hey Cyrus, its different programs for careerist. The one in particular that you took, was it the sales engineer? I see that one being close to a six week program.
This is such a similar path to mine. Got my A+ at 16 and I was able to do IT Support in High School. Which shot me out to the work force with 2 years of experience.
That's awesome!! 😎
What role are you in now?
She definitely be dropping them gems especially how to finesse the defense industry
🙌🏾
Finesse... smh
@@Sladeofdark You think it's a bad thing to learn how to fast track into roles and maximize payout? If its within the legal parameters, why wouldn't you wanna learn tips to max your compensation. You can stay getting that average salary, no thanks!
@@donavena3007 exactly like if I can get to the bag faster by all means I’m down for it more time I can save to myself in later years and it allows you to have more access and opportunity to obtaining more wealth from higher salaries early on

I love tech. I’ve been in this industry for almost three years and I want to do so much more. I so appreciate this podcast. It feels so good to see people like me who do the same thing.
Hey! How's it going?
@@techisthenewblack it's going pretty well, but I want more. Hopefully, when my schedule calms down, I want to enroll in a course or two.

Beez is dope! She's given me some pointers even breaking into product design. I'd like to see you interview someone successful in product design.

yes to the product design
I love it, I’m in the process of a career change to tech myself. But my 16 year old is currently getting his certification ( via A Texas public school) and will be interviewing for a full time remote tech internship this summer. So folk’s definitely need to check and see what the ISD their kids go to offer, in particular the tech teachers.
Please, I’d like to share what I have to do to get internships this summer as a first year cs student
What would you recommend in this arena for a 7 year old who interested in science, math, gaming and wants to learn coding? What can I do to fast track him into technology and give him a head start?
@@shopwithebonylove7 is too young, let the brain develop a little let the kid have fun while he develops his communication skills/ English/ math etc
Brooooo, this interview was fire, I have been waiting on this one. I love both of you, doing great things to aspire us to get into tech. Can I address the people though, this flex culture has got to stop. Why is it that people don't think anyone has credibility unless they are flexing flashy jewelry or cars. Let me just be real, black people need to stop thinking material possessions are validations of success, whether online or in real life. This needs to be addressed, because far too many people are on this flex mentality. Being honest, most people that are flexing are the fake ones, look at the PPP scammers that are going to jail, people being caught doing ID, credit card fraud. Stop looking at the flex and look for the value of the content, let people guide you to the bag, and when you do get to the bag, keep it quiet. Real money moves in silence, remember that.
I agree to a certain extent. Our culture is very different than others as you know. Flexing is not always negative. Flexing is not about 💩 on people all the time sometimes it’s simply about showing off your accomplishments. Especially when you came from nothing. That be humble stuff is a slave mentality that everybody has obtained because they ain’t never had nothing. So with all due respect I agree to a certain extent with what you said
WOW, WOW, WOW this was amazing. Beez is Amazing… I really like how the information was broken down , I really like how Beez explained the history of how she got to where she is now. As someone who has been in the tech industry for almost 30 years I can appreciate the laid out time line and progression . I would personally like to thank Beez and Cyrus for taking the time that they do to create content and share what they have learned to help others get into this industry. Cyrus thank you for providing this space…. Will be joining the tech group this week. 👊🏽

She’s a perfect tech sales person bc she’s great at communicating and inspiring, and she definitely sold me just from her being down to earth & relatable to inexperienced ppl like myself.
That's the power of effective communication! It's great to see you finding inspiration in her story.
I was playing football at the same university Symonè went to while she was there, and she is not lying about how the student athlete schedule was 😅 it was crazy. She’s super solid and dope. I had no idea she was in tech until I got into the industry.
She did an "Opportunity Cost" between the average WNBA players comp vs a Computer Science Degree holder's long term earnings potential.. Having a long term view is key, but we live in a society where everyone wants instantaneous gratification without putting in the required work. Tech ROI can be insane but you need to be willing to put in the work, trust the process & immerse yourself in all applicable knowledge pertaining to your chosen fields.
I was waitin for this interview!!! Both of y’all made me want to get into tech, I started watchin both of y’all around the same time!! Let’s gooo 💯🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Awesome! Thank you!
This is amazing so ready for Cyber Security. I'm teaching myself Web Development, it's nowhere near as hard as I thought it would be. Thank y'all for this information, keep it coming!
My pleasure! 🙌🏾
Her explanation is on point. Clear and concise conveyance of information.
🙌🏾
Wow! What an incredible human! We need more people like her in the world. I definitely will be checking out her course 💥
🙌🏾
This was a good one! I've been an adjuster for a decade and transitioning into tech. Adjusting is stressful and the hours are long! 12 hour days 7 days a week then off 3-4 days and doing it again is not for the faint of heart.
Glad it was helpful!
I was an independent insurance adjuster for about 10 years. The pay for independent adjusters was great, but stress could be too much.
This was a great interview. 👏🏾👏🏾 I start a boot camp next month I’m so excited. She was definitely dropping gems. I currently am a GS employee and I’m glad she clarified the pay scale for government employees. it is capped. Each year you go up a step. And it gets capped at 10 steps meaning after 10 years your salary won’t go any higher.
It’s awesome she got in so young. I’m gonna start looking up summer tech camps for kids as well. I want my son to be making great money too lol
You got this!
Start with your kids school district, my son getting it for free
Such a dope segment🔥🔥🔥Shout out to Tech is the new Black & Beez. Thank you for constantly dropping all the best gems💎🙏🏾

Thank you and we appreciate you too!
Dope interview 🔥🔥🔥 both of y’all have me considering adding tech under my belt and I’m an entrepreneur.
Appreciate that!
one of my favorite tech influencers glad you brought her on
We're honored!
The 3 CompTIA certs in the early 2010s wasn't a myth it was a foot in the door. Like everything else in IT, it has been far surpassed by better certifications and training. Nothing CompTIA offers now competes with equivalent certifications that are available.
You're right; the tech industry evolves rapidly. Staying up to date with relevant certifications is key!
Loving the interviews brother keep at it!👍@@techisthenewblack
Another one! So much value was shared on this interview. Keep it up Cyrus and thanks Beez!

Best one yet. 🔥 Love Beez she always drop good videos.

Thank you, Cyrus and Symone, for this amazing interview.

Her best advise is not to get certificates for jobs but get them for your own knowledge.

Great interview Cyrus. You are doing an amazing job.
During the infomercial you mentioned a bootcamp for cybersecurity. What's the name of the company? Is it syntax?
Hey, Its Syntax Technologies.

Great interview ! I also work for a DOD contractor in tech. Great field to be in

I'm hoping to transition into tech next year when my sign-on contract expires. My plan is to obtain as many cyber security certs as possible and pair that with my clearance. Since I live in the DMV I should receive decent pay increase, so fingers crossed!
Sounds like a solid plan! With your cyber security certs and clearance, you're well-prepared for a successful transition. Best of luck!

This was good. I like in Qatar and I’m looking for a job. I’ve been trying to understand how to get a job with the usa government and everyone acts like they don’t know about it. I just met a young lady who is doing it helpdesk on the air force base and she gave me the info you gave. I’m going to be doing that. Thanks so much. For real. Great interview! Do you have to have help desk experience or no tech background that’s what I need clarification on
Hey, Your background doesn’t matter all that much. I have a background in poetry, my friends Malachi a deportation officer, Tiffini healthcare, Emanuel worked at a barbecue place and we all did the sales engineering course and all make above 6 figures. In under a year 🤷🏾♂️
Plenty of similar stories for the tech sales bootcamp and other roles as well.
These bootcamps give you the training, education and help that you need. So a tech specific degree helps, but is unnecessary. As long as you do your part and the better you do your part, the faster they can help you break into tech.
Feels like this is not the full interview.. just ended out of nowhere. Ya'll were spittin too.
