A few fun facts about Queen:
    * Guitarist Sir Brian May has a Ph.D. in Astrophysics and built his electric guitar (Red Special) when he was 17 (with his dad).
    * Bassist John Deacon has a degree in electronics. He designed and built the amp that Brian sometimes uses to create unique sounds on Red Special. John was also involved in the band’s financial management.
    * Drummer Roger Taylor has a degree in biology (pre-med). His vocal range is better than most lead singers of other groups.
    * Lead singer Freddie Mercury has a degree in graphic design. It goes without saying that his vocal range was amazing and he was the best front man of any band.
    * All four have written #1 hits, and all are members of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Iconic Band, Iconic song. Everyone has covered this song, it has been popular for over 40 years. The first acapella portion is just Freddie Mercury multi-tracked. After that it is the whole band. Freddie never said what this song means and there are lots of thoughts on the meaning on the internet but Freddie said it wasn't about anything in particular and the meaning was up to the listener. Freddie is the lead singer and frontman of the band, but they are a true quartet, each member contributes equally to the sound, writing, harmonies, arrangements and management of the band. Queen covered every genre, they were never afraid to try something new. Loved your reaction, thank you.

Bohemian Rhapsody is one of the most mysterious songs, Freddie never explained his lyrics and especially not this one. He had 3 unfinished songs, put them together and a masterpiece was born. The band wrote their own stuff in about 15 different genres, from metal to jazz and pop, cca. 200 songs and Freddie the absolutely untrained singer could sing all of them effortless. Pls, stay with us for a long Queen journey.

Freddie Mercury (lead singer) was working on writing three very different songs when he had the genius inspiration to combine them into this epic masterpiece. One of the three was originally going to be called "The Cowboy Song" and is where the mention of a gun and shooting a man comes from. The beautiful harmony at the very beginning of the song is actually just Freddie harmonizing with himself on multiple tracks. Nothing else like it before or since. Not only do they sound amazing, they wrote all of their own songs, did VERY few covers. All of the members have written songs and all but John Deacon, the bass guitar master, sing. The drummer, Roger Taylor, does the most harmonizing and backup singing with Freddie.

Great reaction! I'm subscibing to your channel right now! This is a very complex song not everybody likes or even "gets." It took me many listens to wrap my head around it; I just knew I loved it (I was 17 when it was released). A "rhapsody" is a piece of music with "episodes" -- changes in style, tempo, mood, etc. within one work. Bohemian Rhapsody goes from choral (in the European classical tradition) to rock ballad to hard rock (esp. all Brian May's guitar leads) to opera to hard rock and ending with rock ballad. Their amazing talent plus hundreds of hours of practice and work result in an outstanding piece of music like this. Look forward to more from you. Peace!

Freddie Mercury was a musical genius. (singer/piano/songwriter). He encouraged the band to do an album called A Night At The Opera. Never before had anyone done rock music mixed with opera music. Of course it had to be dramatic. Their record company didn't want to do it, but this song turned out to be an instantaneous sensation and it soared to the top of the charts. It was the kind of music we didn't even know we needed. And I assure you it is a lot of fun to sing with friends drunk or at karaoke. Haha!

1:25 That wasn't "they" that was "he".. That was a mix of Freddy harmonizing TO HIMSELF...
You're correct about the symbolism. This song is about him finding out he was gay. He had a girlfriend and was planning to get married when he "experimented". The "MAN" he killed was the man he used to be. "and now I've gone and thrown it all away", is in reference to his "normal" life.
References to his religious struggle with the situation are also apparent, and in the end he "gives in" to what he is "it doesn't really matter".

I am so happy you loved this!! Queen is a band like no other. My favorite of all time!! I subscribed just so I could see you react to all of their iconic music. You’ll definitely want to check out Somebody To Love live in Montreal in 1981. It is absolutely fantastic! That high falsetto voice you heard is the drummer Roger Taylor who also has a fantastic voice. Can’t wait to see more! Also check out their full set at Live Aid from July 1985. It is considered probably the greatest live performance of all time. I am a HUGE music fan and love music from the 1950s through today. I was lucky enough to be exposed to a lot of different music from the time I was a kid I grew up in the 70s and 80s and there was so much great music from that time frame. If you are interested, I can start recommending some great music to you.

It’s not a popular sound!! It’s iconic, trendsetting, groundbreaking absolutely infamous!!! As is the entire (each and every member of Queen individually) Each member of Queen has on their own been inducted into the Hall of Fame!

Brilliant reaction - can you let us hear your high pitch part again 😂. Two things, listen to Freddie singing ‘Barcelona’ with an amazing opera singer by the name of Monserrat Caballe (don’t let her name out you off!) and second where are the Beatles??? You’ll love them!

Welcome to the Queen fandom! They are all talented people and musicians! A Rhapsody is a musical composition with 3 (usually) parts and this is considered a Rock Opera. Queen has no real genre, just great! Best live concert performance ever- Live Aid 1985-, best live song- “ Someone to Love”Montreal, 1981.

When you kept asking, “What’s going on, what’s going on? My knee jerk response was “welcome to the 70’s”, I used to go to house parties, get stoned ( with everyone else) and everyone would stop to sing this amazing masterpiece. R.I.P. Freddie darling ❤️

Omg, I so enjoyed your reaction to this video. I know every word because I spent a lot of time in the basement with friends smoking a shit ton of weed while playing this song and so many others over and over again. Queen is the shit. Freddie Mecury was one of those rare gems that only comes around once in a lifetime. I'm really glad it was my lifetime. I'm glad you're exploring these old bands. It was just music to us back then. So it's great to see you hearing it for the first time. I'm sure it's already been suggested but you should watch their Wembley stadium concert. Unmatched music and a performance that will never be equaled.

Freddie was writing 3 songs at the time & decided to join them up. Its truly a masterpiece. This song was my introduction to Queen when i was 10yrs old. Freddie was the best singer & showman that ever lifed. He had every audience in the palm of his hand from the first note that came out of his mouth. We lost a genioys the say he died. 😢

This has always been a great song and Queen has long been one of my favorite groups! I LOVE your reaction! Have never witnessed someone hearing this for the first time and I'm stoked that you got such a thrill out of it and are going to listen to more! Try Killer Queen, Fat Bottom Girls, and, their other standout, We Will Rock You. Also, check out the movie, Bohemian Rhapsody, about lead singer, Freddie Mercury's life. Alot of things I didn't know about him were covered in the movie. Very interesting! This was great!
