- Hiking the Humphreys Peak trail in beautiful Arizona, USA. Humphreys Peak is the highest natural point and the second most prominent peak after Mount Graham in Arizona, with an elevation of 12,637 feet and is located within the Kachina Peaks Wilderness in the Coconino National Forest, about 11 miles north of Flagstaff, Arizona.

I made it to the top twice, once in mid May and again in July. Had great weather both times. I'll never forget those false peaks.

My wife, brother and I backpacked up and camped just below treeline back in 04. Was an interesting trip, we were dogged by high winds and cold even though it was not in the forecast. We had to huddle down behind the rocks just to the right of that trail sign at the saddle to snack up then headed back down for a well deserved burger and shake. Glad you had beautiful weather!
You never know what kind of weather you will get in the mountains. Sounds like a memorable trip! I felt very lucky to have good weather on this hike given the trails exposure.

Great video, but they always are. First thing I thought was you were not in the Sierra, hahaha then you explained why, fires.
I will hike this peak, I hike Mt. Lemmon in March 2019 while visiting friends in Tucson, its the second tallest in AZ. But Humphrey had to much snow still. So I need to put it on my list again.
