melted when Jamie Lee thanked Christopher, along with their daughters, in her Oscar acceptance speech.
My parents were married over 54 years before Mum’s death in 2009 and while it wasn’t always sunshine and roses, they did always love each other. The night they met, Mum woke her parents up and said that she had met the man she was going to marry and she did. Daddy died over 7 1/2 years later and never even looked at another woman. I love them to this day and still miss them terribly. My husband and I got married a little later in life, yet, we are only a few years away from 30 years married. I love him more today than the day we got married.
So pleasant to hear these stories about these stars life in love instead of the usual garbage we get to hear about. Very enjoyable to watch this story. These are the love and values of a bygone era. I feel sad that so man younger people will not experience this type of marriage.
Secrets to a long, fun, exceptionally hard yet royal marriage is a mixture of all above in this video. Making a choice to stay “no matter what”….being faithful to your spouse. But the highest reward of a marriage is the couples relationship to God being top priority. Going 46 yrs strong !
I was married 48 years to my husband till his passing 6years ago. I dated him for 2 years. I met him through my brother he had just got back from Vietnam and asked my brother if he had any sisters my brother of course said yes 6 but only 2 can date. He would ask me out and I would avoid him for several months till I gave in the rest was history!!
I won’t chose any single one of these marriages as a favorite. I’m impressed with all of them. All marriages are difficult and require effort, compromise, discipline and understanding. A marriage lived out in the lime light and cruel scrutiny of Hollywood must be even more difficult so I admire and congratulate all of these couples for their accomplishment. I can only assume they have the most important requirement for any long term relationship…They just Love and respect each other!
Good job! Remember: Andy Garcia and Marivi Lorido Garcia (42 years), Mark Ruffalo and Sunrise Coigney (24 years). Pierce Brosnan and Keely Shaye Smith (23 years). Thanks.
After 56 years with the love of my life, I have found that the later years of a long marriage are very happy and blessed. We have so many shared memories and still laugh a lot, which I think is one of the secrets of a good relationship. Our children are grown and we adore our grandchildren, another delightful part of life. Marriage is not easy, but I think on our fast moving world, couples sometimes give up too easily. Divorce is terrible for children and causes long term harm. Obviously, I am not including relationships where there is physical abuse of either them or their mother.
I have always thought the key to a long marriage is a commitment, acceptance, laughter and grace. I admire so many couples who go through highs, lows, twists, turns, and still find ways to wake up and love their spouse again in the morning. Their commitment is the true love story.
Catherine Zeta is still gorgeous. I loved her in many movies but really loved her as Velma in Chicago. Her dancing was incredible. She’s a trained dancer and she blew it away. Plus she was funny.
Before marriage we made a promise not to part and will be married for 43 years in September. When our son asked if we ever would ever get a divorce, we we said no that we had made a promise to stay together. The promise has has been peace giving.
Tommy and Shelby Chong have lasted over 5o years and have 3 kids and many grandkids. Still happy and healthy together. Tommy had 2 daughters from previous relationships, Rae Dawn and Robbi Chong and they have been a happy blended family all along. Love and humor are a great combination. Lots of happiness and talent in that family.
I’ve struggled heavily connecting with, relating to and communicating with men my age. Relationships never work out and when it has it’s been short lived or extremely difficult. Then I met a man at a bar who I thought was only 10 years older than me, turns out he’s 19 years older than me and I never had such great conversation with a man in my life. I don’t know where it will go, but I know I feel happy, safe and excited for the future.
My husband and I have been married 52yrs get through the ups and downs. Sometimes we couldnt even stand each other but be strong 💪. We love each other so much ❤ 💓 Hes my hero ❤ ♥.
Alan Alda and his wife celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary last month. In another seven months, they will have been married for two thirds of a century.
I’m not cut out for marriage, but my grandparents were married for 60 years…my grandfather was teased because he was a year-and-a-half younger than she was…kind of a big deal in the 1930s. Since it was during the Great Depression, all he could afford was a sliver of a white-gold band with tiny striations along the side. After my grandmother died unexpectedly four days before her 80th birthday, my grandfather gave me her wedding ring, which is my most treasured possession. I’m not sure who to leave it to when I die
Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft - a lovely couple! Im not sure when exactly they married, but they stayed together until her death and he never remarried. As for me? Thirty-six years and going strong! Our secret? Laughter and the promise never to say or do anything to intentionally hurt the other... and honesty, regardless of how hard it is.
Good to see these long lasting relationships in an industry that is so hedonistic. Really wishing the right info was added about the ones who are no longer here and some that are no longer together sadly.
I love this. My marriage has been a serious roller coaster. He is a Vietnam vet, and we met only 5 days after he came home. We married 8 months later. He is an alcoholic, years sober now. A real pleasure watching this video, so good to watch something positive and not the 5 minute relationships that seem to dissolve in tatters in Hollywood now.
I love the video. It reminds me of the Cohen song “Dance me to the end of love. It’s been 35 years for me and my wonderful loving and supportive husband.
I not only made those old buddies in our families and church keep counting on those fingers for 37 months before I told anyone I was pregnant but on Valentines day this year we celebrated our 53rd anniversary. Still together still happy not a single regret.
My husband died from cancer at age 51. We were married 24 years. It would have been 40 years this year. I try not to be too envious when I hear of happy couples who are getting extra decades.
I was only dating my husband for two weeks when he proposed and I said yes! We married the following year and our own Best Man and quite a few family members said our marriage would only last about six months. Ha, ha to the lot of them for we’ll have been married 44 years this May!!! We’re just happy as ever too!!! 😁
Im no celebrity, but my wife and I have been married for 25 years and still going strong 🥳. weve had our ups & downs but if you truly love each other, youll try to make it last.
Gotta love the way Tom Hanks says that he and Rita Wilson were “just friend” while he was still married to his first wife. Sure you were Tom, sure you were.
Married in 1970, and lost him in 2021. Its really hard to be the one who is left behind when youve been together that long. I still get up to go see how hes doing before I remember that hes been gone for over a year.
Married 26 years, together for 36 years total! My husband had a full blown psychotic break! Took a year, but I got him back. People actually said, “I can’t believe your staying with him.” What the hell??????? After all this time, you think I’m gonna leave him?! Scariest hardest time of my life! But he’s the love of my life, I’m never leaving him. He saved my life when we were younger! You just don’t throw someone away because they lost their mind for a year. He’s coming back! I’m the luckiest girl, because he has overcome so much already!! If you truly love someone, you fight together to overcome all of this.
It isn”t important that Goldie and Kurt haven”t the paper, but they have been living together for so many years and still love each otcher - it is important❗️
Cannot imagine this type of level of commitment re: romantic/marriage situations. I admire it, it astonishes me. It astonishes me because I know I cant f**king do it.
Well loved them all but I keep checking ON Dolly ‘s 😊😊! I even heard a New song now from American got talent!” You can have it Jolin” IF you know what I mean😅😅😅!Ths for sharing your video!
My husband and I are 15 years apart-37 & 52. Our birthdays are 1 day apart-2/12 & 2/13. Happily been together going on 7 years. Honestly, age has absolutely nothing to do with a relationship… It’s about marrying your best friend and compatibility. Very simple, winning formula.💞
I love watching Sharon and ozzy’s relationship. I especially like to watch how they interact with each other on their show ‘the osbornes want to believe.
My husband was 25 years my senior and We were together for 30 years before he passed. If something like age matters to you, you may be passing up your greatest gift.
Peter Gallagher has been married 40 years, not 44. Denzel Washington has been married 40 years, not 30. Andy Garcia has been married 41 years, not 31. Christopher Walken has been married 54 years, not 50. Alfre has been married 40 years, not 37.
My husband and I got married in 1970. I was17 and he was20 and I the navy. I lived in a Navy town. We dated for 7 months and he proposed. We got married inMay as he was supposed to be shipped out right away and no we didn’t Ave a bay on the way but he got to stay home for awhile and by the time he returned he was a dad. We he was sipped out again I was prefabs again and he returned home to a baby girl. He then decided t not re-enlist. T was too hard on my own so much. We are still together ad live in that Navy town with 5 grand children the oldest of Wichita is getting married in two months. It’s been a beautiful marriage with so many laughs and lots of tears most happy I love him more today than ever. ❤
I realize many of these couples are still that but many are now widower or widowed... I certainly have seen long-lived marriages apart from Hollywood & know it takes committing oneself to working to keep it. The absence of that spouse after so many years.... Wow... They do show it is possible to not have revolving door relationships & not give up if one or 2 are frogs! Sam & Kate are one of my faves.
My parents have been married for 77 years. 99 and 100 yrs old.
OMG!!!! CONGRATULATIONS 🎊 🎉 💖 👏 💐 🥳
That is fantastic. Congratulations to them!!
Bless their hearts!!! Hope my hubby and I can make that Only 20 .more years to go

How refreshing. This day and age it’s so beautiful to hear about these celebrities that actually has values.
Love and commitment to stay faithful together is a decision! Not an emotion!

Nice to hear of couples still together and care enough to work through difficult times. That must be difficult within celebrity circles.

Thank you
