When young Nellie's voice kept saying "I was here and you didn't see me, I was here this whole time" at her own funeral while her ghost was watching her family leaving. That got me.
In episode 10, Poppy Hill recites a poem to Hugh Crain about how a person (male) killed the Garrot family. Who was these Garrots ? Did they live in the house earlier ? Who murdered them ?
@@07aniketdeysarkar26 That poem is a line from the book, although even in the book it makes no sense in context. I’ll be honest, I don’t know why “The Haunting of Hill House” is considered a classic, because it’s one of the dullest books I’ve ever read.
Time loop that kills you in a predestination paradox sort of way, time fluidity, it's the worst best sorts of horror, personally, I find it actually scary
The most horrifying scene that sticks with me is when Nelly gets hanged, and she’s falling with her bent broken neck through the darkness into her all her old memories. She keeps falling without stopping and she has no control over it as she plummets to her death. It was so horrifying and sad to watch.
Nawl it’s sad because the house knew she was ment to hang herself and be a ghost and used her doomed future self to haunt her throughout her life… but my only confusion is why and how she killed Author
I was scared of that at the begining, but later that jumpscare felt more like an atempt from Nelly to say something like: "please stop arguing between each other and tearing this family apart, make amends already", then, i realized that many of this jumpscares came in the middle of an argument between the family, she was just trying to prevent them from separating even more than they already were.
The part where you see the scary lady with long hair running after Luke and his dad was actually Olivia blew my mind. The more revealed of the story, the less scary it becomes, but it gets even more sad 😢 Brilliant show
Idk it feels even scarier, because it's like the show is messing with our perceptions just like the house messed with the Crain family. It also makes it horrifying in a more grounded way, and to me it's the kind of scary that sticks with you longer
@@Aquarius-kun395 Yeah same... Because it's being presented to us that she's losing her mind, I assumed it was her body either possessed or becoming demented.
I think one of the most horrifying things Poppy showed the mom was the nightmare of the twins basically describing their adulthood, like when Luke described taking drugs as taking poison. That’s horrifying for any mother to hear, so in Mom’s messed up mind, she was saving them from a horrible future by killing them.
The fact Olivia compared that with what Poppy told her happened to her own kids and decided it would still be better to kill her own kids to keep them "safe" boggles my mind
@@lovely1641 the house had broken her down by that point and her reasoning was compromised. The old woman ghost tried to warn her but by then it was too late. Unfortunately, both her kids’ futures would have been avoided had she not gone crazy because of the house.
The Nellie/Luke storyline with the house showing Olivia their futures is the most interesting to me because of the complexity of it and the layers to it. I think a lot was connected together. I believe because Nell and Luke saw the most and heard the most, they were affected the most and got PTSD and trauma that carried throughout their adult life, that resulted in Luke’s addiction and Nellie’s anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts. But also, it’s explained by many throughout the show that the house is what killed Nell. And I agree with that too. In addition to her issues, she was prompted in specific directions and ultimately into her death. Nell and Luke wouldn’t suffer their things if it wasn’t for the house giving them trauma. So I think I see it as everything being planned by the house. It showing Olivia her adult children suffering; dead and dying, and her being manipulated into killing them as children to keep them safe forever. It was the house’s fault that Nell and Luke suffered through trauma, but it’s putting the blame on the world doing it to them and planting that same mindset in Olivia’s head. “The big, bad world outside is gonna be the problem.” But the world IS bad and scary, and that’s life. I think more than anything, the house just held onto the people that were there and wanted to keep them there. I don’t believe it was even really evil, but it was twisted and sad and desperate.
Luke wasn’t describing the drugs as poison, at first we think that but it was actually poison. I don’t know if you missed it, but in the final episode, he doesn’t take heroin, it’s the rats poison his mom tried to used on them before, so the premonition of his death it’s not overdose, it’s the house literally poisoning him
i cant believe i didn’t realize all those rooms were actually the red room, considering the window that’s always there, and the fact that every time it’s mentioned to someone else they say “what room?”
I even think During the ending scene with the CAKE, all the family members are trapped inside that red Room with a painting in the middle that might be similar to that window of red Room.
My mom was vaguely annoyed that Luke was the only person whose child actor looked *nothing* like his adult actor. 😂 She was like "I don't get it. They did such a good job on everybody else"
@@jackheris687 in the (later) Harry Potter series, there is a room that pops up when you need it called the Room of Requirement. It turns into anything you need: a junk closet, a study hall, a library, a bedroom, a bathroom. The red room does the same thing, becoming a safe seeming place away from the rest if the dank and depressing mansion. But unlike the room of requirement, which only exists to help, this room learns your loves and fears and determines the best way to kill you and add you to the number of ghosts
I felt really bad for The Dudley’s when I found out about their backstory. Prior to that I just saw them as the typical weird and uncaring caretakers. But after the backstory and then the ending? Damn.... felt so bad.
I believe a lot of people are missing the point when complaining that this series wasn't "scary enough". It was a brilliant drama with deep character development which effectively incorporated strong horror elements. It was a really great experience, and kudos to you for managing to summarize an entire series in a single episode. Keep up the amazing work :-)
Amen to that! It's not really a scary story if you watch the whole thing in one sitting. But holy shit, I watched 6 episodes and had to go to sleep and oh my god what a shitty night I had, going to sleep after the bent-neck-lady EP was one of the worse decisions I've made in my life hahah. Beautiful plot and a shit-ton of hiding messages about love, loss and the fight against addictions. 10000/10 for me on this one
As someone who is a horror fan, and having too much horror movies that now if I watch one, I treat it as a comedy, this show was real "scary" I've become so numb to horror or scary movies/shows, but this was finally made me feel fear that I hadn't felt since I barely started watching horror movies. This was a masterpiece since they did not rely on cheap jumpscares ever 2 mins and instead created horror through the mystery and dark tone
@@jackm6271 I couldn't agree more, the horror aspects of the series aren't done in a traditional fashion with jumpscares and scary looking ghosts jumping out shouting boo, but through tense scenes that the director allows to play out and dark uncomfortable scenes that pull the viewer in. 10/10 a very fresh take in a sadly stale era of horror
I personally think that if they make a second season, they should make the Hills the main characters. This also works, because they could see the ghost of the dead Crains because the house has a nonlinear timeline
@@twinkcatcher6000 They won't stick to the Crains. Their story is over. They beat their fears, they moved on. It was a good ending for them. Even the director said even if a season 2 would come, as far as he's concerned, the Crain story is done. Which I agree with. Going too far with the same characters will end up making it too messy.
I thought the series was just going to be creepy and shit but it actually made me really emotional and realise just how important family is. I didn't expect to cry so damn much 😂
I think I shed a tear once during it.... only because I was watching this show with my mom and I didn’t wanna look like a p*ssy or too emotional😅 I would’ve cried way more if my mom wasn’t there
@@InvaderSorti This show is not scary at all, more like a psychological thriller/family drama. And there's no interesting monsters but you'll probably still like it if you enjoy extremely well made tv shows lol
Invader Grim this show is not a typical scare show. It’s so strange that so many critics are calling it nauseatingly scary and a wuss like me never got spooked at all. There’s next to no jump scares. The cheap shit is what scares me and by the sound of it, you too. It’s the story. It’s so amazing and some of the concepts are scary. Not in a spooky way though. It’s just more real-life problems that are so sad and scary at the same time. The story is honestly the best I’ve ever watched and I don’t like scary stuff. Trust me. Get this show on and binge!
@@user-qs9ps3hw6u Ok thanks mate and yeah your pretty spot on with the cheap stuff part. But if you dont mind one question should i put off watching the vid till i watch it, i get the feeling it will be a yes.
One of the best scenes in the show, that isn't talked about much, is Mr. Dudley's 5 minutes monologue. It was such a great performance and also a very calmly terrifying story. Made me wonder why Hugh didn't try to send Liv away on a trip much sooner, once he started noticing erratic behavior.
Completely agree. Nells death then seeing her haunt her younger self was so sad! Same with Luke as well, the fact they both suffered the most out of all of them. Makes sense considering they were both twins.
Both of their stories made me cry! Nell was the same sweet girl who thought there was a unicorn in the red room and seeing her lose her husband and the sleeping paralysis which drove her insane. And no wonder Luke started using after the things he saw. Both of the most innocent kids in that family had the worst lives
If they do decide to do a second season I hope it’s set before the Crain family and not after. I really liked the ending of the house just dying of starvation.
Nell’s “The rest is confetti” monologue in the last episode is soooooo good. The setup with her repeated lines like, “We all have, we just didn’t know it.” which then fall into place as the Crain kid’s conversation moves on was so clever and cool and it’s so well done. It’s my favorite part in the whole show.
Yes, I hope they will tell a different story each season about the ghosts who dwell in Hill House. Perhaps it could begin with Mr. Dudley's death and the selling of Hill House to someone else?
@@ark4723 I was never scared by any of the jump scares, but I still loved the show, I saw a lot of them coming and even when I didn't, I wasn't really scared. The parts that really got me were the subtle ones or the ones that are just in your face, like when the bowling hat man, just casually walked through the house towering over everything while young like just stood there, also the unknown things like the scratching in the wall, Mr. Smileys face in the wood, etc. I think what really made this show scary a lot of the time, was because I felt the characters fear, the show allowed me to get to know them and I was worried for them when they were scared.
The Abigail twist, the "when would I have had time to build you kids a treehouse" twist, and all of Nellie's episode... Those had me absolutely shook. But the scene where Nellie talks to her family about time being like confetti completely broke me.
@@avelonia9120 It's the type of thing that seems soooo obvious after you've seen it ! I watched this series 3 times, the second and third time showing it to some friends and I was always waiting for them to catch on to this twist but it never happened. As they say, hindsight is 20/20
Yeah.. that was sorta supposed to be obvious since they mentioned earlier that when he broke his leg as a kid, she had fantom pains of it... I knew he was feeling her death. He felt the moment she hung herself too.
Both of them the ENTIRE show suffered anytime one or the other was going through something, it wasnt subtle at all. Like most of this show. This is one of those incredibly straight forward shows that people complicate themself
The most tragic thing for me is how Hugh lost his entire family and all he was doing was trying to keep them safe. The kids pretty much hated him and everyone else acted like he was crazy. As a father I would do anything to protect my children even if it means losing them.
I wish they explored more of the origins of the ghosts. What of the guy who bricked himself in the basement. WHY HE DID THAT ? And the most insane scene for me was with Luke seeing the tall floating man.. THIS scene was amazing.
They did explain it. During Theo’s dream in the red room, the illusion told her that he “built a house” to keep away fear and guilt, who are sisters. However, the house he built was big enough for all three of them and when he tried to escape, he could only scratch at the wall, like a rat in the walls. This was his way of committing suicide after being haunted by the house.
@@Lucky13_537 For me its kinda vice versa, I feel like Bly focused too much on characters and not enough on developing other areas like worldbuilding and (to a lesser extent) plot. Hill house broke my heart, but Bly really focused on character's grief and inner turmoil. Also, the fact that the kids were willing to give up their lives, bodies, and souls just to live with their parents again... damn
Each kid supposedly represents each of the five stages of grief. Denial - Steve Anger - Shirley Bargaining - Theo Depression - Luke Acceptance - Nellie
Luke’s story absolutely destroyed me. I briefly worked with addicts, and it’s hard to explain to people who have never known an addict, why I always say we should separate the person from their deeds. The amount of people I’ve seen who were honest to god good people, but did all kinds of things they were ashamed of while in the throws of their addiction…it’s heartbreaking. And those bad acts alienate them from the people in their life, which makes them more ashamed, which drives them further into their coping mechanism: their drug. Going back and forth in time with Luke’s story…to see him as this cute, curious, innocent kid, and then seeing him as this lonely, suffering, adult…it really affected me. And that had nothing to do with the classic “horror” themes of the show.
The house didn't make Nell hang herself, her mother Olivia did. Nell and Luke didn't drink the tea and didn't die like Abigail, thus Olivia trying to get them again. She succeeded with Nell and almost got Luke at the end, but he survived. He got saved by Steven, and his own willpower too when he was temporary dead, and back with Liv, Nell and Abi as children. (The hat scene in the red door room.) Olivia ended up letting her children go, since she already had Nell, and Hugh made a deal to stay with them.
You’re missing the most important point though. The house is what turned Olivia crazy, thus everything Liv did was in turn something the house was doing. The house simply used Liv to get more victims.
@@papermelon Yep. It analyzed her imo and put the ghost that could get to her best which was poppy in front of her to influence her decisions. I think that even though Liv actually had some psychic abilities, she also had some mental illness that made her especially venerable to the house along with her kids. The whole series to me is about the consequences of letting unresolved issues fester and take on a life of their own
I think the house, through Olivia’s ghost, exacerbated and manipulated Nellie’s own desire to die. Six year old dream Nellie told her mother that her heart would break and everything would hurt until she needed to die. We didn’t see the reality of the moment, but some subconscious part of Nellie had to have put a rope around her neck and climbed to the other side of the railing. Her reaction while dying was so difficult for me because, instead of feeling the relief and peace we like to imagine suicide victims are finally feeling, she was just scared, and realized too late that she wanted to be alive. Honestly it was the most terrifying and heartbreaking depiction of suicide I’ve ever seen. I struggled a lot with PPD and suicide ideation after giving birth and I cried about that scene for almost an hour.
One of the big questions that I still can not understand is how Steven entered the tree house with Luke and no other person entered the room of the other brothers.
I wondered this too... oddly though in the last episode, when Nell is explaining the Red Room, you'll see that it shows Luke talking to himself in the tree house asking how to spell "no girls allowed" (in this video it shows it at 10:08) which showed Steven there previously. Which would have made sense and answered our question, but adult Steven also acknowledges that he knew of the tree house so that fucks everything up.
Jeff Days Probably just an oversight when they took shots of all the kids isolated in the rooms. Steven was probably allowed in because Luke let him. That's why the sign says no girls allowed. Steven is the only other brother.
I think the house was bending time and space around them. It essentially hypnotized them to think the red room was whatever each person needed at the time. Physically they all entered the same door but they “saw” what the house wanted to see. Luke was often neglected as the youngest, he spent a lot of time alone with Abigail and nobody believed his stories. It’s not surprising that he was alone in the tree house or only with nick Remember, the mom was able to enter Steve’s game room and other characters talk to the mom in the tea room. The house is changing their perceptions of space
Well when Olivia poisoned the kids it was 5 people in the room. I think since they were 2 boys they were always near by, and it had to keep the big brother in there too if he did t want Luke spending no time in there
The red cake at the end leads me to believe they're all still in the red room. The color red was present in every vision in the room and was central in the final shot of the cake.
The original ending was supposed to be all of them in the red room. the director/producer said they had originally put the red room window in the background, but decided that was too sad and wanted to give them a happy ending.
@@kcallamajaji I still don't think it's "happy" though. I do like the decision to remove the red room window because now it leaves it open to interpretation. They beat home the symbolism of the color red in the visions and the last shot we see is red so I'm thinking it's still a red room vision, but the alternative could also be true.
@@KimKim-pp5fn Technically, isn't the eldest child Steve burdened with the knowledge that their Dad is gone and the house is still in their care (legally theirs as well), only to be passed down from generation to generation knowing the evil that awaits in that house?
I think the red cake actually symbolises the opposite; since, we know that Mike Flanagan intentionally altered the ending so that the 4 children survived. Thus, rather than the 'red-room' continuing to consume them, the children are (visually/symbolically) consuming 'it'. That is, they are digesting what happened to them and moving forward. I'd say this is more likely due to textual evidence (e.g., the removal of the rectangular window) and the Director's notes.
What i love about this show is how they define the definition of a ghost or a haunting. Grief, Guilt, Anxiety. And its so thorough you can breakdown every characters ghosts or apparitions they see. My favorite is how Luke keeps counting to 7, and the reason he keeps using is to run away from the Bowler Hat Man.
@Chris Madison I think it's more like Nell's husband really did have an aneurysm, the vision of Nell's death going backwards in time is because of her psychic ability triggering on her death and realization she is her own trauma. First figuring out at death that the bent-neck lady was herself, or at least a vision of her death. Then that vision is linked to those traumatic moments she remembers seeing the lady, actually appearing to herself back in time. It's now a chicken or egg thing where her death was always certain, and that's why her own psychic powers allowed her to see herself as the bent-neck lady at those moments. But the bit with Nell's husband, it's more like he did die, and that was a traumatic moment, so there's a link from her future-death (bent-neck lady) to that moment. Then-Nells blamed the bent-neck lady, but it's more like she naturally replayed that traumatic moment when she died, and so her bent-neck self appeared to herself in the past at that moment.
@@Elementroar I know this comment is a year old, but do you mean like all versions of Nells can see each other due to their psychic ability? So like when her husband dies, the bent neck lady was there because dying Nells travelled back to that moment in her memory? So Nells only saw the bent neck lady, in the moments dying Nells was thinking back on her past?
also, i always wondered why hugh never had a room?? maybe the house didn’t think it could manipulate him as easily, or it figured the easiest way to get him would be through the family. also olivias dead stare at steven as the door closed was one of the scariest moments
Dude yes! I kept saying over and over... Why didnt Hugh or Kevin ever have hauntings of their own while living in the house while they were young? That never made any sense to me. Maybe because they were the strongest willed? Idk. I really don’t know. But Kevin at least had a room in the red room. Hugh didn’t. Idk why... so odd
I believe because Olivia and Steve, Shirley, Theo, Luke n Nell has a sixth sense (seeing ghost, telepathy, theo power etc2), human with superpower are more easier to get manipulate.
@@pbower4378 Hugh wasn't sensitive to psychic stuff, the house probably tried but just couldn't get through to him which is why he never saw the clock worker man or the red room
The ending made me bawl twice! Once when the dad sacrificed himself and when Dudley carried Clara through the forest so she could be with her children again.
this is possibly the best series I've seen in my life. not even the paranormal aspect, but rather the emotional part of the story shown through the interactions between the family is what makes it amazing. Nel's story is just incredible and is why I enjoy it so much
They gotta bring back the modern characters tho because thats where the audience attachment is. If they just go through the history of the house it wouln't be as interesting I think
I honestly am glad they did Bly. I loved Hill House, definitely the superior of the two, but after that, there's not really anything more I wanted out of it. Bly was a great story with even better characters and I like how it didnt feel the need to be related to Hill House, arguably not even the same universe/rules of ghosts. Just a great new story that you can appreciate in relation to Hill House.
Isn't it weird the way the mom looked at steve on the way out? In lukes vision he had RED converse on when he actually didn't even have shoes at the time. Isn't it weird that he had a RED cake at the end of the movie?! Idk just something to look out for...
The ending was written originally that they were still in the red rooms. But he changed it because it was too sad for them and they deserved better. Also takes away from Nells character development and the dad's sacrifice to the house to get it to release his kids. It would've made that all pointless.
Yeah, enjoyed the series , been waiting on you to explain the ending. Yes on hidden ghost video. Thanks your awsome, so many endings explained to me. Thx
This is definitely my favorite show of all time! It made me feel the whole gamut of emotion from true fear (which is super hard for me to feel nowadays) sadness, introspection, and slight nostalgia (having read the book last month). That ending hit me like a train. First time I cried at a movie or show since marley and me which I still dont like thinking about :'(
AHS tried to do a story about a house full of spirits, and this show did it a thousand times better. I put this show on one day not expecting much. By two episodes in I was like "Woah this is actually really good." And watched the whole thing in 2 days. It was brilliantly done because the timelines bouncing around had a potential to be very messy and confusing but it really added to the whole thing, rather than taking away from it. It's a shame that Liv was about to get help from the old woman. She was trying to help Liv by telling her "that one lies." And then Liv asked for help and it seemed like she was about to get some good information but then she freaked out and started chasing Hugh and Stevie because of the doubts and fears that Poppy put into her mind.
I want to watch this series so much but I actually can't watch horror movies/shows... I can't deal with jumpscares, especially when I know they're coming. Probably related to my anxiety. Anyways, I appreciate your Ending Explained series as it allows me to understand the story without giving myself a heart attack trying to watch for myself. I'd be super interested in the hidden ghosts video, as it may actually help me watch the series, but even if it doesn't it'd be cool to see as I've heard lots about the dozens of hidden ghosts.
There's genuinely only 2 or 3 jumpscares in the whole season, me and my other half can't watch things that are too jumpy because he's epileptic and I have a heart condition but we were both fine watching this (my dad watches things like this before and tells me if it'll kill me or not lol)
As much as you should watch it, there’s one that 2 characters are in a car and then a big spook comes out of nowhere and I almost had a heart attack, if you watch, look out for women in cars because that’s where it’ll get you lol
Holy crap I just finished this series and immediately went to watch this video! It’s crazy how most of the main plot line is done in the first two episodes and the last two. The character development was phenomenal and I probably cried at least once every episode after episode 5. Also RIP ABIGAIL I CANT BELIEVE YOU WEREN’T IMAGINARY
Yeah I want a ghost sighting video! And I reckon the season 2 should be about the Hill family themselves and how the house became haunted etc basically they should do an origins season 💯
ghost in the background = people who lived in the house during the time , who committed a lot of crimes , this thing has been told during the movie as well! USE YOUR BRAIN !
the biggest shock to me was definitely Abigail…but i was definitely confused when theo had a dance studio, and when Olivia had a reading room i just never put all those pieces together. the whole nonlinear time thing i love but it’s also so freaky and scary to me for some reason. i know they probably aren’t doing another season of this show but i would be very interested to see more stories of the other ghosts considering there are so many!
I watched the series along with my 16 year old daughter... I was lost and confused a couple times but the series got better with each episode and tied up loose ends and answered questions I had... very beautiful family
Everything about this show was amazing. From the story to the way it was shot, it was beautiful. Netflix really did it with this one, I went through a turmoil of emotions when watching this show. But, hopefully they don’t do a second season, it finished off great.
1) First and foremost: why does everyone in movies just throw their zippo lighters when they instigate a fire? They're like $40 and have a lifetime warranty. Just bend your knees, put the zippo flame to the edge of the gasoline perimeter and after it catches fire close the zippo and put it in your pocket. Also, less evidence for the police. 2) Second: "The Haunting" is one of the few shows I've really binged. I watched all episodes in a row. It was fantastic! Both scary and suspenseful, but also explored the depths of trauma and how it can affect different family members. No two siblings process any kind of trauma (like, divorce, death of a loved one and so on) in the same way. It was masterfully done, especially the interaction between the siblings. 3) Third: was Nell really suffering from sleep paralysis? This is what I had a problem with when it came to Nell and Luke. They're twins so they have a preternatural bond to each other. Then I would argue Nell felt every time Luke took drugs as well as when he went through withdrawal pains. Yet I don't remember anyone raising this issue, like "Hey, Luke, you feel connected to your twin sister, right? So you don't think she feels the effects of the drugs when you take them and then feels like shit when you go through withdrawal? What if she is driving at the moment and your drug use or withdrawal symptoms make her crash the car and kill her as well as others?" So I was uncertain if Nell had "her own thing" or her experiences where due to Luke's drug use or lack thereof.
Because none of them believed in the psychic connection between them due to being twins. Just like her doctor said, he believes in an empathetic bond, but not in psychic connections. The other siblings, save for Theo, refused to acknowledge any indication of them having psychic powers. Also, Luke's drug use could have been effecting his bond with his sister, hence the reason he didn't know she had actually died. Even when her spirit appeared to him, he thought it was more or less a dream or something. His body and mind had been so burnt out, his connection was shorted out. As far as the lighter, I don't think Luke cared for it lol he was only thinking of one thing and that was watching Hill House burn to the ground. I don't know how much trouble he would have been in for actually burning it, since his dad owned it. I don't know if he would have been arrested for arson or what.
@@WulfysGamingTidbits - But that's the doctor saying he doesn't believe in psychic connections, not Nell. And even if the others refused to acknowledge these powers, Theo still does, because it's hereditary. And since Nell and Luke are twins and twins have already an empathetic bond, shouldn't the connection between them be even more powerful? I mean them being also aware that it's more powerful than normal. Well, withdrawal can be a cause for substance-induced psychotic disorder, so Luke was probably right thinking it was just that when Nell appeared to him. As for the zippo, it wasn't necessarily aimed at Luke, more like a general remark how in movies, both heroes and villains just throw them like they were matches. But if you don't want to leave any traces, don't throw your zippo. It's like after a fire the first people the police should contact are employees of stores that sell zippos, like "Hey, anyone suspicious who recently bought a zippo?"
She didn’t start seeing the bent neck lady again until after her husband died and Luke was still on drugs when her husband was around so I don’t think the drug use stopped her visions. It was more like when her husband was there, her dying was an uncertain thing, but after he died, the timeline shifted back. I also think the closer in proximity she and Luke are, the stronger their connection is.
Foundflix. Dont know if you will read this but what do you think about alternate ending? The room where they celebrate lukes 2years being sober, just being one of houses illusions. All rooms had a window in middle ( red rooms illusions ). Director said he wanted to put in a twist a window in that room. I think i explained it bad but you can check out information in internet. This series was good but i dont think it was like a horror but more as disturbing and sad drama with jump scares. But even then 10/10 For me.
It became my Favorite Netflix Show the instant I watched it. The story was really well told and the ending felt fulfilling, not disappointed at all. Great video 👍🏼
Can you please do a ending explained for "I am that pretty thing that lives in the house". I just finnished watching it and I'm very confused about what happened and why. I love your videos and I always look forward to them!
The military created a compound to hold out in and protect the civilians while they waited for the infected to die out (as humans, they still need food and nutrients to function). After 28 weeks, they start to send out excavation crews to search for survivors. They find the kid's mom in a weird state. She's broken, barely functioning, and disoriented but still alive. They take her back to the compound to run tests on her. Her husband visits and kisses her. Unfortunately, she was a healthy carrier (a trait passed on to her son) and infects her husband. He rapidly changes and savagely kills her [You gotta see this death, bro]. He then plunges the facility into chaos and hundreds of people are infected or killed in like, an hour. The kids escape underground to make it to a stadium for evacuation while the city is fire-bombed [another cool scene]. The father bites the son and infects him before the daughter shoots him. The son becomes a healthy carrier and is picked up by the evacuation helicopter. Did this help?
@@demonwolf570 I'm not trying to troll at all, but that's basic information if you watch the movie. He meant an "Ending Explained" because the kids make it to London, but after that it just shows cut scenes of zombies over ran by London (as a guess from major landmarks being surrounded by smoke). At the very end of the blackout before credits, it audiates a message (from a radio I'm guessing) about things I cant remember on the spot, but wasnt really helpful. It was a brief foreshadow that the virus wasnt only limited to their country, but in others aswell. But with London being the "safe haven" originally, it then makes us question "what then for our young ones. I'm not too sure there are any information further at all, since the movie didnt exceed as well as the 28 Days Later (dont quote me on that quote). But yea...
Does anyone know who led Abigail away from the Red Room after Olivia returns to see Abigail dead on the floor? I think it might Mrs. Hill, the woman Clara took care of. The clothing seemed to match with her age. Very 1940s/1950s. Anyone else have any thoughts?
Could you do an ending explained on the movie Mirrors? It's honestly one of my favourite horror movies. It has the most unexpected amazing ending to a horror movie I've ever seen, they couldn't have done it any better.

@@janayward3496 agreed. Adult Shirley was the worst of all. Just like Steven both adult and young. He always seemed "kinda gay" for me. But with all sure Theo was the best one, by far!!! I loved her! @@brunosouza3802 yes!!! Kid Luke and Nelle were AMAZING actors. Kid Steve was an AWFUL actor, and so was younger dad, even though irl he was the boy from ET. His acting was just blahh.
I love the storytelling aspect they took for the show; it's told through the eyes of one sibling in one episode and sprinkles flashbacks through one episode but then in another episode, it tells you what actually happens. For instance, I liked the episodes where it explores Theodora's powers and how that effected her growing up and Luke's episode (Luke honestly was one of my favorite characters, next to Nell). And finally, *FUCK YOU* Poppy Hill!
When young Nellie's voice kept saying "I was here and you didn't see me, I was here this whole time" at her own funeral while her ghost was watching her family leaving. That got me.
Finally someone who felt this part I'd to replay this and her wedding dance song
In episode 10, Poppy Hill recites a poem to Hugh Crain about how a person (male) killed the Garrot family.
Who was these Garrots ? Did they live in the house earlier ? Who murdered them ?

When i found out Nellie was actually the bent neck lady, I was SHOOK
Didn't you mean to say... The fact turned some heads, no ok :p

IKR
why?????
Time loop that kills you in a predestination paradox sort of way, time fluidity, it's the worst best sorts of horror, personally, I find it actually scary
The most horrifying scene that sticks with me is when Nelly gets hanged, and she’s falling with her bent broken neck through the darkness into her all her old memories. She keeps falling without stopping and she has no control over it as she plummets to her death. It was so horrifying and sad to watch.
Yeah, when she becomes the bent necked lady its among the best reveals in horror history
This series stayed with me for a while, both touching and haunting.
When she said “no, no, no, no, no” 😩
It was sad and horrible
Nawl it’s sad because the house knew she was ment to hang herself and be a ghost and used her doomed future self to haunt her throughout her life… but my only confusion is why and how she killed Author
Man...the twist when Abigail isn't imaginary. That really got me.
Right, my husband was like what the hell 😂

Ikr, I thought she was a ghost the entire time until the last episode
That car scene where the two sisters had an argument was probably the best jump scare done right.
I was so engrossed in their argument that when Nelle screamed I jumped a little lol
I hit ma head on the top bunk in that scene from how hard i jumped
My reaction was slow.. my brain had to process the jump scare for 4 seconds then I started to scream like she was there over my shoulder
I binged the show and that scene was horrifying.
The part where you see the scary lady with long hair running after Luke and his dad was actually Olivia blew my mind. The more revealed of the story, the less scary it becomes, but it gets even more sad 😢
Brilliant show
Idk it feels even scarier, because it's like the show is messing with our perceptions just like the house messed with the Crain family. It also makes it horrifying in a more grounded way, and to me it's the kind of scary that sticks with you longer
You mean steven
I knew it Olivia from the start oops
@@Aquarius-kun395 Yeah same... Because it's being presented to us that she's losing her mind, I assumed it was her body either possessed or becoming demented.
Nicolas Charly exactlyyyy
I think one of the most horrifying things Poppy showed the mom was the nightmare of the twins basically describing their adulthood, like when Luke described taking drugs as taking poison. That’s horrifying for any mother to hear, so in Mom’s messed up mind, she was saving them from a horrible future by killing them.
Poppys children had terrible problems.

I am trying to compare this RED ROOM with the one shown in The shining and it's prequel Movie.
I was sobbing the last 10 mins of the series. When the caretakers get reunited with their kids...RIGHT. IN. THE. FEELS.
The last episode was the closest I've ever been to crying while watching a show.
I wept man tears when the Dudley's were reunited
The saddest moment in the while show 😢
I cried when Nell's coffin fell down the floor. I imagine if it's happening in real life I would be very devastated.

10000/10 for me on this one

I've become so numb to horror or scary movies/shows, but this was finally made me feel fear that I hadn't felt since I barely started watching horror movies.

Completely agree.
Nells death then seeing her haunt her younger self was so sad! Same with Luke as well,
the fact they both suffered the most out of all of them. Makes sense considering they were both twins.
Both of their stories made me cry! Nell was the same sweet girl who thought there was a unicorn in the red room and seeing her lose her husband and the sleeping paralysis which drove her insane.
Each kid supposedly represents each of the five stages of grief.
Denial - Steve
Anger - Shirley
Bargaining - Theo
Depression - Luke
Acceptance - Nellie
Money- Steven
I would argue that both the twins represent depression, and Hugh represents acceptance tbh
This makes a lot of sense
And it goes in AGE ORDER 😮
Like in the progression of going through those stages yourself
Luke got saved by Nell, she saved them all. Steven pointlessly slapped his chest around
Thank you, Olivia killed Nell and for that she is unredeemable in my eyes
The bent neck lady was the BEST TWIST ever!
Indeed!
It’s not surprising that he was alone in the tree house or only with nick
Remember, the mom was able to enter Steve’s game room and other characters talk to the mom in the tea room. The house is changing their perceptions of space
Well when Olivia poisoned the kids it was 5 people in the room. I think since they were 2 boys they were always near by, and it had to keep the big brother in there too if he did t want Luke spending no time in there
@@scruffymuffin6147The House alters their perceptions making them not realize reality

They beat home the symbolism of the color red in the visions and the last shot we see is red so I'm thinking it's still a red room vision, but the alternative could also be true.
they are not in the red room , the end is very clear : all the five kids returned to their lives with no lies behind them , simple
The William Hill ghost was hella creepy
Right? Reminds me of a creepy slender man
Yes to the in depth explanation of ghosts in the show!!
Did you notice that when Nell’s husband died he had a bent neck
I noticed that. That’s why I thought the bent-neck lady killed him
@Chris Madison I think it's more like Nell's husband really did have an aneurysm, the vision of Nell's death going backwards in time is because of her psychic ability triggering on her death and realization she is her own trauma.
You have a bent neck

@@pbower4378??? What a are you on about? Kevin didn’t grow up in Hill house
Nel's story is just incredible and is why I enjoy it so much
I think season 2 could be about the Hills and how they died. It could be revealed how the house was cursed.
The house isn't cursed, it's "alive" as hinted to by the father many times.
They gotta bring back the modern characters tho because thats where the audience attachment is. If they just go through the history of the house it wouln't be as interesting I think
If there is a season 2, I don’t want an anthology but a prequel. I want to see the story of the Hill family.
Yes!!
@@apersonwhomayormaynotexist9868 I haven't seen it yet, is it worth watching?
@@deurlii7920 Yes, definitely
@@deurlii7920 I personally loved Bly manor but a lot of people, unfortunately, didn’t like it.It’s more of a love story than a ghost story
They're not.
The show creator has already said so.
TipicalAdventures yup good acting
star9835 tbh I would've preferred if the dad was alive but they were in the red room in the end cuz the dad got so disrespected
@Ryan Stewart I just watched the show and theres an article written by pop culture in 2016 that says that.. its a good article
I would love to see a look back at the Hills if they were to make a season 2 because there are still a lot of unexplained things about them.
The next season is about another house
Yeah, enjoyed the series , been waiting on you to explain the ending. Yes on hidden ghost video. Thanks your awsome, so many endings explained to me. Thx
You're* my dude
Let me explain has a hidden ghost video watch that
@@user-fx9hr6nf1l thanks, going to check that out now. Appreciate the heads up.
j k17 no prob
Just finished watching this show. It was definitely one of the best things I’ve ever watched
This is definitely my favorite show of all time! It made me feel the whole gamut of emotion from true fear (which is super hard for me to feel nowadays) sadness, introspection, and slight nostalgia (having read the book last month). That ending hit me like a train. First time I cried at a movie or show since marley and me which I still dont like thinking about :'(
Marley and me? Oh god.
If there isn't a simpsons parody called "the haunting of milhouse" I'm revolting.
😂😂
Actually, season 2 is called The Haunting of Bly Manor
Yeah it's funny to see this video and all the comments, knowing Season 2
I like both seasons but I definitely liked Bly Manor more. I felt like it was more poetic. I'm also a raging lesbian, so,,,,,yeah
I never thought I'd see myself bawling at the end of a 'scary' show.
I am so glad I watched it. It was a beautiful tragic story.
This is not about jumpscares , i barely remember one
Its not much about reaaal horror always on edge type of series
@Michael Dust Fuck off. People have different reactions for different things and there's nothing wrong with that.
"I was here the whole time." I'll never forget it.. It's so sad.
Yeah I want a ghost sighting video! And I reckon the season 2 should be about the Hill family themselves and how the house became haunted etc basically they should do an origins season 💯
Bria Dawes that would be great if they did a origins season 😱
I loved the cast for the family. Old and young versions, they were all so good !
Make ANOTHER VIDEO explaining please !! Especially about the ghosts in the background of the entire film ..
ghost in the background = people who lived in the house during the time , who committed a lot of crimes , this thing has been told during the movie as well! USE YOUR BRAIN !
IT'S NOT A FILM FFS
Bruh that scene with neli where it was reveled that she was the bent neck lady was insane gives me goose bumps just writing about it
I lovvvveddd the series. And knowing it’s about grief especially now that I’m grieving makes me want to watch it a third time.

Zac Clowes SAAAAME
the biggest shock to me was definitely Abigail…but i was definitely confused when theo had a dance studio, and when Olivia had a reading room i just never put all those pieces together. the whole nonlinear time thing i love but it’s also so freaky and scary to me for some reason. i know they probably aren’t doing another season of this show but i would be very interested to see more stories of the other ghosts considering there are so many!
@Ryan Stewart - So then Luke's drug use would keep her from being haunted and experiencing sleep paralysis? Or was his withdrawal that caused it?
She didn’t start seeing the bent neck lady again until after her husband died and Luke was still on drugs when her husband was around so I don’t think the drug use stopped her visions. It was more like when her husband was there, her dying was an uncertain thing, but after he died, the timeline shifted back. I also think the closer in proximity she and Luke are, the stronger their connection is.
Pretty much if her husband had lived, she probably wouldn’t have gone back to Hill house and then she wouldn’t have become the bent neck lady.
More of a psychologically thriller than horror
There’s different sub genres of horror tho
The director said that he changed that idea at the last minute before he filmed the ending
Nah man, you don't have to change genres just to tell a different story. This is just a horror story done really well.
It became my Favorite Netflix Show the instant I watched it. The story was really well told and the ending felt fulfilling, not disappointed at all. Great video 👍🏼

The youngest one's death was just so sad though
I mean, she wanted that necklace
Can u explain 28 Weeks Later ending plz, I know it's kinda old but still a great movie
