38:25 I resonate so much with this part of the video! I am literally preaching the gospel of tech right now! I don't care if you like it or not there's $$ in tech! Get in, make your money, then find your dream business/ education/ life!
That's awesome! It's great to see black-owned businesses like Pivot Tech making a positive impact and supporting the community through initiatives like the scholarship program.
Absolutely! "Pivot now or pay later" is a powerful mantra. It's great to hear that this resonates with you and confirms the direction you're taking. Trust your instincts, embrace the pivot, and keep moving forward. You've got this!
I’m a 42y/o Venezuelan, I had my own company back home renting heavy machinery, when the cty went communist I lost it all and had to flee to the usa with 100$ in my pocket, I worked my way up from construction work to be a Global market analyst for a major financial firm, making what I thought was crazy money (it still is for me) 65k a year, lol, I’m the firm I met folks from the eng. team and learn they were making over 170k a year with only boothcamps and that blew my mind, it took me down back to reality that you can’t sleep on your success! He pointed me to your channel and again man wow I feel so small on a professional level. And I thank you for that, I needed to wake up again and push forward and make the jump into tech!! Hell I started as serving coffee for analyst in Morgan Stanley and work my ass up to a sr analyst in 2 years. I know I can make my way into tech with the info you provided. You are doing god work guiding people to a better life. Gracias
Thank you for sharing your inspiring journey! It's incredible to see how you've overcome challenges and achieved success in your career. I'm glad that the information shared on this channel has motivated you to make the jump into the tech industry. Keep pushing forward, and I wish you all the best on your path to a better life.
I felt that not having to code switch part haha. I work for a small tech company as the only ISSO for our DC and Colorado locations, and I’m the only black person at the entire company. I show up everyday as myself. My colleagues embrace it too.
Thank you, Gentlemen.🤝🤝 Took a page full of notes. May doors continue to open for you as I AM into technology as well. See you in the near future.👋👋 “Value information as much as you value entertainment. Are you a producer or a consumer? What value are you adding to the marketplace?”☺️☺️ “Pivot Now or Pay Later.”😉😉
Thank you for your kind words and support! Wishing you all the best in your technology journey. Keep adding value to the marketplace and never stop learning!
This is so dope. Always had an interest in tech. Have taken tech courses but haven't finished my degree. This is perfect timing. Plus they are similar to me, personality wise!!!
That's awesome! Perfect timing indeed. Tech can be an exciting field, and it's great to hear that this resonates with you. Keep exploring and pursuing your passion!
We have always valued entertainment more than education. Booker T. Washington talked about the importance of blk ppl getting a skillset 100 years ago. We’re STILL tryna get everyone on the same page.
You're absolutely right. Education and skill development are crucial for personal and professional growth, regardless of background. It's an ongoing journey to prioritize education and ensure equal access to opportunities for all individuals. Together, we can work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable society.
Good episode. I’ve already taught myself html, css, and JavaScript. Thinking about going into cyber security though. Feel like it’s more fun. Thank y’all !
That's impressive! Learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a great foundation. Cybersecurity can be a fascinating field to explore. Best of luck on your journey!
You don't need all of that for cybersecurity but it's extremely helpful and can give you an advantage over other applicants. What's your experience? Any security jobs you're interested in?
@@Stoneface_ yeh I know. I was interested in web development at first but it got boring to me. I want to get into penetration testing and more fun stuff
