Thanks for this video, I didn't have access to any of the tools you used, but as it was the cheapest and easiest part to replace to fix my C7 A6 A/C issue, I rolled the dice and swapped out the pressure sensor. It worked like a charm!
Just needed confirmation on ease of removal and installation of pressure valve. All diagnosis equipment is wonderful if you are a shop but wing nuts like I just need to be sure there are no other trip ups in the removal and install. Thanks for showing it all.
Great vid. I recently had a Matrix with a system like that. Compressor has no clutch. Runs all the time. The solenoid valve turns the thing on hydraulically and away we go. Nice to c the PWM signal to the compressor from ECM or Hvac, whichever. I think ECM. Really interesting was sensor in the hiside tube was communicating with info packets. So it’s a little module. Our cars today have so many of these little modules that were gonna have to name them like kids. I think that Audi has about 25 kids. The fix on the Matrix was a reman compressor. The drive in the front had gone “hasta la vista”. Remember the old Westerns where the good guy had two six guns holstered and ready? That’s Mario with his scope, scan tool and red beeping gizmo.
Appreciate the videos, good stuff, I never thought I could trouble shoot my canbus and all with my electronics oscilloscope.. those were clean waveforms .. 🍻
The Power Probe IV is a good start but the scope is still king. Nice call on the sensor and I appreciate the explanation of your approach. I lived in Daytona Beach for 12 years but I had to get out of the constant heat. :)
wyattoneable thank you for your comment and view! I'm glad you liked the explanation, i feared i might've been too redundant. Not a day goes by where i don't think about leaving this heat! 🤣 thanks again for dropping by!
Thanks again for a super helpful and technical video. You have such a deep understanding of these modern car electrics, it is hugely impressive. Thanks for sharing Mario.
Wow, even individual sensors communicate on the bus. I wish there was a way to recognize bus signals that come from the component you're interested in. As it is, the scope sees all the chatter.
We're quite a long ways away from automotive manufacturers handing over any proprietary information in which we could decode the waveform. Some have gone as far as to power certain modules, isolated from the bus, and noting the identifier, to then locate them later in a decoded bus waveform. Some have successfully pinpointed which node is talking by bidirectionally commanding a function from a particular module. I've done neither of these since it's a bit above my head 😆 Would love to see the day when manufacturers do release this information. Chris Groff from science of diagnostics was the only guy that I saw that was able to make a successful diagnosis due to serial decoding. I've also heard of cases where decoding is useful to find a babbling module with a dominant level message, causing all of the recessive level messages to go unheeded, thus "crashing" the network. Thanks for watching!
Great stuff Mario. I never figured out how to diagnose those a/c system. Never found good information. I tried to simulate it with my sensor simulator but no luck. This was great help & great information. Thank Mario for helping us and showing the normal data.
I own one of these and this made me feel like it could be straight forward dealing with upcoming issues! Thanks Bro, btw about to start binge watching your videos!
Gracias Mario. I am having a similar issue with my 2008 Audi a6 Avant and everything points to the pressure switch. A dear friend of mine who is a fantastic mechanic hooked the gauges to both high and low pressure and there is plenty of Freon. Too bad I don't have a vag com.
SUBSTANTIAL Super Mario Diagnostics Brilliant 🎶 🎵 👌 Great tutorial Good video thank you very much for sharing with us. Super Mario Diagnostics From Nick Ayivor from London England UK 🇬🇧
Great video .. So there was LIN communication between sensor & control unit, which was correct, but sensor was bad ... The pressure regulator gets pwm from control unit..
Andrew K actually there is no clutch. The variable displacement compressor is rotating along with the engine, and the PWM signal controls the pressure of the compressor, depending on the request. This is why you will not hear the operation of a clutch in these systems. I do apologize if i said clutch. There is no clutch, i said clutch in the video but i did correct myself, sorry about that
Hey mario, have a question... I had The high side pressure temperature sensor trouble code... I also had error on my Scan Tool... I replaced the sensor and the trouble codes never came back.. thx god, But the Ac Compressor did not come on.. I went to basic settings and I cleared them.. is it possible that I could’ve messed up by doing that?? Thx for the video. I’m stuck ........
Is 55*F vent temp normal for a 100 degree day in FL? I'm used to seeing mid to low 40s in Texas. The reason I'm asking is I'm working on a 2010 focus that will not get below about 55 vent temp. Pressures look ok for 100*F ambient. 230 ish on the high side, and about 40 on the low. It came in with a dead compressor and a leaking evaporator core. We sold the whole kit with expansion valve and dryer, as well as the leaking evaporator. Afterwards, pressures look ok, but inadequate cooling. Any ideas? Any related experience with this vintage focus? Thanks Mario. Great videos
To have the exact spec one would have to look at the performance test the is in service info, following their instructions. Also if you didn't change the condenser also, it may bite ya, if internal compressor damage took place. Those pressures are not bad, and that vent output temp isn't bad either, there's much more humidity down here that the evaporator has to overcome.
@@SuperMarioDiagnostics it was 52% humidity when I checked it after the repair, and 100*. We got the condenser in a kit from 1-800 radiator, but they didn't sell it. I checked all the service info I could find on all data. It was all generic and not much help. 55 degree vent temp here is pretty bad, but the humidity has-been high. I do a lot of AC work and never see vent temps that hot after a repair. I would suspect a junk compressor, but with normal head pressures, it's hard to say that's the cause
Liked and Subscribed! Awesome video. Is the sensor in this case sensing the low side, or the high side? After repair it was reading 127psi. I am a home gamer, and I've been fighting with no AC on my 2008 A6. The most I was able to fill low side to, was about 63psi on manifold gauge. I was unable to get compressor to cycle on while filling. The only error I got through VCDS scanning was refrigerant pressure too high. I was able to get compressor to cycle on by previously applying compressed air to center port on manifold. It was about 30-50 psi higher than the low side. I was also able to get compressor to cycle on using a duty cycle test in VCDS. The off code for compressor was 1. (Refrigeration pressure too high). I'd clear this code, and try again, until I gave up and decided to research more. Seems difficult just to get information. Do I need to get a module tool to cycle compressor on, just to fill system, or test compressors ability to function, without car interfering? Sry long post.
Hi Mario, I have the same A6 in India, I have issues with AC. Sometimes ac compressor is not getting engaged. We changed pressure sensor switch and now error shows that it's faulty humidity sensor. Another static message is "Function limitation due to missing error message" Fault code uc111100. My mechanic says to change the compressor, is that the solution? Please advise
Hi! My ac compressor is not getting any power. Blows hot air , they are saying my electric system Modular needs to be replaced panel d . Is this accurate?
I have an audi A5 3.0tdi 09 plate withan aircon issue. Its been in and out of garages who are unsure what it is or too scared of the work it may involve. Everything mechanically has been checked and or replaced (a tool was connected to the commpressor sending the correct signal through and it worked peefectly blowing ice cold air out) the only fault code is "implausible signal AC" "00898". The pressure sensor hss been checked and replaced, commpressor replaced, ac head unit replaced. Any other ideas what could be wrong with it?
Great stuff! I'm still wondering why bar is used in any industry since it's not a si unit of measure. Like how is 14.7 psi to 1 bar useful. Lol looking forward to your next video! 👍
billie smith thank you for your support! I guess it depends. It's like a language, i can see why they use it, but it's not native to me lol. Thanks for watching! Glad it was useful to ya!
Super Mario Diagnostics well bar was a made up unit or measure used in weather where they broke it into millibar for atmospheric reasons I don't understand but why it's been used across various industries is still unknown. Little bit of useless info there. Lol

Thank you Mario! Great job on that Diagnosis. I need to get me that scope!
Awesome vid dude, Im working on the same issue with my A4
Another great video, Mario! I got kinda nervous when you called the condenser so soon. Glad it all worked out in the end, tho!
Excellent video with the explanation of the scope data...
Mario eres la verdura del caldo wey muy buen diagnostico gracias por el video
Well explained bud. Keep at it you're quite good so stick with it.
Thanks Steve for stopping by and commenting 😁
clean and efficient. YOU ARE THEE MAN. Thanks bro.

That was a beautiful diagnosis
Yo this help a lot have 2 car with similar issues where not cooling at all system have pressure but won’t cool Audi an vw
the autel is a fantastic scanner. much better than snap on in my opinion.
phil holbrook can't say I've used the snap on, but I've seen it in action. But the autel is my go to scanner for sure

Great video man thanks, having the same issue with 13 3.0T. Going to swap that out and see if that’s it.
Did the sensor fix your issue?
I did not know the power to the clutch was PWM. Is that to control compressor speed irrelevant of engine speed? Thanks for sharing.

Because am having the same problem with my 2013 Audi a4

Hey, there. I own a 2014 Audi A6. I have a code. Which is B11AF07. Don’t know where the fresh air door motor is located at. Any info on that?
great job.thanks
Thank you!
Great vid buddy 👍
I hate going off topic but I have this car and an as yet unsolved problem.
If the car is in D and from a brake pedal stop is allowed to
1- creep forward at all without pressing accelerator
Or
2- sit without the accelerator being pressed for a time span of maybe 1.5 secs
When you press the gas the transmission slips like it’s ruined- won’t move vehicle- high revs etc.
However if you move your foot immediately from holding brake to accelerator the car takes off without any slip every time.
Is this some faulty rollback function or hold on hill or creep control software problem? Has anyone heard of this 2013 a6?
where did you get your test leads for your scope? i ordered the same scope and the ones they come with are garbage. the distance between the positive side and negative isnt long enough to make it useful. good work mario
phil holbrook i actually got them here
Heavy Duty Auto Test Lead (BNC to Banana Adapter Cable) rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F220820592975
Great leads, make sure you tighten them at the tips, with a tiny flathead lol
Thanks Phil!
Hey bro thanks for the video!! I have a 2014 Audi A6 that I need to change that same sensor and I read that I would have to take off the front number to reach the sensor, how true is that? Am I able to just open good and reach it a bit more simple than taking off the bumper?
Should be easy access without removing bumper, i didn't have to
Also no need to evacuate the system, just remove sensor and replace
Thank you
Can you please give the exact name and a link for this sensor, I need this replacement as well
That’s the link to the same part I ordered
Which scope should u choose between autel and ur scope? Thank u
melih nalbant as you can see I've made my choice. For the price it cannot be beat IMHO
I'm learning from you, thanks
Thanks for watching!
Hey brother, thanks for the information. But I have an issue, hoping you could help me out. So I have an Audi just like the one here I went to change the sensor and realized the valve core was leaking air. Could that maybe Be an issue and trigger the sensor and if so would Could I change it out or is there a certain way to do it?
You'd have to empty the system before changing it, but doing so will not cause an issue once the sensor is mounted on top of it
Thanks a lot, greatly appreciate it!
Btw, do you have any videos showing how to empty out the system?
No i don't. You need an a/c recovery and refill machine to do that according to the law
I have problems the ac compressor does not activate the 2 connector cables have ground
Great audio! 😄
Debbie L getting better one video at a time :)
U111300 Function Limitation Due To Received Malfunction Value

I have the same issue on my A5, I replaced the sensor yet I don't have possitive pulse to the compressor any suggestions?
Same exact code?
00457 Control Module for network (j519) and Giver for refrigerant presure/ temperature (G395)
Are my current codes
I checked all wires and new presure sensor and still nothing
Like this video thanks .
Are you located in weston?
Ft. Lauderdale
Can u save wave forms on that scope?
You sure can bud, also reference waveforms to compare on the spot
True gotta look into getting one. Also wanna get the autel 906bt
I've had it for a day, it's pretty good 👍
Nice good sir my name mi macnic a.c from india
That's a rapid diagnostic
