Thanks for the great reviews! I was wondering if you could give me your opinion on which projector might be better for mixed gaming/movie usage: this TK800M or TH685. 4K or 8ms input lag and 120hz refresh rate?
If I was gonna use both projectors for gaming and home cinema or just purely for gaming I would go with the TH685. If I was only going to be using it for home cinema then I would get the TK800M. I find not having a solid input lag and 120Hz a lot more annoying when playing video games vs not having 4k or as vibrant colors when watching a movie. And 40ms input lag is quite annoying for gaming and definitely noticeable no matter what you play. I'm using the TH685 rn for gaming and media consumption and it's really great for both. TL;DR Get the TK800M only if you know you're not gonna be gaming on it.

@@ChrisMajestic I appreciate the quick response. I was leaning towards the UHD60 for awhile now, but the tech world had to confuse things by introducing more projectors in the market. Thanks for your reviews. I spent the last few months building my theater room. I have my Atmos 7.2 system and my last piece of the puzzle is the projector. Great reviews! I just subscribed.
I just installed a TK800M and a 150 inch silver ticket screen in our movie room, I also bought a ps4 pro for the 4k content. This thing looks phenomenal and I have no complaints. I did have to mount it quite far from the 150 inch screen because of the throw ratio, like 17 or 18 feet away lol but it works perfectly. Even 1080p spectrum cable box content looks super sharp, very close to the true 4k content.
@@jhiopsfjhsi I just checked my Amazon order history, I bought the 150 inch white material screen. Its fairly easy to build, just go nice and slow and follow the directions. You'll need a lot of space to build it and again, because the TK800M has no digital zoom feature like a lot of other projectors, you have to have it mounted fairly far away from the screen. I have mine ceiling mounted about 17 feet away. The picture quality is phenomenal, I moved up from a 100 inch 1080p benq projector which felt "cool" to this 150 inch with the TK800M. And oh boy it feels like you are actually in a movie theater. You will be blown away when you watch anything on it. The projector does have HDR capability, and I ended up using an expensive (about $120 I think) fiber optic hdmi cable to transfer the 4k HDR signal. The other ones weren't long enough or high grade enough to work with 4k HDR over the distance I have the projector mounted. But yeah no complaints with this screen at all
@@jhiopsfjhsi a word of advice, keep the huge cardboard tube that comes with the screen if you buy it. Just in cause you have to disassemble and transport the screen one day, the tube will help a lot in keeping the vinyl material safe. I threw my tube away and had to use long yard bags to transport the screen once it was rolled up lol
I just found one of these for sale locally for $750 new in box. I was going to go with the 3550 but this a heck of a deal. I have a dedicated theater room but it’s mostly white. The front wall is matte black behind my screen but everything else is white. Could I benefit from the extra lumens or should I hold out till the 3550 price drops? Is the color really that off on the tk800m? Thanks for any help.
Hi seen most of your videos, so what projector do you recommend for a 175” screen in a dark room. My budget is up to 3k. would like a 4k projector. Pixel shift is fine. Most reviews are for screens of 120”. Thanks.
Thanks for the review! I was wondering if you had ever been curious about the Aaxa 4k1 projector. Its a 4k pico sized projector with 1,500 lumens that is rated for 30,000 hours of use. I have one and I really enjoy it for gaming and watching films. Plus its the cheapest 4k projector I have seen on Amazon. Its loud and has some other draw backs, but I love it for the image clarity, portability, gaming performance, and price. Plus you never have to change a bulb.

Valcor I understand that this projector is not going to compete against expensive projectors (Like Sony or other high quality projectors), but this projector uses the same technology as the viewsonic and the optoma projectors that were reviewed on this channel. The Aaxa 4k1 projector launched at a price point of 1,200, which is far from cheap. The company is not “off brand” either. Aaxa is a company that operates in the U.S. and helped start the pico projector market. The company is smaller than companies like epson, but they make products that work well and last for a long time.
Currently using this projector with a Sony STR DN1080 receiver, HDMI cable is a 50 ft iBirdie brand from amazon . With 4K on and HDMI setting To “Enhanced” my signal from both PS4 and XBOX one X display will for for about 10 seconds and the projector will no longer display the image. Is this an HDMI cable issue or a projector issue?

I heard about the Benq tk850 so checked out Benqs official website, there is no mention of it being able to play 3d? Trust me I tried. It wouldnt detect the 3d signal from my nvidia shield. And when I forced it, it was all out of sync and garbled as if it couldn't decode the hdmi signal.
I don't know if you did this already, but it would be great if you could review the W1700M/HT2550M/W1720, which just as the TK800 vs TK800M, is the newest version of the BENQ HT2550, but was only released outside USA.

hello thank you for thee review i still have a question regarding how to connect the videoprojector using wifi, do i use a dongle and i this case what type of dongle should i use ?
I have the ht2050a and I love it. But I would leave it for a 4K projector with the same specs as the ht2050a including low latency, horizontal and vertical keystone and lens shift. I hope that Benq makes one like that soon.
Seen the input lag numbers on tk850 though? One reviewer says around 80 and that's not good. Hopefully he can get better numbers with maybe setting adjusted. No auto Iris or dynamic brightness.
Currently play Xbox one x and ps4 on an optoma 142 @107 size screen and I dont really have any complaints but it's not 4k. I want to upgrade to a 4k projector and I'm not sure what's the best for low input lag (call of duty, overwatch, battlefield). BenQ tk800m, optoma uhd50, BenQ ht35504k?
Hi..my main issue with Benq tk800m is that I wouldn't like the picture in eco mode n will run in normal mode so the bulb changing every year will b a hassle n huge cost..also which bulb out of the many choices is another issue..I'm sure 4000 hrs dsnt mean 4000 for 100%.it may go down to 80% way before tht Wouldn't a nebula cosmos max b better ?
Great thinking about getting this projector but it's my first one.I have a question how do you get audio from projector to sound bar don't laugh it my first one thanks?
Your best bet would be to use a soundbar that hdmi ports and connect your devices to the soundbar then connect the hdmi output to the projector. Check out my How To Connect A Soundbar video
Nice review. Thank you for the information sir. Out of curiosity, what game were you playing in this video? I could not for the life of me figure out what it was.
Okay and with your experience with the optoma does the bulb or lamp last because I read some reviews of them people were saying that they did not hold up to the expected time, but I would trust your judgment more.
@@mechanicalpants it gives you the flexibility of moving the lense of the projector up or down, left to right ( if it can do both ) within the projector, and thus eliminating the need for keystoning...it's fantastic for mounting flexibility...😉👍
The TK850 is around the corner. I feel the Epson 3200/3900 is in the same class. I was going back and forth and went with a 3200 and it is gorgeous and has low input lag. The 850 has promise as well and I would have gotten that if BenQ had stuck to their schedule.
Interesting. I haven't read about the quality control issues. In terms of bang for the buck, the 3200 has everything I wanted, which was brightness, 3D, 4K, low input lag, lens shift. The only thing it lacked was P3 support, but it hits 100% of 709. The brightness is great on it in a dedicated theater room with no light. I use to not want to keep my door open in theater room since my XGIMI H1 had low brightness. But it's fine with the 3200. The only thing I wish it had was focus and lens shift with the remote. You'd need to go up to the 5050 for that, but those things are crazy big.

Please help! Need to make a choice this week! I heard the Epson colors had become better but I have no faith in Epson as a brand and always had terrible after sales service with them, with products frequently breaking quite easily. I'd like to have the projector for a long time, so longevity / reliability is important to me Been using an ancient Optoma HD20 but it has a 0.67 chip vs the 0.47 chip available these days and worked for several years (still working, just the lamp is dying) which shows great reliability but on closer inspection, it looks like Optoma has started using cheaper parts in their hardware to keep up with competition? Not sure Anyway any advice on which projector to go for based on my setup above would be super super appreciated! Thanks :)
I was waiting to see if the 800m would go on sale this month and if it wasn't I was going to buy a 800 for 400.00 less. Now I'm not sure if I should bite the bullet and buy the 800m regardless if it's on sale or not. Hmmm
I have this projector. It is pretty dope. don't use it for PC gaming though. The tearing is almost unbearable on a gtx 1070 (cant stand Vsync). Xbox One X though is really great, especially when playing games like the Outerworlds.
It’s still an awesome projector in 2021-2022. I need more zoom though, max size in my small bedroom is 82” down from my first setup of 92”. I’ve had this since summer of 2019, playing the Xbox One X, and now gaming on it with the Xbox Series X. Amazing projector even two years later! I’ll probably put the TK800M in the living room, and run the newer top of the line BenQ 4K projector in my bedroom. Really solid for gaming, I play a lot of Halo, Forza, and Battlefield with low input lag.
Been using this projector for 8 months and I swear it has never let me down. You will love it!
Your comment made me purchase the projector haha waiting for it to arrive next august :P
hi, does it display the red tones correctly? My viewsonic show reds in kind a like orange tone. Very disapointing.
I am still deliberating if I should buy it or what? After using this for a while, any regrets? Will you still recommend it?

Seen the input lag numbers on tk850 though? One reviewer says around 80 and that's not good. Hopefully he can get better numbers with maybe setting adjusted. No auto Iris or dynamic brightness.
@@hisxbr150 waiting on specs from BenQ
@@hisxbr150 the tk800m was 40-50ms and the ht3550 is 50-60ms
Thank you for the nice review. I must check it out if this beamer also is on sale in Europe
great content, even better information.
Hi,thanks. How do I connect an hdmi projector to my old NAD T781 receiver. It doesn’t have hdmi
Hi nice review sir plz share projecter screen model
Currently play Xbox one x and ps4 on an optoma 142 @107 size screen and I dont really have any complaints but it's not 4k. I want to upgrade to a 4k projector and I'm not sure what's the best for low input lag (call of duty, overwatch, battlefield). BenQ tk800m, optoma uhd50, BenQ ht35504k?
How dose it compare to the tk700 ?
Hi..my main issue with Benq tk800m is that I wouldn't like the picture in
eco mode n will run in normal mode so the bulb changing every year will b a hassle n huge cost..also which bulb out of the many choices is another issue..I'm sure 4000 hrs dsnt mean 4000 for 100%.it may go down to 80% way before tht
Wouldn't a nebula cosmos max b better ?
Great thinking about getting this projector but it's my first one.I have a question how do you get audio from projector to sound bar don't laugh it my first one thanks?
Your best bet would be to use a soundbar that hdmi ports and connect your devices to the soundbar then connect the hdmi output to the projector. Check out my How To Connect A Soundbar video
Is this good for a 200 inch screen?
How do u use 3D I got the tk800 and I got DLP glasses but the 3D isn’t working
Nice review. Thank you for the information sir.
Out of curiosity, what game were you playing in this video? I could not for the life of me figure out what it was.
It was a random game I streamed from Nvidia Geforce Now. I dont remember the name. lol
@@ChrisMajestic copy that. Thanks for the info. Have a happy new year; hope it's productive and profitable.
@@uhlspetznaz Spec ops the line.
Doest it have an ARC channel ? I want to connect a soundbar
Sir can you make one video about Benqtk850 vs epson 3800.which one is good.
Brought this one last week and amazing with vivid mode at economy light. Superb picture and gaming with affordable price. Good job Benq.
Is it good for 3d movies?

Hey Majestech what would be the top short throw projector in the 500 to 800 dollar range.
Optoma GT1080HDR
Okay and with your experience with the optoma does the bulb or lamp last because I read some reviews of them people were saying that they did not hold up to the expected time, but I would trust your judgment more.
Great video bro. Thank you.
Nice! you haven't done one of these in a while.
Would you say this looks better that the vava?
lens shift is a must have in my opinion. Great review Bro
What is lense shift?
Tk850 is getting lens shift. While it's only 10% it is still there
@@mechanicalpants it gives you the flexibility of moving the lense of the projector up or down, left to right ( if it can do both ) within the projector, and thus eliminating the need for keystoning...it's fantastic for mounting flexibility...😉👍
@@bryanp4827 thanks for youre reply
So this is still a line below the HT3550 then, correct?
Yes
Can I play 4k hdr movies from a external hard drive?
Does this projector have a upward throw? Can i sit on on the self or does it need a downward tilt to hit the screen
Yes it can be projected from a low table. If you want to project from up high you would flip it upside down and ceiling mount it
@@ChrisMajestic thanks!
Unable to decide between the BenQ TK800M / W1720 / Epson TW7000 / Optoma UHD 35 in the range of + - 1000 euros for a living room with some amount of ambient light (darker with blackout curtains), projection of distance from lens to screen of 331 cms on a white wall of 250 cms width.
Please help! Need to make a choice this week!
I heard the Epson colors had become better but I have no faith in Epson as a brand and always had terrible after sales service with them, with products frequently breaking quite easily. I'd like to have the projector for a long time, so longevity / reliability is important to me
Been using an ancient Optoma HD20 but it has a 0.67 chip vs the 0.47 chip available these days and worked for several years (still working, just the lamp is dying) which shows great reliability but on closer inspection, it looks like Optoma has started using cheaper parts in their hardware to keep up with competition? Not sure
Anyway any advice on which projector to go for based on my setup above would be super super appreciated! Thanks :)
and what did you buy ??
I am the exact same as you
In my country only these three available
Which one did you take?
Great review
Hola , una pregunta cual es el mejor BenQ TK3550 o TK800M ?
Los colores son mejores en el 3550
How about the sound ? Could you please add that to your reviews as well ? Thanks
I normally do but the speakers in their projectors hasn't changed. They all sound the same. Good for casual TV. Not that great for movies.
@@ChrisMajestic thanks for your response ..how about the fan noise ? Would you rate viewsonic/ optima a better option to BenQ?
Chris Majestic Is this Bluetooth enabled for speakers? Or can I hook up external speakers?
I was waiting to see if the 800m would go on sale this month and if it wasn't I was going to buy a 800 for 400.00 less. Now I'm not sure if I should bite the bullet and buy the 800m regardless if it's on sale or not. Hmmm
I'm new to projectors not sure what to look for its going in basement. Can anyone help.
All these DLP projectors.....I would love your input on something like an Epson 5050.
They're coming
in my own opinion, nothing can really beat BenQ projectors as much as nothing can beat BenQ monitors.
Hey dude, what about noise?
It's about average. Not as loud as some others I've tested.
This or the Optoma UHD50? Thanks Chris!
I'd say UHD50 because of the better color accuracy and price.
Majestechs thanks! It’s actually cheaper now on Amazon for $999 :)
Brother, I need a short answer: w2700 or tk800m?
will the tk800m be as good as the benq ht2550 for dark rooms movies
No. The ht2550 and ht3550 are better suited for a dark room
Waiting for TK850
Is it me.. or do you like the Ravens.. it seems that you show their game in the background...
Anyone knows warranty for refurbished Benq from their website?
how does this compare to the optoma uhd52alv
What is the screen size
I have this projector. It is pretty dope. don't use it for PC gaming though. The tearing is almost unbearable on a gtx 1070 (cant stand Vsync). Xbox One X though is really great, especially when playing games like the Outerworlds.
Robin would you recommend for call of duty players with the input lag and all
Still a perfect projector
It’s still an awesome projector in 2021-2022. I need more zoom though, max size in my small bedroom is 82” down from my first setup of 92”. I’ve had this since summer of 2019, playing the Xbox One X, and now gaming on it with the Xbox Series X. Amazing projector even two years later! I’ll probably put the TK800M in the living room, and run the newer top of the line BenQ 4K projector in my bedroom. Really solid for gaming, I play a lot of Halo, Forza, and Battlefield with low input lag.
What do you recommend? LG OLED Evo G1 65 inch Smart TV or a 4K 100-150 inch projector? (For the same amount)
Can you do viewsonic x10-4k?
Way too expensive. I subscribed you. Please keep making home theater videos.
