    Forgot to ask as well for the amount of torque for the axle shaft nut .. lower ball joint and lug nuts were mentioned but not that. Thank you 🙂

    I did passenger side w/o removing lower controls arm by removing hub assembly from strut. Little less problematic IMO. My problem is driver side. No room to get in there and bang on it with a hammer. Upper cv joint broke so I have nothing to pull on.

      I have the same issue with 2018 Promaster City van. Was that your issue and how did you determine which side? What was cost to replace it?

    This goes for a 2015 Jeep Compass 4wd cvt right? Or are the axles different? Cause I’m getting mixed parts. Lol

      CVT is probably different. The 2014 - 2017 are all Hyundai 6speed automatic 6f24 transmissions on the Pats.

    Thank you for this video as it will be extremely helpful as I need to do the same axle shaft replacement on my 2014 Patriot Sport 4wd w/6sp auto trans. I noticed the transmission type and fwd/4wd wasn't specified in the video and that seems to be important as I'm finding at least two different styles available. One like in the video where it's a female end going over a spline shaft from the drive assembly and another that is the reverse. Would sincerely appreciate some input to make it easier to order the correct shaft assembly instead of guessing and getting it wrong. Thank you 🙂

    Man that went in easier than I am having. did you use the axle itself to tap in?

    • @fixingcarsandstuff
      @fixingcarsandstuff  2 года назад +2

      yes, try to line up the axle as straight as possible. Sometimes I use a rubber/plastic mallet to tap it in on the end.

    What’s the size of the axle nut? Did I catch 180 ftlb for that?

    • @topfloorstudio2684
      @topfloorstudio2684 3 года назад

      Yes 180 ft lbs and it's a 32mm metric or 1 1/4" standard spindle nut.

    • @robthompson2908
      @robthompson2908 2 года назад

      Sorry to disagree a little but I listened very closely a few times and the 180ft/lbs was for the lower ball joint and 92ft/lbs for lug nuts .. the torque for the axle shaft nut wasn't specified.
