This is the kind of guy I want as police.
Definitely. There should be more like him. I hope other police officers take note, and try to aspire to be like him
Just Men in general we desperately need more Men like this.
@@sydney.g.sloangammagee8181yeah it’s the media tends to only show stories about officers doing something bad. Of course there are times it looks like the cop is bad but if they had all the facts they’d see they weren’t. There ARE bad cops. For sure! The media makes it out to be a lot more than is factual.
This is the kind of guy you want as a neighbor 😊
@@sydney.g.sloangammagee8181I agree--my friends who are sheriffs and cops are great men
12 days and unable to contact anyone and no one checking up on her - why? So many people with no one - bless this officer for being kind and compassionate.
Her phone broke. Someone called in a welfare check.
She’s not alone. Stop making things up in your head.
❤️🍀
@@canileaveitblank1476 Making up what in their heads? Yes, she was alone, hence nobody caring enough to check in with her until she makes a "help" sign and hangs it in her window! What part of TWELVE DAYS, that NOBODY in her circle of friends or family checked in with her? No excuse for this, zero, zip, nada, none! You KNOW your mother, aunt, cousin, friend is deathly ill and NOBODY checks in with her for TWELVE days! No excuse other than pure, unadulterated, self centerdness!
They can't contact her if phone not working
@@Sara-dq3ob Well, you'd think that someone would go to check on her if they were unable to reach her by phone. People are so self centered.
This is what happened when this country became more mobile. Used to be families lived their entire lives in close proximity to one another. Not so much anymore. It’s sad, but it’s true.
12days?😮and her family didn't bother to check on her? This lady needs someone at her house.
She needs another family. She should adopt the officier.😊
You don’t know the situation. The daughter may live 1000 miles away. Maybe she also has had recent surgery and isn’t in the best health. The word “daughter” doesn’t automatically mean young, healthy and vibrant. Many elderly people have elderly children and many health issues have a genetic component.

True...My grandmother had my mom young & both were up n age mom turning 70(this year)my grandmother was 85(passed last year).I tell young ppl u don't want 2 have babies 2 young simply bcuz y'all grow old 2gether. luckily my mom had me & my sister(she stays far)2 help our mom with our grandmother until she transitioned. Glad this woman got some1 watching out 4 her👍🏾
Exactly!!!
1000 moles or 10. When family couldn't reach her, what's wrong with requesting welfare check from police!! No excuse for this !!!
Kudos to a true, honorable Public Servant!
Ah. Yes. A cop that understands what his job truly is. Public SERVICE. Nice to see.
She should get a life alert.
Life Alert Costa money 💰
If she couldn’t afford a phone, in all probability a life alert would be out of her budget.
Family, friends, and neighbours used to look after each other ❤
My friend just checked on getting life alert and they want way to much for the service and a 2 or 3 year contract and she's on a fixed income so of course she couldn't get it. But I always make sure we talk every day to make sure she's doing ok because she doesn't have any family so my family is her family now. That's what this poor lady's family should have done especially knowing she was very ill. What kind of people wouldn't check on their family member that's just awful and very sad.
They can be expensive.
12 days and no family checked on her ?
Exactly
Her phone didn't work. Maybe they were out of town and didn't know anyone who could check on her. Maybe they tried and couldn't reach her. Someone called a welfare check in, but they had the address wrong. Could have been a relative. Can't assume.
@@erinnorwood6124 Cant make excuses.
What family?
@@MC22Scottin the video they mentioned her calling her daughter to let her know she was ok
We all agree. This is how police should act. To “Serve and Protect”
Indeed. Rarely how they do act. Too much attention either way.
No, that's how most of them DO act. You just don't hear about it because it's not juicy news.
@@emilywagner6354 it’s definitely NOT. Hey if ya support the way modern police do their job”work” that’s your free choice but cops, bureaucrats and other government workers are NOT the “finest” .
Feel free to be wrong if you choose.
@@emilywagner6354 you’re telling me that the best that society has to offer goes into policing? I don’t have a criminal record and I’ve had plenty of interaction with police, and most of it was tyrannical.
A true hero.
This guy is a true Christian. I’m so glad there are people like him in the world.
Nothing to do with Christianity. Everything to do with being kind. Some people can be kind without needing to be threatened - because they're just naturally nice people.
He's a true Human, and a true Cop. This is what it means to protect and serve. This is what alot of law enforcement agencies and officers are forgetting or ignoring, and that's why we have the very often seen minority of officers who abuse their powers. There are thousands of LEOs like this man, they just go unnoticed except by those of us who need them and appreciate them most.
How do you know that there aren't already more people like him in the world? The news is manipulating you into believing that there aren't already people like him. This incident just happened to make it on the news because they looked at the police dispatch log (public record) because it was a slow news day and decided to report this but in a negative way to throw fear out there.
@@joane.3533 Way to completely rewrite what OP said and assume it was something else. "I'm glad there are people like that in the world (iirc)" is NOT the same as "I wish more people were like that". Yet here we are. You lecturing over the latter when OP literally wrote the former as a way for saying thank you to the people who ARE like that!
@@joane.3533Everybody I know would be like this person and do the same thing, it's in most people to just help other people out. Unfortunately, you mostly only hear about how successful or evil a person is.
Also, this woman needs to be connected to home care. Where is here case manager?
SERIOUSLY- this is what I came to say
Care givers are very hard to get in rural areas right now.
why would anyone want to take care of others who Stole their careers. kids to grans.
her family. also on wicked weather days when most cannot get out but safety type crews, it is great they keep an eye out for things like this. In 1980s in boston mass, two nor'easters came through in a row, shut down everything for over a week, the first one and the one right behind it another over a week, People were out walking around checking on everyone/each other, And the elderly then were the ones prepared, ask them if they needed food they ended up giving out food and toiletries. WE ended up digging down to peoples cars...
@@tommas2674what the heck!
Poor thing! I can’t imagine being in her position! I’m so glad she got the help she needed!
Thank you Deputy! You are amazing.
Bless the officer's heart for helping this poor lady.
That officer is the embodiment of “To protect and serve”
Bless you for being vigilant.
This man is a blessing to the world. He didn't turn a blind eye to someone in need, but instead went above and beyond to help!
What a wonderful gift you gave. Thank you.
Wow this guy is Amazing! Please give him a raise:)
Officer you will be blessed for all you did for that woman What a kind caring young man you are Your mama is proud of young know She brought you up right❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
No one should ever have to be so alone and ignored....even by neighbours. Glad this officer was there to help her.
Now THIS is what Police Officers were like, back when I was a kid!!! ... A true Hero!!
Well done officer! Respect!
Bless him. When I was in my early 20s and lived in California, my cousin and I were going home from the movie. We ran out of gas, it was late and dark and a little scary for two young females. As we were walking to a gas station that was about a mile away, a policeman pulled up and asked what we were up to. We told him and asked if he could give us a ride to the gas station. He said he couldn't and drove off. I always thought that was so strange. He didn't even follow us or anything to make sure we were all right. I am really glad when i see these kinds of actions.
Can't pick you up.
1) if you are in the patrol car, the officer gets a call, shots are fired, you might get hit by stray bullets.
2) officers have been attacked by men and women who said they needed a ride. That goes way back several decades.
3) if you are in the patrol car, the officer gets a call and has to arrest someone, there is no room in the patrol car for all of you, especially if the person or persons arrested get violent.
@deborahaumiller7391 .....that may be true, now... ..but not back then. I've seen it , and that is part of " To Serve and Protect " .
wow what a story but that patrolman couldn't call for backup, help. @@deborahaumiller7391

Geez, poor lady! Hes an angel. ❤❤
Goes to show you that the bad ones are actually few and far between. Kudos officer!
Deputy Shah is a kind soul😊
What an amazing leo. Nice to see there’s are still plenty of kind hearted ones out there still!

What a wonderful man! Please reward him, Sheriff!
Amen deputy Shaw! Thank you for your service.
A true Christian!
What a great man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😊
I’m not a religious person, however, this is an example of a human being helping another human being that was in need. The World needs more people like this man.
Poor lady, I hope things improve for her
What an angel he is. Thank you for saving this poor woman. She could have died without his help. No one cared enough to just go over there and check on her and he did above and beyond what was expected in a welfare check.
Outstanding service to the local community. Very well done, Deputy Shah.
It’s important for people to have landlines! For safety and emergencies.
Great point!! I have a land line and it has a portable handset. Many homes don't have them anymore, having only cellphones as the main way for communication. ⭐⭐
I can't imagine the plight of this woman. Thank you Deputy Shaw for not only doing your job, but going above and beyond!
Way to go officer. True public servant !
How sad hervown family hadn't checked on her. Bless this Deputy for his service!
Some people drive others away
aw that’s nice of him
You are an absolute ANGEL, Sir! Your family must be very proud of you. 👍👍👍
My day & week have been lifted watching & listening to this report.
Well done Sheriff Shah!
You are a light in a world of darkness...

What a kindness from this deputy! More people should be like him. Hoping!
Great officer
Hopefully her family sets up a regular check in schedule so this doesn't happen again. With her health problems someone should be touching base with her every couple of days or so.
Love Love Love this story!
This is the wonderful example of what law officers should be! Bravo to him.

Great job sir. We need to quit yelling at each other and get along, it's so much better
Outstanding and well done Utah Deputy Shaw, salute....

Words fail to describe a man as great as this one is. The department should be proud to have him on the force.
True hero, hope he gets rewarded for going beyond his duty.
May him and his loved ones be blessed always
He will only get punished by his superiors.

To protect AND SERVE. Great job to this deputy, they are so underpaid and under appreciated. Bless this man forever! ❤
Thanks for your service. Hero
It’s really sad that over 12 days, no one checked on her. I used to chk on my mom every single day!
It wd be so easy for this lady to have fallen and gotten hurt. If they called her everyday, they wd hv realized something was wrong when she didn’t answer the phone. ☎️
She didn’t have a phone.

What a wonderful officer. Kindness 101! Thank you sir for your service.
The deputy is a Warrior. It's wonderful to see this on the news.
Definitely a man who takes his oath seriously. This is the kind of officer that we need and he should get an accommodation for going the extra mile. He is an inspiration to the people who know him and those of us who hear his story.
Wonderful young man. This world needs more like him and less of the ones getting so much attention for their bad behavior
Thank you sir. I hope her family remembers this.
Amen officer ❤ thank you sir 😊
A deputy and a gentleman. Bless you, sir.
This is the kind of police we need! Bless him
I appreciate this officer's actions to help this lady during a rough spot in her life. May his reward be 10 fold. ❤
So much for your children taking care of you in your old age.
Deputy Shah's actions that day brought great distinction to his department. He is a credit to his unit, and brings trust, honesty, and hope to his community. He is a man worthy to wear that uniform, and a shining example of what is best in law enforcement.

Great job Officer for doing your job. And going the extra mile of service 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Props Deputy Shah!!
My poor dad had to do this once when alone in the days before mobile phones and I live 100 miles away. Somebody saw it and called an ambulance. I was very grateful to them. Dad had bad flu.
Thank you for your wonderful heart!!
I think there are a lot more officers and lay people like this. We just don’t hear about them as much as the bad ppl. Thanks for posting.❤

This kind of situation happens far too often where the elderly are ignored. I'm glad that this officer took action.
Wow! This is so helpful, but also so sad that she was in such extreme circumstances!
