It was really nice seeing a full length video, not that I don’t enjoy your shorts. I’m not sure if you’d have any interest doing it but I see a lot of comments using fishing terms I have no idea what they are and learning more of those terms or the tools used would be great. Enjoyable video as always. I also really appreciate you keeping the videos without cussing and that. 👍

@@Tackle2thePeople Tip: hold your rod sideways, if you hold your rod up, then the carp will go the opposite direction, in order to fight you, down. If you hold your rod sideways, the carp will stay on the surface and will try to run away in the other direction, wich in this case would be to the left.

Carp fishing is common in South Africa dams and rivers. I grew up in Klerksdorp and we went fishing a lot close to a old railway bridge we called "Tryn Brug" it was a railway bridge that crosses the "Vaal Rivier" and it was always treat.
My father preferred going to a dam because fishing next to the Vaal River is dangerous but the fish we caught there was on another level. Including Carps, Catfish and even "Moderbekke"

the common carp in my lake are FIESTY. we got three this year all on crank baits. they are the hardest fighting fish pound for pound you can find here. we’ve also tried to shoot some with the bow but they’re pretty elusive. great vid!

Your city has nice fish. They are beautiful and healthy. I would get a few fish and feed the poor people in the area. I know how to cook fish really nice. My grandpa taught me how to fish and cook. I used to go hiking so I can get to great fishing spots. I live in a small town and we are sitting in a salad bowl with mountains on all sides. My grandpa is actually famous for being part of a family that survived the dust bowl there's a movie that was inspired by my grandfather and others who survived the dust bowl it's called grapes of wrath. It was a book as well written by John Steinbeck. It's not very truthful though. People like my grandpa shared the truth and brought the history to the museum. We are proud of our history. My city's museum put together a history display of my family's travels and tools before my grandpa passed away. We donated items. We even had an old Ford car that used a handle to turn the moder on. You literally had to get out and wined up the engine. My grandpa kept it working. I used to take my lunch and eat it while sitting in the car. Every time we went fishing we brought it home and I would go eat it in the car. I have great memories of my grandpa and fishing. 😊

Corn peanut butter and cheese works very well for bait. I used to use peanut butter with small blocks of cheese and the fish came in schools to take bites. Carpe are trash eaters so they love junk food. They have a fatty diet with sugar and corn is very sweet and fatty. You should try peanut butter by rubbing it on the hook see what happens. I think it depends on the area too. I used to fish in the mountains and my favorite fishing spot was Kern river. They have private spots that only a few people know about. Fishing near waterfalls are the best places to catch cod and salmon. They like to travel over the river rapids to mate. I used to bring my rifle for safety because of bears, I used it to warn the bear to stay away and give me space. They don't like loud sounds, it scares them off. I also had a blow horn and duck call. I didn't hunt ducks I liked watching them and taking pictures for sharing with bird watchers.

Trust me. Without some bank sticks a carp will bring your rod in even when the drag is lose. But because carp slow down during cold weather atm they won't pull as hard to drag your rod in. I suggest you buy just some cheap bank sticks(only need one) and possibly a proper bite alarm(so you get the cool bleeping) . These ensure that once the carp warm up they won't drag all your kit in

TEMU sell bait stops at around $1 for 1000, or you could Quick stops, which are about $2 for 50. You tie on instead of a small loop, and you push them through the corn with a baiting needle. Lots better than a normal hair rig.
