I was out wheeling today, and the kit actually deflated my tires from 30 to 20 psi by the time I was done disconnecting my sway bar links. I’m not sure why it took longer when I made this video.
I have these in the Boulder Tools brand. It takes a little over 5 minutes to air down to my set pressure. But if you drill the relief hole with a 5/64 drill bit it will cut that air down time to less than 3 minutes.
@aaclar I can’t insert pictures here in the comment section, but in the video, at the 2:15 mark, you can see the small hole in the side that can get drilled with the 5/64 drill bit mentioned above. I hope that helped.
Thank you very much. I got this exact set and couldn't figure out how to set the initial one. Fantastic! Easier way to keep the adjustment from moving is to run a bead of clear chaulk just under the adjustment screw ;)
Once I had them adjusted to my desired PSI, I put some of my wife's red nail polish on the threads, works good to keep them locked and is removable with nail polish remover.
Nice video, but 16 min is long time IMHO. I used the ARB deflator, I also went to 10 pounds without Beadlocks. Recently bought beadlocks and added monster valves, not cheap but omg 12 seconds from 28 to 8lbs. Keep up great videos
Whoa! 12 seconds?! That’s super fast. Incidentally I was wheeling today and it didn’t take me as long as the video suggests. I must have done something wrong. Today I started the airing down with the kit and by the time I disconnected the sway bar links, my tires were deflated from 30 to 20 psi, so under 5 minutes. I don’t know where I went wrong timing the process when I made the video. Thank you for the feedback on the videos. Cheers.

Great video, I have two sets of those for airing down. I have one that drops to 20PSI and the other that drops to 12PSI. Depending on what I am doing, I can use either set. Although, they do take a while to air down, so I find I normally go back to my normal one that pulls out the valve.
Hey M JL, Good eye! I believe it's an o-ring that came out of the bottom of the screw on tire deflator. If I recall correctly, at the time of filming, I took it out of the valve and reinserted back it into the bottom of the tire inflator. Cheers
Damn, just getting started with a rig and got these for free as a part of the deal lol. Did not expect 20 min... That however sounds infinitely better than manually holding them down with that knowledge
Hey Dino, funny you put this out I was just getting around to doing that myself with a set I picked up at overland expo in 2019, just found them... I just finished my ARB compressor install so need to test this out. Keep up the great work !!
Hey AloPandur, Thanks for feedback on the video. Sorry that they are already sold out. There are other sellers but I can only vouch for this one because it’s the only one with which I have experience. Who know, they could all be made at the same place for all I know. Cheers.
Hi Dino, I'm looking for a compressor right now and trying to decide on a size. Do you remember how quick the Smittybilt 7181 inflated your tires (bigger than my 255/75 R17) from about 20 to 30 PSI? I want to save as much weight as possible by choosing a smaller compressor but I also don't want to spend 20 minutes or so for inflating the tires.
Hey Gryff, I don't remember the actual time it took to re-inflate my larger tires, but with the larger Smittybilt air compressor, I was VERY satisfied with the speed. It's crazy heavy, but I think you would not be as satisfied if you went for a lesser air compressor. Good luck with your choice. Cheers
@@CheaperJeeperTV Thanks for your answer, Dino! By larger air compressor you mean the Smittybilt 7181 you used in the video? It inflates with 72 litres per minute. If you say that's okay I will go for a model with the same airflow. Thanks again for your patience and help :-)
Yep! That one. I was impressed with the air flow. This one is built well but doesn’t have standard fittings. So if you look for a different brand, you may be able to get one well built but comes with standard fittings. Good luck. Cheers
@@CheaperJeeperTV I am 78 and no longer due any serious off roading on my current 2017 JK Sport. I have had 4 other Jeeps including my first Jeep a CJ-5. Why not just start driving? Why wait? Just pop em on and go!
Try wrapping thread oe electrical tape around your threads once you get your deflators set. It stops the locking nut from moving.
