My father passed in Spring of 2023. Every Christmas all he wanted was peanut butter cookies. Since I was old enough to bake I made them every year. This year was the first year I didn’t make them. I bought the ingredients and thought I’d make some in his memory but had a total grief meltdown. Still this video made me smile and gave me tears. These look amazing.
Sorry for your loss. My sister’s memorial anniversary is in a couple days and my siblings and I always get together and make her favorite snacks. This year is French 75s and Frittata. Hang in there… the first few years were store bought snacks bc e just couldn’t cook without going to pieces. Be gentle with yourself and do what feels right. Maybe make the cookies on a random day when they pop into your mind. Less pressure than a memorial or holiday and will still make you smile 😊 sending love your way 🤗🩷
Tip: when making the pattern on top, regularly coat your fork in more granulated sugar, usually keep a small dish of it nearby while prepping. Gives the cookies a light dusting on the top and prevents it sticking in the dough as much, which helps keep the shape.
I have a great recipe for peanut butter cookies that I’ve made for years. My grandchildren love them. And they love helping me make them. Especially making that little criss cross pattern that is a must for peanut butter cookies. They happen to be my favorite cookie so we double the batch. Bc you know Grandma always has to send them home with cookies of their very own.
@shanedottie all Natural peanut butter only has peanuts. The regular has hydrogenated vegetable oil which is awful for you. The jar at the store is fine...just get the Natural type.
Keep them in a ball, bake them the same way, when they are fresh out of the oven put a Hershey’s kiss on top and press. Now you have a peanut butter blossom!
Oh I love making peanut butter cookies. ❤ as a kid this cookie was my first attempt at baking. Haha they were terrible 😂 I learned fast from then on baking and cooking. It's my love language 💓
I’m learning to cook independently as a 22 yr old and this channel is one of the 2 which are making it lovely for me. Btw this recipe is so simple I’m prob gonna try it 😍
My new go-to recipe!! 🙏👍🏻❤ I haven't been able to find the Pillsbury roll of Peanut butter cookie dough since COVID & they are my favorite cookie next only to Oatmeal Raisin 😋
1 cup (258g) peanut butter 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar 1/2 tsp vanilla extract or 1 tsp vanilla paste 1 egg 1. cream the peanut butter and sugar together 2. add vanilla and egg into the peanut butter mixture and mix until the ingredients are incorporated 3. scoop cookie dough and roll into a ball before placing it on baking tray ~2 inches apart 4. flatten cookie dough balls on the baking tray with a fork 5. bake at 350F (176C) for 9-10 mins
This is how I make my peanut butter cookies but I be using already made peanut butter and I use vanilla extract but everything else is the same. They're quick, easy and taste great.
He mentioned salt, I think for making homemade peanut butter. Also said you could roast the peanuts for more flavor. SO, I'm guessing he made his butter with raw unsalted unroasted peanuts. No idea how much salt he uses. I don't have a food processor so I'll be using store bought. @@rosebayer114
This peanut butter content is amazing! "Stralia", a new peanut butter brand, caught my eye with their focus on choco and natural flavor. Would love to see them featured in a future video!
I hate peanut butter but would absolutely try yours Your charisma and the passion you put into making food makes me 100% believe I'd love anything you cooked
My dad likes these chocolate chip Levain style cookies I make from a recipe (took a while to find it, it’s by Serious Eats. The recipe is the most specific recipe I’ve ever seen, even down to butter temperature and grams). It’s painful to make because I’m so particular, but it’s his favorite cookie so I just have to make them. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him love a cookie so much. I don’t even like chocolate chip cookies! But for anyone who is looking to try a cookie who likes chocolate, I recommend it.
Why do you say that question mark i'm asking because I didn't like mine either. The shape or the taste? Mine was both. They didn't stick together. And I did not like the taste.
Add some cinnamon and a pinch of salt to the mix, if you want to go the extra mile after making the pattern add some cinnamon sugar on top. Not only does the house get that amazing baking smell but it makes it feel more christmassy

@@donnabacon4681 Yep! Thats how my grandma showed me :)
Great point!♡
I'm surprised that there was no flour in this recipe. Does that make it a gulten free cookie?
Adding like half a cup of flour and a tsp or 2 of baking powder makes these infinitely better
I think you’re the only cook on RUclips that consistently makes good looking food
Something so pleasant about your voice, great video!
These were my grandpa's favorite since he couldn't have flour. Still a family favorite, especially with some chocolate chips!
Made them. Super tasty. Thanks king🫡
