The QUICK ROLL hand ascender by CT has a built-in pulley. Why would you want this? This makes it the perfect ascender for a Rapid Ascent and Descent (RADS) climbing system. A quick loop of rope through the pulley and the climber can generate mechanical advantage, to help advance more easily. Returning from a limb walk, pulling tools into the canopy - there are lots of places where having an ascender with pully could come in handy in the tree.
