    Love it! And this was a welcome break at 11:25 CST pm - I’m not quilting so sad 😞 I’m actually hemming a formal dress with lots & LOTS of chiffon for a sweet girl who is in the Homecoming Parade tomorrow. Yes sometime tomorrow I will be quilting again.

    I LOVE IT!!! Looks like your day was much more productive than mine Jenny! I got up extra early this morning to sew the last row on a quilt that I just couldn’t keep my eyes open to finish last night. I was so excited when I got to the end of the row…until I noticed after finishing that about an inch in, my thread had run dry! So I put a new spool of thread on and started AGAIN! This time when I got to the end, I found I had not done that last crucial step to thread the needle on my self threading machine! I was so mad at myself I was ready to throw the whole thing out the window, I couldn’t even walk back into my sewing room until tonight about 9:00pm when I THREADED THE STINKIN NEEDLE and finally finished the quilt top! It was relaxing to watch this tutorial and see someone be successful at their quilting today! Thanks🥰

      Been there and done that, too! I’ve started using the “three strikes” rule. If I make 3 mistakes in an hour, I quit and come back another day. Sometimes I just can’t seem to give my sewing the concentration it needs. My needle threader on my machine quit working (and I love that feature), and it took me over a month to remember that it didn’t thread, so I would merrily stitch a row, only to find that it was still in two pieces!

    • @Str8eeth
      @Str8eeth 3 года назад +1

      Linda….I’m thinking that your “THREE STRIKES” is a great idea! I wanted to blame something or someone else, but I had to take full responsibility on that one. Now I just have to take it to someone and get it quilted! OUCH

    So, I am back to being intrigued with the tutorials here again... the past ones, haven't caught my eye at all...but this one? I would actually make this with my one and only precious Jelly Roll that I have been saving for a rainy day... at $60 plus here in Canada, they are quite pricey! I really like this quilt!

    • @oobiedoobiedoo1290
      @oobiedoobiedoo1290 3 года назад

      Same 😃 I have 1 jelly roll and am using it making this. Jelly rolls are so expensive here in the uk so I have 1 that I got for my birthday.

    • @marlahanks7278
      @marlahanks7278 3 года назад

      Wow! $60 +??? Because of shipping costs? That's so sad if that is the case :(

    • @HRHDMKYT
      @HRHDMKYT 3 года назад +1

      @@marlahanks7278 Not really: Jelly rolls cost $60+ in quilt shops here. I think it's a combination of the buying power of the Canadian dollar (not very high outside of Canada), and the high taxes which small businesses (& everyone else) must pay here. If quilt shops want to make a profit, they have to charge those kinds of prices. That's why if you can get a 'Daily Deal' at MSQC, even with the exchange rate it's actually much less expensive to buy online even with the shipping charges. I myself am always torn between supporting local businesses and getting affordable fabric!

      I just bought almost $200 worth of fabrics/tools so I can make this quilt. It's the "easy" way to go with pre-cuts! The fabrics used in this video were unavailable, but I picked out two jelly rolls that will go great, plus sashing jelly roll. I'll send a photo when I finish . . . it might take awhile though. I'm a slower quilt-maker. :)

    So I’m guessing that the prints coordinate within each “4-part-block” because of how you made your 2 strip sets in the very beginning…how many squares do you get from each strip set?

    • @HRHDMKYT
      @HRHDMKYT 3 года назад

      By my calculations, you'd get 6 layered squares from each strip set tube (6.5"x6 =39" and a regular jelly roll strip has anywhere from 40" to 43" of usable fabric once you remove the selvage edges).
