Thanks so much NDR orchestra for such a wonderful suite of the opera, operetta or musical " Candice " of this genius that is growing and growing every day as a composer, maybe this suite should have started with the "overture ", it is my personal opinion, beautiful orchestration just for complete orchestra. This arrangement was written by Charlie Harmon - Leonard Bernstein's assistant in the early 1980s. Charlie's book (On the road and off the record with Leonard Bernstein) provides great insights in to the life and working habits of LB.

This is a fantastically constructed suite, and this composition could hold its own with Strauss' Rosenkavalier. My only quibble is why the Overture was not included? I added the Overture to my mp3 playlist years back, and it simply gives a sense of completeness and balance to the work. EDIT: I see the Overture was played at this concert and dropped as a separate video. Well done!

Oue was a greatly gifted protege of Bernstein's and co-conducted the 1985 concerts in which LB conducted at Hiroshima and then Vienna, both available on yt.

Wunderschöne und detaillierte Aufführung dieser perfekt komponierten und fein arrangierten Suite mit farbenreichen doch perfekt entsprechenden Tönen aller Instrumente. Der intelligente und geniale japanische Dirigent leitet das ausgezeichnete deutsche Orchester im gut analysierten Tempo und mit angenehmer Dynamik. Faszinierend vom Anfang bis zum Ende!
