We saw him twice once in Buffalo and Las Vegas in 1962 and was the most polished performance we ever had seen. My husband was crazy for him right away. We have the book Dream lovers and the Collections The audiobook. Thanks Todd. I have such a great picture of your mother Sandra in the Town Casino in Buffalo
Talented, very classy, very sweet & considerate...they don't make them like that anymore...he & Sandra Dee were the sweetest couple & produced a very kind & beautiful child Dodd who wrote a wonderful book on his parents....they both are shinning down on him....
I'm very glad that my father (an African American) told me about Bobby Darin & his talents a long tine ago when I was a kid growing up. He used to tell me that "BOBBY DARIN", "NEIL SEDAKA", "PAUL ANKA" & "FRANKIE VALLI & THE FOUR SEASONS" were "VERY, VERY TALENTED"!! He also went on to say that "PAT BOONE", "FABIAN" & "FRANKIE AVALON" were just "CUTE WHITE BOYS WITH NO TALENT"!! He told me that there's a "BIG DIFFERENCE" between "CUTE" & "TALENTED"!! He wasn't lying!!
This is a great tribute and shows off Bobby Darin's talents so well - capped by his impressions routine as the finale. As a side note, the (then) monopoly of radio stations operated by the government-owned New Zealand Broadcasting Service banned Splish Splash from airplay because it suggested nude bathing parties. While you could buy the record, we didn't know of it as a hit.
'Bobby D. recorded many of the Great Jazz Standards & Kicked-Tail on each one like Jimmy Van Heusen & Sammy Cahn's "Everybody Has The Right to be Wrong" at least Once...
I LOVE WATCHING MY FAVORITES BOBBY DARIN AND SANDRA DEE. I WAS LUCKY TO MEET THEIR SON DODD WHILE I WAS WORKING AT TOYOTA DLRSHIP IN T.OAKS. BEST OF ALL HE IS A DOWN TO EARTH PERSON AND HE GAVE ME 2 WONDERFULL PRESENTS OF HIS DAD'S CD'S AND HIS MOM'S MOVIES WHICH I NEVRR GET TIRED OF WATCHING THEM N LISTENING TO THE SONGS OF HIS DAD. THEY WERE. MY GENERATION. THANK YOU DODD SO MUCH. I WAS THE CASHIER FOR TO TOYOTA BUT RETIRED ALREADY. I JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THEM. TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS YOU N YOUR FAMILY. MARYANN ETZEL
I remember very well the moment I heard Splish Splash for the first time in a radio-special about his carrier , somewhere in 1961. Until then I knew him only from his Big Band songs like Mack the Knife and Beyond the Sea. I could'nt believe this was the same singer !!!
I only found out that he did a rap song about a year ago. My least favorite music but I had to listen to it. "Me and Mr. Horner"... I've listened to it a few times. This was way before the current popularity of rap.
I love his dance moves! He had a great voice too. He was a legend. It’s such a damn shame he died so young. His songs are ICONIC. My favorites are Dreamlover and Splish Splash.
And he was married to sandra dee the actress from the movie called imitation of life but she used to put him down about his appearance and he also have a half brother that thinks about him and I listen to one of his songs and I love it so much right now in my life we love you bobby
I think Bobby Darin, would be proud that the episode he appeared on " Wagon Train" " The John Gillman story " is available on RUclips. It's great acting, a touching story and a must watch .....So if your a Bobby Darin fan, what are you waiting for.......
Me encanta todo sobre este buen cantante, sobretodo que estubo casado con la hermosa $Andra y hasta tubieron un hijo, igualito a El pero muy alto, que pena que se murió tan joven 😓😓❤️😘

i don't know what it was when he died, i was only 17 and his death hit me so hard, i guess it was because that was probably the first death of a celebrity that i knew of, he was so talented,,, rest in peace bobby you have been missed
I never liked him back then. And I was so disappointed when my idol Sandra Dee married him. He just wasn’t cute enough for her. But now that I’m old and smarter I understand the attraction.
WHEN I WAS A LITTLE GIRL 👧 BACK IN THE 1960S I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT BOBBY DARIN WAS REALLY CUTE WHEN HE SMILES!HE WAS A NATURAL BORN HAM ON THE TV 📺 SHOWS!
I witnessed Frank Sinatra paying tribute to Bobby D in Glasgow in 1991, as he launched into Mack the Knife. It was july and it actually snowed during the gig. Ah Glasgow.
His talent was absolutely not wasted; he shared it with everyone, and we can still enjoy it today. He lived every minute to the fullest, and I hope one day to meet him in Heaven.

I just loved him. So multi talented.
He was very handsome too, and he was always looking sharp with a suit and tie. It’s so sad he died so young, he was only 37!
Though I was born in 2000 but I love old musics and culture, particularly 60's
Rj Galambeo. "White" is a fading paradise. Enjoy it.

Yo can bet your bottom dollar, Michael Buble, studied Bobby Darin. Mr Darin was one great performer with a great voice. shame he died so young
you are so right. There are more than a few singers that sing the praises of Mr. Darin. He set an example. He really was exciting at every show.
His voice was smoooth & Silk
'Bobby D. was Buble's greatest influence as Buble mentions Very early on in his career
Just love all Bobby D’s songs😂

Dead nearly 50 years and nobody has come close to his genius
I would really love to hear and see Michael Buble cover all his songs! He would do justice to them.
I was just about to respond to his post saying Buble rips him off because almost nobody remembers Darin.

Hard not to feel his own genius during Mac the knife writing.
That Sandra Dee was one lucky lady. ❤️❤️
Handy footwork.
And an entertaining Impersonator. I didn't know these things. Loved life shines.
thank you for this!
Over many years I've heard Frank Sinatra Sammy Davis and Neil Sedaka say he was THE MAN and who am I to argue?
Elvis used to sneak into his concerts as he knew Bobby had talent.
1:30 how I wish I'd been one of those young women, ough!
Am so jealous to dance with Bobby...life does not get better!
🥰
